The Pump House Ratings and Reviews
Always love it but realized there were 4 of us adults and a child. I did not eat. On a special Competitor diet but was charged anyway. I did not eat at all.
My guy Ivan Sharp paid using his credit card and I asked him after we had already left. It was Sunday Beunch on the 2nd.
On my first visit to Fairbanks looking for the northern lights, I found this gem. Great food and a wonderful ambience. I had to return and try the food again on my second trip and I was not disappointed. They lived up to how I remembered it to be. I will be a repeat customer as long as they keep doing what their doing.
My little family & I LOVE The Pump House!!! That being said, on Sunday, we had a really nice and polite server but we ended up asking other server's to refill this or that. And we got really cold. But we still really love The Pump House and will continue to make this our go to when we can.
Open air type of seating with a vibrant bar scene. The restaurant is on the water, and even though the weather wasn't quite right for an outside seating, the inside seating was nice. The whole place had a lot of historical pieces all over the restaurant. I liked the decor, and it was quite big as well.
Place was recommended as a spot for local history. Used to be a Pump station. Location right on Chena Eiver. Very pretty. Staff was attentive. My favorite part was all the antiques decorating the building. You have to take a walk around restaurant to see. Food was very good. Was well prepared. Do recommend.
The food was fantastic, as usual - great filet and perfectly cooked. Seating was good and timely. We like the web-based reservation system. Service was great and we appreciate the jobs being provided to school students. Great wine list. We go to talk and enjoy a quiet meal; a quiet seating is important as in your setting - thanks. Plenty of room for seating. The historic atmosphere is incredible. Much appreciated.
Seafood selection was AWESOME!!! Food was outstanding and the service OUTSTANDING!!! Highly recommend making reservations. It was a great way to end our vacation to Alaska. Easy to find, you will need to have transportation or take a taxi but it is truly worth it.
It's hard to explain... it's a feeling, that you're in the right place at the right time, everyone is working as a team, but not rushed, yet not slow. It felt just right, very comfortable and 'at home.' I had come to Fairbanks for two nights with a friend and drove to the Arctic Circle thinking the estimated time of the drive was meant for shoppers or photo journalists.. yet our reservation was past, we still wanted to have something that said 'Alaska' and I had taken some time to decide what felt the most authentic without feeling like it may be too authentically geared to the visitor. This was Saturday night in Fairbanks, and I was sure we lost our spot and had requested river view. The parking area seemed full. We weren't dressed as well as I had thought might be required. The welcome was calming and friendly and we were shown to the best seat in the restaurant! I saw next table over the attendant who was at the nearby car wash the day before, and she smiled and came to say hello. I had the Alaska salmon and it was just such a wonderfully relaxed end of a phenomenal day. Then my friend went to the wash room and not until we'd returned to the hotel realized he had left his ring. We went back the 15 minutes and it was not there, and he left his number. The ring was found 2 days later, and Vivian had all the details still available to call and arrange for the mailing of the ring. Not only did she have the details, but because a week had passed and it had not shown up, I called thinking I'll never be able to coherently describe the situation, she knew right away and explained the post office returned her mailing for an added stamp. Now this visit is a permanent part of a memory of a wonderful trip. I would say they work as a team in delivering a caring and welcoming location on the river! We are both so glad we were there! Thank you.
Vacation tied into our anniversary
First time to eat at The Pump House. Great overall experience The decor was awesome along w the food
Another great open table option. We love open table and use it whenever we can.
We are from Tn and used OT while in Alaska.
We went to the Pump House based on a number of reviews. The restaurant was a bit out of the way. The food was good as was the service. It was, however, surprisingly expensive for a casual restaurant in Fairbanks, Alaska. Would only recommend if you are willing to spring for an excessive tab.
