Attentive staff and excellent food. Recommend for family and friend get together.
The seafood platter was awesome. It was way too much for 2, in fact 4 of us shared it and there was still some left! All the meals were great, elk meatloaf, veggie platter, reindeer steak, halibut fish n chips! Great recommendation by our tour driver!
Kinda spendy. Food was good. Service was good. Everything was “good”, just overpriced. We’re locals, and its not even tourist season yet.
I made a reservation and even though it wasn’t too busy, my we were seated in a terrible spot. There shouldn’t be a table there. I was in a chair sticking out in a walkway right next to the kitchen. I felt like I was in the way of staff going in and out of the kitchen. I was complaining to my husband about it and a random waiter overheard me and took us to another table next to the window. After that upset, the rest of the dining experience was pleasant thanks to Patrick.
I highly recommend the Bloody Larry! Also, this place has one of the best Sunday brunches in the area.
I went to the Pump House for Easter brunch and I was disappointed. I have been over the last few years to the Easter brunch and this was the first year that the food was not to the Pump House quality I am used too. For the price that was charged the food was not worth it. The eggs were watery and the food was just overall not that great. I did attend the Pulp House for dinner the Friday before and the food was amazing! I will def go again for dinner, but we will not attend for brunch again.
Great dining experience in Fairbanks! Loved the blackened halibut and red deer.
My favorite restaurant in the area. The food is worth the price and I’ve never had a bad dish. Love that the desserts are made fresh, in house!!!
the game combos are very interesting，if you have black pepper sauce，I think its will very wonderful！
We wanted some Alaskan seafood and took a taxi from Pikes to get here. We had King Crab that was very good but my wife noticed some big sections of the leg were missing the crab meat.
You don’t send the food back that taste very good and how do you complain about an issue like this. What would I say? Please stick some extra crab in this big hollow leg hole,, think not?
Maybe it fell out while being put on the plate or being served. Maybe the diner actually ate it and is trying to get extra free crab. We don’t like to complain but at a great place like this you just want your full order, nothing more but nothing less either.
Our waitress was Elizabeth and while she did her job okay. She looked like she might be having a bad night and not very approachable.
The male manager was very pleasant and helped us get a cab back to Pikes after the meal.
The food is always good! I enjoy the brunch every time I come. My granddaughters totally loved it as well.
Food options were varied, with a great breakfast selection. Lunch options were slightly bland, and desserts were hit or miss. Great value with included drinks though!
Absolutely loved the vintage decor and warm atmosphere. The food was amazing!!
We were visiting Fairbanks, we had such a great experience that we came back for
Ordered the crab legs & seafood chowder. The chowder was excellent! Very good comfort food. The crab legs were either over cooked or re-cooked. Just awful. They were kind enough to take it off our bill once they saw the spongy, shriveled crab meat. I called for reservations & they said they were booked till 8pm! What? Got on opentable & was able to secure a reservation for exactly the time we wanted. Restaurant was empty. Hmmm. Cool, local gem as far as ambiance goes. But, too pricey for the quality of food.
Great service, delicious food. The blackened halibut & elk meatloaf were delicious.
We had the pan seared salmon (slightly over cooked but still very good), the ribs (not bad at all and came with a very nice portion of steamed broccoli), a burger (I didn’t try it but it looked excellent!), the salmon salad (huge and good!) and the seafood with rice pasta (that’s not the exact name of the dish; good but I don’t think it was quite what my son expected). All in all, great service, good food and fun atmosphere, I recommend it for special occasions!
Loved mixed grill! Tooo much seafood risotto, great deserts
I went to the Pump House twice during my visit to Fairbanks. The first time I would have given it 5 stars. The strip steak and everything that came with it was outstanding. The waiter was impeccable. The timing between the courses was perfect. The second time I went it was worthy of only 3 stars. The waiter barely even checked on me. If I needed more beverage, i had to flag him down. The salmon was nothing special and the potatoes/veggies were bland.
Two thumbs up. Always a great place to dine. The seafood chowder is the best I've had. The wine and beer selection is world class. And the humidor......WOW!!!
I feel terrible leaving a less than excellent review of this place as my family and I frequently dine here and, up until this visit, the experience has always been fabulous! However, a few reasons for my less than stellar review: 1) The waiter left before we were done ordering and rarely came back to check on us. A different waiter saved the day and picked up the slack (thank you to whoever you were). 2) With the exception of our twin toddlers, everyone ordered steak this visit. My husband and I both had the ribeye and found the majority of both of our steaks to be nothing but charred fat. 3) My favorite dish here, the seafood risotto, came out cold.
I hope this visit was just a fluke because I do highly recommend this place otherwise.
Always have loved the pump house. The Seafood risotto was amazing. Our server was friendly and bubbly and made for a great experience. Love the atmosphere of the old building. Noise level was a little high but die down after the dinner rush. We will definitely be back and I recommend this to anyone visiting. Especially in the summer.
Great place for dinner. Enjoyed the ambiance, service was excellent.
Great place to eat while in Fairbanks
My wife and I went to the Pump House for a rare date night on 2/18/18. Ambience was nice, our server was absolutely great. Ordered a spinach and Artichoke dip appetizer that was great. We both ordered steaks from the menu, she ordered a New York and I ordered a rib eye. We both ordered our steaks medium. When the steaks arrived, both steaks were extremely rare. We were hesitant to send them back, but after overhearing a lady from a nearby table send hers back for the same reason, we opted to send ours back as well. Again, our server was great and apologetic for the undercooked (for our taste) meal. When she brought the steaks back, the rib eye I had ordered was in fact cooked to medium and tasted delicious. My wife’s steak however was still severely undercooked. We didn’t send hers back for a 2nd time, but for $35-$40 for a steak we expected a steak cooked to our liking. The flavor was great, the sides were perfect, however I would be hesitant to order another steak from their menu.
Food is spectacular and the service is top notch. Historic building in a beautiful setting in both summer and winter.
The seafood risotto can’t be improved upon. Great food and service.
Excellent food and service. We were quickly seated and served beverages. My favorite course is always the dessert. They are all amazing and they never disappoint in presentation or taste.
Tables are way too small. Table for four fits two. 3 if you are small
We went to the Pump House to celebrate Christmas(Belatedly)and Valentine's Day. We ate until we were ready to burst. We've eaten at the Pump House before and have always loved it. This was no exception. I did miss the shrimp but the rest of the meal was just excellent! The only thing I'm sad about is that we don't have enough money to eat there more often!
Our server had 3 big tops, which meant that tip was worth more than mine. We saw him a lot as he walked on by us. Never asked how we were doing or how our food was. Never asked if we needed anything. Waited a long time for refills twice. It would have been nice to feel like we were important too. The food was delicious though.
Wonderful historic atmosphere. Excellant wait staff. Truly Alaskan fare with comfort food favorites. An more than exceptional place.
Excellent restaurant! The King Crab and Seafood Stew were fantastic. Scallop app and spinach salad also very good. Attentive service. Pump House and Lavelle's Bistro the two best in Fairbanks.
the Alaskan Salmon Tower is Amazing
te service is great
The Pump House's brunch is the best all you can eat buffet in Fairbanks. It may not have the biggest selection of dishes, but all of them are beautifully done and delicious. I love their creme brûlées! If I have a visitor in town over the weekend, this is where I always take them.
Always love it but realized there were 4 of us adults and a child. I did not eat. On a special Competitor diet but was charged anyway. I did not eat at all.
My guy Ivan Sharp paid using his credit card and I asked him after we had already left. It was Sunday Beunch on the 2nd.
Great food and incomparable custome service and hospitality.
We went for the Thanksgiving buffet, and the variety and quality of the selections were outstanding. Service was excellent - waitress frequently stopped to check on us and refill drinks.
We were there for thanks giving dinner. Service and selection was great the only low mark was smoked salmon didn’t have much flavor.
Great restaurant, lots of choices off the menu. Yummy food especially the red deer tenderloin. Love the decor.
It's my Go To place. Birthdays, Holidays, Friends passing through town.
