We enjoy the Pullman Kitchen. We dined there to celebrate my husband's birthday. They charged a corkage fee of $10 for the first bottle of wine and $15 if you bring a second. I thought this was very reasonable. Our starter was delicious! The main courses were all very good and were finished by all. The server was great! They comped us a desert for my husband and sang happy birthday to him. Easy parking, we got right in and overall, a very good experience. We'll return.
This was my second time to the Pullman Kitchen and I was anxious to bring my husband and two sons who are all very into cooking, etc. Everyone raved about our dinner and we all pigged out. Also, the staff was just amazing - our waiter from New Jersey deserved every bit of his tip.
One of may favorite restaurants.
A couple things to maybe improve on....
Appetizers...give equal amount for each person...not 3 for 2..etc.
Servers should be updated on specials, etc.
Great food...Love their desserts!!yumm!!
They seated us in the back section (sort of like an annex to the original space). We are familiar with the layout since Syrah (a prior restaurant had the same layout). It was quiet and intimate and made conversation much easier than in their main space. Our server was helpful, funny and efficient, and the food was excellent. We will definitely make this a "go to" place. The location just off Railroad Square makes the crowds less and parking easier.
it was overpriced for a good meal... they had no sparkling water, and our waiter got an attitude... there were other waiters with better attitudes but we only talked to her briefly.
We loved the food. Tomato soup was best ever. Daily fish was incredible and big. Could not finish it. But as non-drinker I would have loved a na beer option.
This is an excellent place—unpretentious, friendly, with creative cooking and fresh local ingredients. Wine list isn’t huge but it’s very well-conceived and has something for everyone. Prices seem very fair and service is excellent. We loved the pork, beets, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. Only disappointment was the duck confit—quite dry and probably overcooked. This was my third time at this restaurant and I like it a lot.
Fish tacos were excellent!
First time here and it was very good. We had the pork and steak and they were both cooked just as we like and the sides were equally good. Prices are very reasonable. Only downside was the lack of a full bar. Definitely recommend.
The service was very good. However the food was a disappointment. The chicken with spinach pancakes which is their star item was really disappointing,,,dry, tough, although the pancakes were good. The fish taco was ok as far as the fish went but too stuffed with cabbage, the hamburger ok. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but the food was "meh".
Very nice spot for lunch in the historic area of Santa Rosa. Our group had the Cobb Salad, Double cheeseburger and fish tacos. It was a very close call between the fish tacos and the burger, but the burger got the top vote.
A pleasant surprise...a Santa Rosa gem👍🏼
Excellent food, great service. I had the mussels and they were delicious, excellent broth. Ready to go back for more.
Our waiter was very attentive and offered us several different wines to taste before deciding on the perfect bottle. I highly recommend the grilled brussel sprot appetizer. Incredible mix of flavors. My vegetarian risooto was to die for. Creamy and full of wondeful tastes. My only complaints are the music could be gentler and the sun shades on west windows did not block well. The sun was in my friends eyes for the first hour. Otherwise, a great place to eat and drink.
Went for the restaurant week prefix dinner menu advertised for $29 ...sat down and was told "the ad was wrong it's $39 sorry " ....had I known that I would have gone directly to Jon Ash ( which I promptly did) after no attempt to offer a consolidation for their bait and switch tactic. How about "sorry, we'll still honor what's advertised , that's our name and reputation to uphold" or at least offer a comped drink .... something!?!
Again , went directly to Jon Ash and gave them $150 in business instead for a superb meal, atmosphere and service.
Your loss Pullman ... now and in the future via word of mouth, yelp, FB, Twitter , instagram etc.....
Best vegetable dishes, that I’ve found, anywhere.....fried green tomatoes and fried Brussel sprouts with Fresno chili’s & walnuts, yay no bacon! It seems like most restaurants have pork in everything 😞
Husband loves the steak, and, yes, pork chop dinner
And the homemade Carmel ice cream just fab
I took friends there for Restaurant Week. The food, as always, was amazing. It seemed a bit short staffed and it took longer than usual to get the food. However, being Restaurant Week it stands to reason they'd be busier than normal. Love this place!
The Pullman Kitchen is a good spot for a good casual meal and nice service. This visit was specifically for Restaurant Week. We were disappointed in their menu choice for restaurant week so ordered off the menu. The food is always good so we weren't disappointed in our meals. My favorite appetizer is the fried green tomatoes! Not a lot of restaurants have them, especially out of season. They were yummy.
There were 4 of us and we had a delightful evening. Food was delicious. We had the tasting menu which was generous. Great experience.
Food & Service were top notch. Room was a bit cold-needed the heat turned up. Fairly priced wine list. Have been before and will go again.
Best brunch in Santa Rosa! Dinner is great here too. Casual atmosphere, and excellent service. Great menu, I've eaten here several times, and never been disappointed.
We had a very delicious dinner on the spur of the moment. Good service and mostly friendly staff.
The food & service are consistently good. The baby kale salad is delicious - always perfect, fresh greens, just the right amount of cheese & pine nuts are fresh (so important). Have had the sturgeon, which is difficult to find on most menus, on three occasions - always perfectly done. Small wine list, but some nice selections @ a fair price.
Front room (main dining room) can be noisy - side room preferable for conversation. Service is knowledgeable, attentive and efficient.
Had birthday dinner at the Pullman Kitchen. Have eaten lunch there before, but this was the first dinner and it was excellent. We were seated and served promptly. The duck confit is exceptional and the CalStar wine delicious. The bread and olive oil served with the meal was another highlight. Will return.
The food was wonderful and the service great. Good variety of options on the menu. For starters we had the fried green tomatoes and the Brussel sprouts - both were delicious. I had the fish tacos and absolutely loved them. My husband had the burger which was great. Will definitely dine here again.
Fish was dry. Limited wines by the glass. Server inattentive at start of meal. Great ice cream.
We first ate at Pullman Kitchen when they opened, and went many times. For some reason, we had not been there (too many other choices in Sonoma County)! We decided to go for Valentine's Dinner. It was terrific. I had the duck confit which was just about the best I have ever had anywhere! My wife had a vegetarian option which she loved. Wonderful salad with pumpkin seeds, and other goodies! Couldn't decide about dessert. We are not chocolate fans but ordered the budino anyway! I told the chocoholic friends it was "to die for!" Our waiter, Steve, told us he was relatively new! He was outstanding. A friendly guy who just made the Valentine's Dinner that much more fun. We might even go back to see him!!!! We will most certainly return soon. Maybe brunch??
My wife and I have been to The Pullman Kitchen for Sunday brunch a few times and have loved it. So we decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day there. We weren’t disappointed. It was great! We enjoyed the food, the ambience, and the service. We have already recommended you to several friends and will continue to do so.
Excellent food! Very attentive (and funny) waiter. Fish was awesome.
Good food, well prepared. Nice selection of interesting items on a small menu that frequently has several specials. On several recent visits, sturgeon was offered - somewhat unusual to have this fish on a California menu - it was well prepared and perfectly cooked.
Service is always prompt, efficient and pleasant. If you ask for the side room, it is quite and good for conversation.
Small, but good selection of wine to pair with food.
Convenient parking across the street.
Worst experience. Showed up and was told by the manager that we didn’t have a reservation despite showing them the reservation I made with Open Table. They were hosting a special event, either the restaurant or Open table ruined my night. Both the Pullman and Open Table need to get their act together because someone dropped the ball. Please respond with compensation.
i have been to pullman many times.
never a disappointment.
We really enjoyed our experience at Pullman Kitchen. The server was excellent, extremely polite and professional. Our entrees were delicious, especially the vegetarian option. The fried green tomato appetizer was so food we almost ordered it twice. This place is great, check it out!
Our waitress got our order quickly and our food arrived in 10 minutes! We were on a schedule for a concert and finished leisurely with time to spare! Wonderful foo, too!
Andrew, our waiter, was xlnt in describing the menu and the special. We started by sharing the steamed mussels which were wonderfully seasoned. I had the special which was also the fish of the day, Sturgeon, and it was absolutely delicious/hot and flavorful served over spaetzle with fingerling potatoes. My daughters duck confit, crisp on the outside while moist and tender on the inside also served over spaetzle was perfect. Pullman is our favorite 'go to' spot in Santa Rosa.....Great Service and Great Food!!!!
Food and service quite good. Chairs a bit uncomfortable. Nice comfortable spot - just would prefer a more comfortable chair.
I was only in Santa Rosa for one night and I wanted to check out the downtown area. I selected Pullman Kitchen based on the Yelp reviews which were generally very good.
Pullman Kitchen has a nice interior and friendly staff. I ad the bacon-wrapped dates to start and they were good if a little squishy. The key to a good bacon-wrapped date is that you can't make them ahead of time and keep warm. Otherwise they get squishy.
I had the Squash Risotto main course. It was very soupy. Risotto must be made to order or the rice grains absorb too much water and fall apart. The flavors were very good despite the soupiness.
I saw others in the restaurant getting good-looking items and I would definitely give them another chance.
We went before the theater at 6pm and were able to get a table in the hallway.
We have gone to Pullman's a few time now. It is always excellent. It has been a date night place for my husband and I.
