The Pullman Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
It is always a pleasure to dine at Pullman Kitchen. The food is fresh and creative, there is a good wine list as well as a large selection of beers. The service is top notch but not overly intrusive. It is one of those rare places where everything works as it should.
We didn't know they only served a brunch menu on Saturday's so at 2pm when we had already had breakfast the only real option that didn't have eggs was a burger or salad. It was 95f outside so we opted for kale salads and fries. They were good. The wine list was okay but the red wines were served warmer than they should have been and the pours were pretty small. Service was adequate. Just really nothing to write home about...
Incredibly slow service. The waitress looked at our table several times and continued to wait on the table next to us even though they were seated after us. She brought them menus, took their order and brought drinks before coming over. Our food came and they forgot my son's order. No one checked on us for 5 minutes and I finally had to glad down 2 people to ask about it. 15 mins later burning hot chicken and fries came out after all of us were done. He's 5 so shared food with us until it came and had to wait another 10 for it to cool. They didn't charge us for his food which is appreciated but they also didn't apologize or ask how anything was.
This is the third time this year that we have visited The Pullman Kitchen this year. Once inside near the kitchen which is absolutely my favorite and twice outside in the corridor because we wanted quiet. This visit we tried some new menu items which we loved and we ordered some old favorites which were right now. They desserts were OK and I would like to see some new items introduced. Our waitperson was the best even through he was new to Pullmans Kitchen. I will go back for the food but also because of the service we have always received.
Yummy food - someone's actually creating dishes. It's refreshing to enjoy the details of a well created dish. It shouldn't seem complex and yet be layered with yum. This was all that. Example, the asparagus appetizer was listed as, "Charred Delta Asparagus: English pea puree, spicy herb salad, radishes" The perfect bite had the heat the cool the smooth and the crunch - so many places miss these little details that make the night. The awesome continued with the dinner, dessert and the service. The service was exceptional and each person served as a team. Looking forward to further exploring the menu now that I've found this place.
We were looking for a nice casual but fast dinner and we got just that. After a long day of wine tasting, we wanted good food but not the full meal. This place was perfect for that. It was just the two of us, but there were families there too. Service was fast and attentive. I recommend the fish tacos. They were tasty.
I had great hopes but three staff seemed completely unable to seat our table of two even with reservations. The place wasn't full, the staff just didn't seem to know how to seat folks. We finally donget a seat and the three tables around us remained dirty and uncleared of dishes from previous diners for 25 minutes. Ewww. I didn't want to look at that.
They were out of lagunitas and pasta, so you couldn't have the rabbit dish... the two things my fiancé went there for, so that was disappointing.
The asparagus appetizer was delicious and I could eat that everyday, but the mole was so devoid of flavor, I barely had a couple of bites.
The apricot ice cream was so cloyingly sweet, I couldn't have but a nibble (and I NEVER turn down sweets).
Overall, it just missed the mark for me.
Our table was ready when we arrived. Very few customers. We got our menus and water in a timely fashion.
Feel the menu is a little light on salads for summer lunch dining. We ordered the fish tacos a plate of two which we split. They were superb. Very tasty we both agreed.
My iced tea was never refilled by the server which I felt was an oversight.
