The Pub by Wegmans Collegeville Ratings and Reviews
The disconnect here coninues to be the lack of urgency to coordinate hot food from the kitchen to the table before getting cold. This occurs in the kitchen as different stations prepare items before others leaving items completed while others not even started yet. Then servers do not pick up until all are completed. The result is wonderful food and ingredients arriving in poor condition. Wegmans, please review your processes as this also occurs at your King of
I have dined here several times because they offer a gluten sensitive menu, however this last time the gluten free options seemed to be reduced a good bit. It would be VERY easy for them to have an extensive gluten sensitive menu because they have ALL the ingredients right on hand in their store. My biggest suggestion would be expanding that menu.
The fried oyster poboy was good with a nice breading, but the crab cakes were heavy on the filler. Since we’re not from the area we didn’t realize the pub was inside a grocery store, which was a surprise, but they separate the area nicely from the store. We had a new server who had a few issues with speed of service, especially when waiting for the bill.
I love eating here and always order the same thing. Unfortunately this time the dish was not good. I mentioned it to the manager who was very nice and said he'd let the chefs know it didn't meet expectations. I will still dine here as I am sure it was an isolated incident.
I don't usually eat at the Pub,however, I was excited to see that I was able to get to the Lobsterfest. I love vegetables. I love lobster. So I ordered the lobster salad which was good. But I wish they would have had a larger variety of vegetables in the salad.
Also, my daughter was not very happy with the hamburger. It was cooked perfectly...just different.
Maybe next visit will be better.
The service was excellent.
My husband and I love going here. We go at least 3-4 times a month. This visit was a little disappointing. My husband's entree was cold. Our server was extremely slow. Ordered second round of drinks and when he brought over the order he left the empty glasses on table. I think this place is better on the weekends then at the beginning of the week.
Roast beef au jus sandwich was delicious. My husband had the beer battered flounder which was delicious. HOWEVER he had it 2 days before at Wegmans in k of p and had 2 large pices of fish. Sadly YOUR serving ONLY came with 1 :(. Guess we will head there next time, despite the fact we live much closer to collegeville
Like most other fast casual restaurants, Wegmans Pub food is too salty. You end up with water retention the next 24 hours if not longer. I wonder if the Wegmans family has dined there and rated the food.
The rolls served while waiting for the meal is a hit with the kids, though, so there are pluses.
The receptionist wasn't able to find our reservation but was able to seat us right away, not sure whether this is a system problem or a training problem.
The noise level is a bit higher than I am used to. The cooking area is right in the center of the restaurant, so you can hear everything. A few times, someone dropped a pan and made very loud, startling noises.
It is up to you what is important to you while dining out, but I won't pay full price to dine there and would only return if there's a good value coupon.
We had a late lunch before our NYE plans. The Pub was closing soon after our reserved time, but the staff was gracious and unhurried. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer was spicy, fresh, and big enough for an entree. The salmon Caesar salad was delicious as well. We weren't drinking that early in the day, but the beer list was extensive and tempting . It's fun to enjoy a sit-down meal while others shop behind you. Like America's corporate answer to the Parisian sidewalk cafe!
Wegman's Pub is all the amazingness of Wegman's cooked and served to you. Pricing is fair, service is friendly, and the menu continually changes to fit the season. The specials in particular tend to be good value and ever changing based upon their inventory.
