   Service was friendly but the food was generally very bland and tasteless. My husband hd Cullen Skink with 2 pcs of fish in it and no taste. The Macaroni Side had no flavour at all, however the Salmon and Goats cheese starters were both very good. Mixed bag but would have expected better across the board.

   Food was expensive and mediocre, nothing like meals we have had there before. 7 eating but only 3 had starters which were served at same time as the mains for the others, then we got our mains when the others were already finished, was bizarre way to serve a meal

   Really Really disappointing. Had high hopes for this restaurant. Had cod & duck for mains, served lukewarm Duck portion tiny, two small pieces of duck. Service was slow and at times non existant. Tbe cheese plates saved the meal. Lots of guests looking around to get drinks/ pay bills etc Would not recommend.

    The service was OK but after we arrived it did get busy. We arrived for lunch & the waiter only brought drinks menu/wine list initially. The food was very good but I had the linguine & the portion was a bit small, especially compared to my friends burger and fish

    Food was good with the exception of the ristotto had to be returned and the second attempt to serve did not resolve the issue. Would question dog friendly as ambience was ruined by barking dog. This should be monitored and owners reminded of dog behaviour eitquette

    What an incredible restaurant! Gorgeous building/dining room. Impeccable service. Everything was SO delicious from drinks to starters to dessert. Thank you so much for such a lovely evening. If we lived in Edinburgh we would be back regularly. Truly a stellar experience.

    At this place apparently the duck can only be served pink ("like, very very pink") or well done. This was the first thing that really baffled me, and it was actually pretty funny, but I have never heard such a thing for such a fancy lookin place to not be able to cook a duck properly. It really makes no sense because surely you put duck in the oven, and after 30 minutes, it's pink, 50 minutes, it's well done, so why not take it out at 40??? This was the first problem. The second issue was I ordered the creme brulee, quite excited about that, but it came out at it was literally not cooked (like not at all). It was a soup! My mother insisted I send it back (I really hate doing that), but the point was that it was literally not cooked and was soupy, and contained raw egg, so anyway, a lovely server came by and was able to bring my creme brulee back, and I asked for just a new one. Well, amusingly, the server comes back with a solemn look on her face and says, "I'm sorry, you cannot have the creme brulee, because *all* the creme brulees are like that".... HUH?! And we were like the last table to be seated so all night they've been serving souping uncooked creme brulees to people?? At the end, my mother (kindly) paid the bill, but I noticed only after that she had paid for the creme brulee that I didn't eat (omg). A server came by and asked if something was wrong because they saw us scrutinizing the bill. My mother said that it was nothing other than we accidentally paid for the creme brulee. They said they would try to refund it, but the manager came over and said it usually takes 3-5 business days after a form was filled out by us, but after the look on my mother's face (after just kind of a rollercoaster of a meal), they said they would try to expedite it. Anyway, the manager was very proud of themselves when they refunded us not only for the creme brulee but the service charge (the 70p) associated with it. Anyway, if you go here avoid the duck and creme brulee lol

    Food is very good and not in itself too badly priced. Add-ons (e.g. water) are expensive. Service is charged, though the service in fact was pretty inept. My companion and I both arrived early, and were shown, despite referring to the same booking by name, to separate tables in different parts of the restaurant. It was 25 minutes before we realised we were both already there. The restaurant is in Edinburgh, but no one seems to understand even a mild Scottish accent.

    Our server, Rosemary was fantastic! The food recommendations that she gave were spot on! Awesome fish & chips, and my husband had the King Prawn Linguini, he said it was great. And Rosemary recommended the Scotch Egg which was DELISH! 10/10 would recommend!

    Overall a good rating, with the slow service being salvaged by our very kind waiter. Food outstanding, some dishes nothing special but all beautifully presented. Lovely atmosphere, would return where hopefully after the festive period the service will be faster.

    Food and ambience great but all let down by poor service. We had a new waitress who was lovely but her 1st day and little help given by senior staff. Multiple errors by diff people Warm water served, one main not ordered, charged for 2 drinks never ordered and generally had to always ask for things which should have been second nature. Suggest more training and better management. Sl spoilt otherwise gt evening.

    When booking our table I said one person would be eating gluten free, but there was very limited options for this. No Pinot Grigio available so I was offered a Sauvignon Blanc and charged £11.80 for a small glass - this is extortionate pricing! Mix up with soft drinks order also, so altogether not a brilliant experience - average at best.

    Had a lovely meal with friends, food was delicious and served quickly. Lovely space and decorated nicely for Christmas. Everything was great till we asked for the desert menu then the staff seemed to disappear. However once we found someone they served us quickly. Would definitely go back again.

    Excellent service. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive. Our meal went at the right pace and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. A lovely place to enjoy. The salmon salad main was more like a starter with not much variety in the dish but the cullen skink starter was absolutely amazing - so tasty! We’ll definitely be back!

    Stunning food, atmosphere and decor. Staff friendly and attentive. During our meal we felt the temperature was on the cusp of being cold but it was ok. Really enjoyed our meal and drinks. The cocktails with Scottish connections and classy names were a nice touch in keeping with the tone of the restaurant. We always tip well but as we didn’t like that 10% was added on without our choice we just stuck to that. If it hadn’t been added we’d have certainly given more.

    Unfortunately the service at dinner was terrible , our waitress looked miserable all evening and was very inattentive . We had to keep asking for things. The music in the restaurant was far to loud so everyone was having to shout . My husband went to the toilet and was met with security hauling a man out of the toilets for taking drugs The food was less than average We won’t be returning to the Printing press in a hurry

    We booked months in advance and was very much looking forward to our visit. On arrival we were taken to our table which wasn’t the best. We waited 20 mins to be served, I went to the bar to order but they said we will come over. The drinks arrived, one drink was spilt while placing on table and no effort made to clean it up. Very disappointed

    Poor service. Main course arrived the same time as starters. No cutlery, ignored when requested cutlery and food cold by the time it arrived. Only one main course arrived when it was due. Despite mentioning one more was ordered it never arrived. We asked to leave. Apology offered and no payment required. Total disaster.

    The restaurant was too cold, we didn't warm up in the whole time we were there. It also lacks atmosphere. It's a lovely building and the drinks area was busy but the restaurant was quiet and had no real ambience. The food quality is good but the portions are on the small side and we were not particularly full afterwards. The service is good but overall we didn't feel it was good value for the money.

    Service was very slow, difficult to attract waiter's attention, got a couple of things wrong. Duck breast main course was disappointing - two small pieces of duck, overcooked, skin not crispy, poor presentation. Dessert menu uninspiring - could have been any of dozens of other restaurants - the ubiquitous sticky toffee pudding, creme brûlée, etc.
