The Prime Rib
Excellent all the way around !! Fitz the bartender is fantastic.
Great prime rib dinner! Clams casino also very nice. Service was impeccable. I give few restaurants a five star rating but this meal and service deserved it.
Fabulous in every way as always.
This is our go to place for a special evening out. Delicious food, excellent wines by the glass or bottle, attentive and professional service and relaxing piano music to complete the elegant dining experience!
It just wasn’t as good this time as I had hoped. We each had the rib eye instead of the prime rib. It wasn’t cooked properly and for a prime piece of meat, it was dry. I can cook a better steak at home. I live out of town and have eaten here every time for my last four trips. I don’t think I will go back unless it’s for a drink. I still like the Art Deco vibe, but the food isn’t up to par.
This restaurant was a favorite for special occasions when we lived in the Washington, DC area years ago. We were glad to have the opportunity to go there again. The food and service were terrific and the piano music very enjoyable. An all time favorite.
The Prime Rib is our favorite place to celebrate -- did not disappoint
Love this restaurant , been going there for 40 years, probably my favorite to return to at least once or twice a year.
What a classy joint! I showed up not knowing this place had a dress code, but no matter, Larry hooked me up with a jacket and showed my wife and I to the bar. They encourage you to take your time here; very refreshing! The food was superb. I had the 28oz. prime rib and it was perfect and too much. My wife had the fillet and loved it. The potatoes au gratin were on point. This is my new favorite steakhouse in D.C.. Oh, and don't forget to ask Larry to show you a magic trick. He's a consummate professional magician!
I’ve known the Prime Rib for 20 years and every time I come to DC I make a reservation. The service is over the top, food is great and the ambiance makes you feel you would never leave. A must try when you’re in Washington.
Service is impeccable. The food is of the finest quality, with many specials that are hard to pass up. Valet parking is very convenient. Highly recommend.
very aesthetically dated, though very neat and clean. Low # of diners in the restaurant allowed for easy conversation, the point of my meeting friends. Prime rib was excellent. Everything else adequate, no more
The waitstaff was topnotch. The ambiance was the standout for me. What a beautiful place. It felt like 1960. The food was amazing, too!
It was such a good experience really wish they would have done something special for my husbands birthday I did put it in the reservation but all it in it was a great night and my husband really enjoyed it.
As always we had an exceptional service and food experience at The Prime Rib. My party of 4 ordered a wide variety of specials and off the menu items. Of course the piano player and occasional song added to a nice evening.. Chris our waiter was terrific.
Classic. Clubby. Perfect. Our family has been going to both the DC and Baltimore for decades.
This was actually the worst Prime Rib I’ve ever tasted. Very dry and came cold. The restaurant was empty and yet we could not get the attention of the waiter. The food cost about triple what it should and I don’t mind if the food was amazing. It was actually awful. Skip this place.
Top class restaurant, surely the best in town. The restaurant has a relaxed and calm ambience about it and nothing is too much trouble for the waiters. Everything about this place is enjoyable and the food is superb.
We decided on PR for the Prime Rib and it did not disappoint. It was juicy, perfection on the plate. The restaurant is spotless, my kind of old world elegant.
The potato skins were a unique feature and delicious.
Wine list was excellent, they under poured my bourbon but then made up for it with a double pour!! The escargot was excellent and my husband enjoyed the crab imperial. My crab cake was ok. The creamed spinach was too salty and the garlic on my broccoli rabe was burned. BUT the quality of the meat and phenomenal service made up for the sides. We will certainly return.
This is and has been my favorite restaurant in DC for years. Whether for a business dinner or a special date, it always is fabulous.
Just love this restaurant! Fairly high priced for what you get but overall it is the food, service and experience that keeps bringing me back.
Fabulous restaurant! Great decor and staff. The food is delicious!
Fantastic crab cakes. Romantic ambience. Luxurious.
The Prime Rib restaurant never disappoints. It remains a constant high quality establishment in every aspect of a fine dining experience without becoming "old hat".
One of our favorite places to dine at great atmosphere and outstanding service. Love it.
Still one of our favorite restaurants
We had a wonderful dinner and my husband Birthday was so nice! Takin made the evening worthwhile. He’s an excellent pianist! Played beautifully. Foot was delicious and service was excellent! Ambiance and decor was wonderful .
Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!
I love The Prime Rib restaurant, unfortunately I can’t afford the prices. The fact that they extended restaurant week gave me and my family a chance to experience some outstanding food and service. If you haven’t had an opportunity to try the Prime Rib mark this place down on your “must do” list. (The cocktails were delicious as well!🍸)
We've been dining here for years, however, had not been back for 3 years until this past weekend. I was so disappointed. There were 4 of us attending for restaurant week. First, they now charge $5.00 to get the prime rib as an upgrade. The mash potatoes were watery like baby food and cream spinach as well. Nothing had seasoning -- all was blend including the prime rib. The service was ok -- felt like we were being rushed out. Key Lime pie tasted just like condensed milk. Our bill came close to $500.00 and felt I could have done much better at Longhorn steak house. Needless to say, I won't be back!!!
Tables are uncomfortably close. Like six inches apart. Wouldn't have mattered had their been music or a high enough noise level, but I had to ask to be moved because the people next to could hear every single thing. This is not the place for a private conversation. Had asked for a private table early on and was ignored.
The service was so poor that we opted to get our check and leave before the last course was served. My husbands Prime rib was great, but my petit filet was pretty flavorless and not high quality. I have never sent food back, but I had to in this case. We had been looking forward to a nice date night for so long, and were left extremely disappointed.
Fabulous dinner. Top notch service.
We had a wonderful restaurant week visit! Service was responsive, food was cooked perfectly, and the valet parking made getting there a breeze. Can’t wait to go back!
We were terribly disappointed in the restaurant week offerings. The prime rib was thin cut and had much fat. The Crab Imperial was akin to an appetizer - not much of it. When we asked that our leftovers be boxed, we ended up with only one servings of sides, not the two we sent back to the kitchen.
For people who want to enjoy a great dinner and atmosphere for a special occasion, I want to suggest visiting Prime Rib for a memorable event. We enjoyed this restaurant for restaurant week and from start to finish, it will be a time I will never forget. I enjoyed receiving valet parking on my arrival and was immediately seated. The restaurant atmosphere was amazingly beautiful and the service we received was the best I have received in a long time. There were surprises with potato skins and tiger sauce, and the dinner selections far exceeded expectations. If there was one minor disappointment we experienced, it would be there were no piano player playing during the meal. We hope to return again soon and we hope he will be playing. We definitely appreciated this great restaurant.
Came across this place on trip advisor, looking for somewhere different and certainly found it! Glad I had been to as conference on route so had the obligatory jacket in the case. Great vibe, nice cocktails and as it was Washington restaurant week there was an excellent value menus to be had which we did. Steaks were excellent as was the two guys on piano and double bass. Service was a little slow but I think this was due to the restaurant specials which was a great idea. Good to see some young people putting on the glad rags and getting out to this type of restaurant. Overall an excellent experience.
I had family from Geneva staying with me last week and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Prime RIb. The food, service, ambience were all top notch...and the Restaurant Week Menu was wonderful.
Many thanks for making this such a special night out!
Best service EVER! The wait staff was EXCELLENT!!! THANK UUUU!
