We had a wonderful meal at the Prime Rib and enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. The only disappointment was that our server forgot to bring us the leftover food we had planned on taking home with us. Unfortunately we did not realize it until after we left so sadly it was too late!

Nice lunch in this old school style dining room. Delicious food and great service but spending $60 on an appetizer, salad, drink and dessert seems excessive.

Like eating prime rib in 1958. Quiet, civilized, classic steak house food with competent staff. Love it here.

I have been to this restaurant for over 25 years and love it. But tonight the service was the worst I have ever had. Very disappointing.

The server took several smoke breaks during the time he attended to us and smelled horribly each time he did. In addition, he rudely reached On to my wife’s plate while she was eating to remove a cup of tartar sauce.

The evening was sullied by the above.

A classic in every sense of the word! Excellent from the service to the food. Best lobster with crab imperial anywhere in DC. Portions are large so plan to take home. Service was impeccable and friendly. Always a treat to dine at Prime Rib. Will return again and again.

Whenever I have a fine dining experience I want it to be perfect. My steak wasn’t cooked medium as requested. The waiter graciously ordered me another steak. The sides I purchased with my meal sat at the table while a new steak was prepared. I wasn’t asked if I’d like fresh sides. Since the guests with me were already eating, I didn’t want to prolong the meal further by asking for a Hot baked potato & hot asparagus. The second steak was cooked perfectly. In the past when a steak isn’t prepared correctly someone from management comes to the table and apologizes. Didn’t happen. Then when I arrived home, my take home portion of my meal wasn’t mine. I was given the meal of the other guest at my table. That was disappointing.

We always go to the Prime Rib when we want to be pampered. You feel like you are in a 1950’s summer club. The steaks are perfectly prepared and the sautéed spinach is remarkable. I like the crab cocktail too.

They had no Frangelico for my wife and ripped me off for $75 for a thimbleful of scotch and were unapologetic and almost belligerent when we complained to Mgmt. Going back to The Palm where I get respect and equally good food. The hype on PR is just that, hype.

I recently had a great dinner at Prime Rib and had such an amazing time that I can't wait to return. I fully appreciated the ambiance, the excellent food and great service from Juan, and especially the background music played by their piano player. When originally looking at their website, I noticed it stated it was one of the five most romantic restaurants in the United States and this certainly did not disappoint me. Whether it is a romantic occasion or dinner with a small group, this is the best restaurant to visit.

I would recommend The Prime Rib with some reservations. We were there for Restaurant Week, so we were paying $35 for a 3 course meal, which is substantively below the regular Prime Rib price point. I found that the cocktails were all on the small size in spite of the price. The waiter was very condescending to us since we were doing the restaurant week menu, and I would not be compelled to return. When my wife ordered a second cocktail, he asked acted totally inconvenienced. Once the water glasses were empty at the end of the meal, we could never find a server to bring more prior to the drive home. The ambiance is a 1940's-50' supper club with live music, which we love since it so rare to find this kind of place any more. However, the pianist had a small repertoire, and we heard some songs repeat 3 times during our 3 hour visit. Just not up to par with what it should have been at this price point. We so enjoy The Prime Rib in Philadelphia, this was a disappointment, even with the reduced pricing.

Underwhelming experience at The Prime Rib. The food and drinks were pretty good, but not great. Service was okay. Had a reservation, arrived early, and weren’t seated until over a half hour after reservation time. Had mentioned on our reservation that dinner was for our first wedding anniversary and didn’t get so much as a “happy anniversary” from the staff. The staff seemed tired ans detached. Not sure if our experience was because it was restaurant week. A bit disappointed and probably won’t be back.

Had to wait when we got there even though we had a reservation. The service was all over the place. Late to get to our table for drinks, dropping utensils, even dropped part of our food. Long wait between appetizer and entree. Bus boys were rude. Not good impression overall

Given the price, it felt like they wanted to have us out asap; we got the desert together with the check and the waiter kept nervously waiting in front out table. A place of this (anticipated) calibre, I would have thought of better. Also the table to gave us was kind of not the nicest one they had, despite many free ones that were much nicer and free (also when we left). We could have said something, but ,gain, I would have expected them to give us once table (if free). They food was pretty good.

This was a busy night for Prime Rib and it was ok. The service was extremely slow. The entree came out well but the side orders and dessert were a disappointment. I went once before and it was splendid from start to finish but this time I felt disappointed. The sides were lukewarm. The appetizer salad was absolutely disgusting and left over.
The creamed spinach was flavorless. The creme brûlée wasn’t good either tasted rushed and undercooked. I ordered a twice baked potato not only was it not cooked thoroughly but the outer portion burnt to a crisp and not enough of ingredients in the inside of the potato tasted really thrown together. I will come again when I assume they are less busy. But overall a semi bad night of eating

What a wonderful evening at the Prime Rib. Juan was superior in his service; the food was exquisite (imagine a perfectly prepared prime rib and au jus with mashed potatoes and spinach; and the ambiance so lovely. The piano music was so pleasant in the background. All in all, a splendid evening.

Lovely place for a date. Very old school, so make sure your male counterparts have a vest or dinner jacket. If not they might have one available to borrow.
