Felt treated like a kid during the entire meal. There were fruit flies at the table through the meal. Was rushed through the meal to seat more people, which were overflowing in the waiting area. Would not recommend even though the food was good.
This was the perfect place to go for my sister’s proposal! The staff was excellent, very friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous, they made sure the ring came out at a good time! We enjoyed ourselves, they could not have made the dinner any better!
Expensive but worth it!
Very nice, we were celebrating our 46th anniversary
Great place for steak and fish lovers. Good single malt scotch offerings. Loved the live piano and bass.
Celebrated my mother's birthday there. Ambiance was wonderful, service was attentive once we got started, food excellent choices and all delicious. Piano was a nice touch, maybe a could have been a little softer as background music to not impair conversation (especially with an older adult with some hearing issues). Look forward to returning!
Food was decent, i personally thought it was over priced.
The restaurant was quite full, and this may have been the reason the service was questionable. After waiting a long time to be acknowledged by a waiter, one showed up and asked if we wanted drinks or wine. One member of our party ordered a drink. It never came, and another waiter appeared who seemed to be assigned to our table, too. He asked if we wanted drinks. The cocktail was re-ordered. It was to be on the rocks and wasn't when it finally arrived. It had to be sent back to be corrected. One person's medium rare filet had to be sent back because it was too rare, and my Dover sole was slightly warm not warm or hot. I chose not to have my Dover sole reheated because fish reheated will become mushy. At times we seemed to have two waiters, very pleasant young men, who tried hard but did not seem to communicate with each other. Consequently, we were asked the same questions by each.
Excellent service and food. Wine list is pricier than other high end restaurants I've been to but a good selection nonetheless. Live piano music so if you don't want to be seated near the piano, let the hostess know.
The food and service was phenomenal will definitely be going in the future
Not worth it. By no means am I cheap, but this place is definitely not worth the money. I suspect there may have been something going on behind the scenes that we were not made aware of. Perhaps they were short staffed? Our waiter was a nice guy, but not a great waiter. He was a college student, and not an experienced server. The wait for the main course seemed eternal, and when it came, only 6 of the 7 meals were served. Another 5 minutes passed before I received my meal. My wife had an empty wine glass in front of her for most of the evening, and I had to ask another server that passed by for my drink order that had been forgotten. All things being equal, there are many better options out there. The appetizers and desserts were good, but the entrees were average. The timing was way off, and the food was not hot. It seemed as if it was everyone's first day on the job. At $842 for dinner and tip for a party of 7, this effort was not good enough.
Really liked the whole experiance from drinks at the bar Peter the piano player was excellent and personable and the steaks was great can't belive i haven't been here before !
Can not wait to go back
Prime Rib needs no introduction. It is the best steakhouse you can find. Come and get the signature prime rib and see for yourself. It’s one of a kind.
Food was amazing, service was great too
Absolutely great meal. The steak was like butter with great flavor, escargot perfect and my memory of dessert was obscured by great wine.
The prime rib, what a lovely experience, a lovely waitress, great food, loved the piano player, It was a special birthday for my husband, without even asking the waitress brought him a piece of cake with candle and sang along with us! We Never felt rushed and relaxed after dinner and enjoyed a great dessert. Thank you all, we will be back!
Our experience began with misinformation on the Prime Rib website. As we arrived for our reservation, the website said we can take advantage of valet parking at the Warwick hotel. When we pulled up to the hotel, the attendant informed us if we weren’t staying in the hotel they wouldn’t valet our car and prime rib’s website is incorrect. After entering the restaurant, we were greeted and had a great interaction with coat check. Once seated, that’s where it took a turn for the worst. Our waiter, Vinny/Vincent provided the worst service we’ve ever had. His service alone makes me not want to return and makes me think of I would be treated the same by other servers. We received no introduction, specials/explanation of the menu, suggestions on wines, etc. Yet, the table directly behind us received a “performance” to say the least. Which to note is the only reason why I even know his name, because of what he said to the other table “call me Vinny, like from My Cousin Vinny”. Service was completely different between the 2 tables and very disrespectful. After this experience, I don’t think I would return or recommend this location to anyone.
Used to be a great restaurant, but apparently they have fallen in bad times. Service was generally confused, food was very poorly coursed, and to top it off they entree was a much diminshed serving of their prime rib that was wayyyyy overcooked. Used to be a place I enjoyed. Will not be going back.
Great food, but don't order mixed drinks from the bar as they have almost no alcohol despite the premium charge.
We always enjoy the Prime Rib for special occasions.... The steaks and other menu entrée items are excellent..... the potato skins as an appetizer with the horseradish sauce is wonderful. Service and atmosphere is always exceptional.
This was a very disappointing experience for both me and my wife. Valet Parking was full had to park at a lot 3 blocks away in the rain. Then my wife who I dropped off so she would not have to walk. Had to stand while she waited for me. The building has a large waiting area with no seating. Finally our steaks came out almost still bleeding like tje meat was still alive.
The Prime was one of the most disappointing experiences ive seen from a 5 star restaurant
We started off being told there was no valet parking, so we ended up walking 5 blocks in the rain. One of the reasons we choose this restaurant was that the web page offered valet parking.Once seated, soaking wet from our walk in the rain, we had to ask four times for a wine list. Food was acceptable, but for the prices I expected exceptional not just acceptable. My wife had Dover Sole, which was good. The rest of table had prime rib. Two servings of the bone in and one serving of the regular cut. My bone in prime in was more on the medium well side as opposed to medium rare which was ordered. In all three cases the prime rib was exceedingly fatty. Due to the mediocre food, poor service, and lack of valet parking we will not be back.
Outstanding dining experience. Food was perfect. Service was attentive and the dining room is magical
Very expensive. Prime rib options too large. No small portion options on the menu for prime rib. Overpriced compared to Ruth Chris Steakhouse. Not a good value for the food.
We both had soup, tomato and onion. I had the sweet potato which is good as they put nothing in it. My husband and shrimp cocktail which he liked.
Our server Carlos was outstanding. Very attentive and gave us good suggestions. I had the signature prime rib entree and it was only mediocre. My wife had the filet and enjoyed it. The side dishes were average.
Very good! Besides the noise level from another group, Everything was great, the food was good. They even sung happy Birthday to me at the end. I highly appreciate this place. I would definitely like to recommend it for any special occasions or even a date with your loved one!
Thank you, Prime Rib!
Great food , great service!
I absolutely love this place! The prime rib is the best and the Cadillac margarita I ordered was made to perfection!
Prime Rib is such a beautiful, special restaurant! It is one of our very favorite in the City.! The servers are wonderful. The food is delicious! Our table of 6 were all very happy!
Thank goodness this classic is still the most classic in all Philadelphia. Service continues to be impeccable, and food is deliciously consistent. Keep it up!
Dinner was wonderful. The only complaint was that there was a gift card left for us and bottle of wine which was never presented to us until we asked at the end of the meal when we received the bill. It was a bit embarrassing and at that point the bottle of wine was a mute point, dinner over.
Very good food, a little pricey but great for special nights
You can always depend on this restaurant for a good meal.
Initially, I was looking for a nice restaurant in close proximity to the Academy of Music, in Philadelphia for the Sunday, following the last performance of Les Miserables. I found The Prime Rib via Open Table, and I booked a table for 2 for 9 pm. During intermission, on the night, I realized that the show was going to run later than 9 pm, so I called and spoke with the Maitre 'd, Vinnie to tell him we were going to be late for our reservation. He said "no problem, but if it's going to be later than 9:30 pm, to call and let him know". Low and behold, the show let out right 9:30 pm, so I quick called; and again Vinnie told me to come anyway, and they would do what they can as the kitchen and dining room were starting to breakdown. When we arrived, Vinnie met us and escorted us to an amazing table. We apologized for being so late, but Vinnie would have none of it, he was amazingly accommodating, gracious and kind - treated like old friends. Vinnie, and the entire staff were quintessential professionals.
The cocktails orders were promptly taken, and when served, were perfectly mixed (Old Fashion's), and generously poured. Surprisingly the full menu was still available, including the Prix Fixe offering, which we ordered off. The main courses, Salmon for my guest, and a true med-rare prime rib for myself. I was totally blown away that they still had med-rare cuts available at this very late hour. Both dishes were perfectly prepared, professionally served and delicious on the palate.
I would absolutely recommend The Prime Rib to anyone, and as good as the food was, the experience was substantially more memorable and charming due in large part to the Maitre 'd Vinnie and the entire staff.
I will certainly frequent The Prime Rib again, and recommend it to anyone!
Steaks are delicious as was the huge shrimp cocktails and french onion soup. The ceasar salad was just OK.
Cocktails were also very good but it took way too long to get a drink menu take our order and then get the dinner menu. There is a fine line between fine dining and slow service. I think they must have been short on help. The only excellent service we received was from the waiter who refreshed our water glasses.
The ambiance was very nice with live piano music.
I think one and done for my family.
Love the environment, old school atmosphere and especially the over the top meal. Went to the top of our favorite list of restaurants.
We came for my son in law's birthday and the meal was fantastic. Definitely worth the 50 minute drive during crazy restaurant week in Phila. ( the Prime Rib does not participate). The Prime Rib was full, our service was impeccable and the food was to die for. We would DEFINITELY recommend and return ! A 10+ for the Prime Rib!!
