An old friend came into town and I wanted to show him the best of Baltimore, The Prime Rib never disappoints. Pricey... yes! Does it deliver an experience for you and your guests... without a doubt. My friend was really impressed and the food was as always amazing. Can't go wrong going to The Prime Rib.

Right out of the 70s! However, the signature prime rib, onion rings and au gratin potatoes were spot on, as was the service. Excellent choice for the meal.

The Prime Rib is still the heavyweight champion. I️t is the Sinatra of steakhouses. Classic perfection. Flawless service. The best restaurant in Baltimore.

The Prime Rib has long been my husband’s favorite restaurant. It has been consistently excellent for decades! Sophisticated decor, professional service, delicious food, and talented musicians. What more could you want? Always a pleasure!

Everything was exceptional as would be expected with The Prime Rib; however, my wife and I somehow got the worst table in the entire restaurant. We were nudged in next to a server's station with no room behind my chair. I got bumped about 10 times during dinner and the food trays were flying right over my head. We will go back but will certainly ask for a different table.

Not so special occasion. I thought this was the highest-rated steakhouse in Baltimore. I think not. Perfunctory service, like attending a packed banquet. Standard steakhouse fare, jammed into a tight table for two in overflow dining room while all the fun was next door in the bar. Large noisy table of drunks at arm’s length. Steak chewy. All but impossible to get waiter’s attention for another glass of wine. Oh well...

For appetizers, we had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and Oysters Rockefeller and they both were excellent.

The entrees were mixed. My husband liked his Steak au Poivre. My Signature Cut of Roast Prime Rib was not as good as it used to be. The steak was not tender and lacked flavor. It was almost bland! I was disappointed! The Grilled Asparagus was good and my husband liked the Potato Skins more than I.

The restaurant knew that we were celebrating my birthday so the waiter brought us a Chocolate Mousse Pie with a candle on it. That was sweet! I didn't like chocolate so I ordered the Key Lime pie and my husband ordered a cup of cappuccino.

But, the killer was, we just had a bite of the pie and my husband was still stirring his cappuccino when the waiter placed a check on the table and thanked us for coming.

I was stunned! Really? I felt like they wanted to rush us out of there. We haven't even finished our meal! I was deeply disappointed! I expect more from high-end restaurants like the Prime Rib. I haven't been here in a while and really looked forward to a nice birthday dinner but I left with disappointment. I know the Prime Rib had lowered the dress code but I wondered, had they also lowered the service, too?

Not much to say but whatever they do, they do well. Place was lively on a Saturday night with pleasant piano music. Service is excellent and we always seem to know people there when we go - this Saturday was no exception.

Great drinks at bar, great service, seated at reserved time, top of the line Rockefeller oysters and bread. However what should have been the best was the prime rib and wasn't. The outside which is usually tasty and tender was so tough it could not be chewed for both of us. Never happened before so I don't know what the issue was, and like a fool I never said anything until leaving.

Wife’s birthday. Great food, attentive service, wonderful “old school” atmosphere. No gimmicks, just the real deal. This was our first time at The Prime Rib, but it will not be our last. Do yourself a favor and come here for a memorable dining experience.

We had a fantastic dinner! We came in for the Prime Rib special on Halloween and it was (as always) cooked to perfection. All The food came hot to the table and our service was impeccable! Thank you again for a wonderful dinner. We don't get to come as often as we'd like; but this is hands down, our favorite restaurant in Baltimore! Great to see Bobby again and we enjoyed ourselves! Thank you! Thank you!

Having been fortunate enough to dine at the Prime Rib over 40 years, I know what to expect. I have never been disappointed until this visit. Simply stated, the beef (prime rib) had NO flavor (I have eaten more tasty hamburger). In addition, the meat was a bit tough - usually it is meltingly soft but this required real effort. This has NEVER been the case (even during Restaurant week). Having advised Aaron that neither of us wanted horseradish (why waste it?) the plates arrived simply with a plain slab of beef - when the horseradish comes there is generally a small garnish - tomato/ green leaf...etc. This simply was not an attractive presentation.

I don't like to be disappointed when I am spending this much money on a meal. It will take some serious consideration for me to return to what I have always considered the "prime" restaurant in Baltimore. I have advised friend, visitors, patients, about this restaurant but this recent experience have given me serious misgivings.

I always have been grateful that the Prime Rib would represent top quality from EVERY perspective and, frankly, at the prices charged I expect this. I don't mind paying for a top level meal but I do NOT intend to repeat this recent experience. As I am reminded in my own area of work, there is ALWAYS competition!

The Prime Rib never disappoints and is always a special meal. It's been one of my very favorite dining spots for many years and I always look forward to dining there. With all the new restaurants in town, none compare to the Prime Rib.

There isn't much to say except from start to finish it was a wonderful meal, starting with drinks to dessert. Service was the best. We had someone with us who was a vegetarian who said it was the nicest restaurant in Baltimore she had ever been to and loved the selection of vegetables she was able to pick from. The restaurant was very accommodating.

Every time I have ever eaten here I have thought "I should eat more in often. It is reliably the best restaurant in town." And this time I thought that too, but this time I also thought, again, how special the service is, but particular on this visit the service is what really struck us too (Matthew, as kind and sensitive-to-our-wishes as anyone could possibly be). How is it possible to remember everything we ordered (a complicated order, with little special requests tagged onto everything) without writing it down, and deliver it exactly at the moment WE were ready to exactly the right person? I have no idea how this is done, but add that to a wonderful pianist who could play anything with real jazz talent, and to yes, the best food in town, and what a magnificent evening we had. I must eat here more often, whenever there is reason for going out to dinner for a really good meal with the best of service!

Exceptional service. This offers traditional and formal dining thus men' coat is required. Great for business dinners especially for steakhouse experience. The oyster selection and preparation hit the spot and the corn off the cob is the best I have ever had.

Ambiance is always great however we expected our prime rib meals to be a bit more tender and tasty as they have been in the past. Cheesecake dessert was delicious. We were a bit early for the live entertainment but that has alway been very good in the past.

A classic Baltimore favorite. A very nice change from the chain tourist traps that surround the Inner Harbor.

Food was excellent as always. Our waiter was attentive but did not rush us by any means. He seemed a little abrupt at times, hence only four stars there.

As a special occasion/business dinner restaurant one would usually see men wearing jackets (and often ties). I was surprised to see one patron wearing a sweatshirt. I hope it is not a trend.

Every time I go to the Prime Rib, I ask myself the same two questions. Why did I ever bother to go anywhere else? And, is the price worth it? I always have the same answers--I don't know but I won't do it again and absolutely!

My wife and I always look forward to the perfectly cooked food, the outstanding service from staff we've come to consider friends, and an ambience that is both luxurious and relaxing. We love to dine here because we love the experience--and it is a consistently great one.

We've enjoyed many fine restaurants, but very few--very, very few, match the total experience. Since our very first anniversary experience, my wife and I consider the Prime Rib, our place.

As usual The Prime Rib was the right choice. Fabulous bar. Drinks (martini for me) are the best in town. Dinner was wonderful and the service is outstanding. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and the restaurant made sure to recognize it with a dessert and candle on the house. Very thoughtful. Love this place.

We came to the Prime Rib for what was supposed to be an extra special night and it ended up not being so special. We had to wait a long while for our table, for a waiter, for our drinks, for our menus, and for our plates to be removed. Overall, had an evening of very poor service. The magic and experience that we had hoped for didn't happen. It wasn't what I remembered from years ago. And when I say we waited, we did so to the point where it was awkward. And to add to it all, my husband's salad never came even after asking for it when it didn't come the first time. Something was just off and we felt forgotten. Tables around us came and went and had excellent service, but not us. Even one other waiter noticed and attempted to get our waiter. Our meal was 3 1/2 hours long (7:30-11pm) and my husband had to track our waiter down to pay. Couldn't even tell you his name. They did offer us free potato skins for our wait for our table, however, that was just the beginning.

As far as the food, everything was very good, but just that. Thankfully, they did remember it was my daughter's birthday and brought her a piece of pie and candle. Possibly the lack of service tarnished how we felt about it. Needless to say, I was embarrassed since I made such a big deal about going to my daughter and sad that our night didn't turn out as planned. At this point, we won't be going back. Not for the price we paid.

UPDATE: After writing Prime Rib about my concerns, the manager contacted me promptly the next morning to discuss our experience . He was very concerned and apologetic and offered to remedy the situation. It certainly meant a lot to us that the Prime Rib wanted to "make it right".

My wife and I had our 38th wedding anniversary dinner at The Prime Rib this past Friday night. From the cocktail before dinner at the bar next to the tuxedoed piano player playing classic jazz, the gracious and solicitous waiter, exquisite dinner (prime rib for me, Maryland crab cakes for my wife), and surprise anniversary cake that the Prime Rib gave us on the house, it was a night to remember. If you want a truly special evening that is a throwback to life and dinners when people understood class and gracious living.......go to the Prime Rib!
