The Prime Rib never disappoints: great food, excellent service, Jeff and the trio playing amazing music, and, on this special occasion during Restaurant Week, Brad accommodated a change in reservation time and a traffic-induced late arrival in a most gracious way.
Another memorable evening, thanks to everyone at The Prime Rib.
The service was very good, our server was very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. But overall we were very disappointed in the food and thankful we only had to pay restaurant week prices. My date and I both ordered a filet mignon MR, upon receiving them my dates had a rare center with a MW edges. Mine was MR in the center and medium-MW on the outside. We asked the server to take and look and he agreed they were cooked inappropriately and sent them back. My second filet mignon was even worse, medium center with MW well edges. I was too hungry and ate it anyway. They ending up comping my meal and giving us a round of drinks, which was the appropriate thing to do, however, having a properly cooked steak from #1 zagat rated steak house would have been better. The value and quality of the food did not meet the prices they charge on their menu.
I love this restaurant. The atmosphere and the food are wonderful. It is my favorite date and special occasion restaurant.
I didn't realise it was restaurant week. It was extremely busy. Didn't seem staffed enough for how busy it was but we all enjoyed it! Probably would of spent more on drinks if waiter had checked on us more. Great atmosphere and wonderful night non the less! Food was great!
They offer free valet which was one of the reasons I decided to try this restaurant. When we arrived, they were very welcoming and immediately showed us to our table. The tables are very close together and we felt like both couples on either side were at our same table. They could hear our conversation and vice versa. That set is up for a very awkward experience. Our Waiter was excellent! Quick, attentive, very pleasing and there when we needed him. I ordered the crab imperial and my husband ordered the prime rib on Restaurant Week Menu. Not a typical imperial, but I liked it a lot. Nice fresh lump crab meat and very moist. The Prime Rib looked delicious, but didn’t have seasoning and he said was a little tough(he ordered it MR) My husband is used to the season crust on the outside he typically gets at other places. The creme brûlée was delicious! It was a chilled creme brûlée, but the sugar top was torched to perfection! We took the Choc Mouse pie to go. It was just ok and a very tiny slice.
I ordered a glass of the Sav Blanc and it was also delicious. I would go back for sure for the service and food for the most part. I am not sure I can get past how close the tables are and the awkward lack of privacy. We had to squeeze through and say excuse me to every table on the way out because there are no suggested aisle and it was packed house.
Awesome, as always, this old City Landmark continues to impress with its authentic and simplified delicious food, with no baubles and modern glitz. I love it, as do all our friends.
Disappointing dinner. The family went out to celebrate my birthday. We were there for restaurant week. We had a reservation but had to wait for a table. The waiter was very nice but hard of hearing and slow. It took a long time to order, and then a while to get our salads. We had to wait for a long time for our main courses and then a long time to get the table cleared. The desserts came rather quickly but our reservation was for 7:30 and we didn't get out of there until 9:45. There was an upcharge of $15 for prime rib (the only reason to go there IMO), and that bought only an 8 oz slice which after you account for the fat, was rather skimpy. My son's meat was undercooked but he'd waited so long he was hungry so he didn't want to send it back. The place was crowded and noisy, and the tables are too close together. We have been here numerous times but I'm not sure we will return. I think the service and quality/quantity of food has declined.
Escargot was amazing! The Potato Skins and Caesar Salad weren't that great, won't order those again. Had the Prime Rib which was excellent and cooked to perfection. You can't go to a place called "The Prime Rib" and not try theirs! Key Lime pie was very good. Will be back again.
Good value for Restaurant week. Food was really good.
Prime Rib is a little pricey but its a great place to go for that special occasion. Classy place with good food and great atmosphere.
