The Prime Rib - Baltimore (The Original)

The restaurant was closed and no one contacted to inform that they would be closed due to COVID mandates.

The restaurant was closed. Several people were outside trying to figure out how we each have reservations and nobody called to cancel them in light of the city’s shutdown for covid. Disappointing.

The waiter was great and the food was delicious..

We love The Prime Rib for fine dining and looked forward to Thanksgiving dinner since we have not been there since March 2020. Covid-19 has had its effect there unfortunately: fewer staff working, no busboys, clothed tables empty but for candle light fixtures, our waiter slow at clearing dirty dishes or filling water glasses (only after we requested him to do these tasks), different pianist who seemed much less engaged, quieter atmosphere w far fewer tables and people, etc. BUT, as always, the food was outstanding! Chilean sea bass was prepared perfectly from the grill-- the best fish I have ever eaten! The escargots in garlic butter were divine served w toasted baguette. Was great to see Sean at the door, John (serving as manager) and Mark in the bar. Look forward to returning again to eat at the bar, always delicious and fun. Was good to hear the curbside pick-up dinner business is doing well... would be very sad to ever see them close for lack of business!

Love Prime Rib. Will come back. Can have drinks at the bar which was wonderful. Great service and food and cocktails and wine. And a piano player!

Exceptionally good, attentive service. Good menu selections; great food. Had halibut; was superb. The pianist was also superb; exceptional touch of class.

Reminded us why the prime is a favorite of ours. It’s now back at the top of our rotation.

Great place for special occasions and unbelievably great food. We both had the prime rib-will never order prime rib anywhere else. It was a generous cut, tender and delicious. We had their famous potato skins, crispy and flavorful. Excellent service - can’t wait to return.

This where we come for birthdays and other special occasions. Everything is delicious and we are treated with such courtesy. The rooms are beautiful & designed to support a pleasant dining experience

The food was perfect, service was handle as you would expect from this type of restaurant. Our server Samuel made us feel special. Prime rib is what we thought it would be, but better. Love the piano music.

Good, but not great food. The prime rib and brussel sprouts were well cooked, but bland. Out of dozens of prime ribs I've had, this is the first at a restaurant I had to salt.

Good, but not great at handling allergies. Staff were knowledgeable and I felt 100% safe, but the best restaurants will have alternatives or substitutions

My wife and I went for our anniversary. Our neighbor recommended the restaurant and it did. It disappoint.

The Prime Rib has been my go to place for special occasions for 20+ years. Everything is outstanding- food, service and ambiance. Bob is our favorite waiter and only adds to our pleasure of eating here.

Birthday dinner, tables spaced appropriately, shrimp cocktail, crab cake, prime rib and veal chop perfection.

As always the food and ambiance was fantastic. Unfortunately the service was quite lacking. I understand that it is difficult to keep help working during the pandemic. But someone should have been giving the waiter a hand. We had a group next to us that had never been to The Prime Rib before and were very disappointed we tried to tell them that tia was very unusual but don’t think they will be coming back but we will we understand the circumstances but someone up front could have lended a hand

No better place to have excellent food and service.

The rib eye steak was very dry cooked medium. Not at all seasoned the way I’d like it to have been. The sides were the best part of the meal. Service from my waiter seemed forced even while spending 145 just for my meal. I’d ask a question just to get short curt answers like he was too busy to help me.

I eat at a lot of steakhouses across the us and this did not earn a right to be a top tier steakhouse in my opinion. Probably one of the worst steaks for the money I’ve bought. It was large and dry. Hopefully, this was just a bad Covid experience and they get it together.

I won’t return.

Still the classiest spot to dine in Baltimore. Food and especially the steak is outstanding and the wait staff are a throw back to the days when waiting was a profession and they still do it so well. Also, love the live piano player in the background....well done!

Love this place, always outstanding. The staff is the best and though expensive it’s the highest quality so you’re getting what you pay for.

Was ignored for quite sometime before being greeted by a kind man who ultimately became my server. Food was subpar. I had oysters, lamb and broccoli. Nothing to rave about, comparable to diner food. Sidecar was great though.

Excellent as usual. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Baltimore. Keep up the great work and we'll see you soon!

The perfect place for that special occasion. Whether it's intimate or with a lot of people. The service and the food are outstanding. They are always helpful and on top of your needs. My favorite place!

My husband loves steak, he ordered the ribeye steak and said it's one of the best he's ever had. All of our food was delicious, service was attentive but not overbearing. It's not cheap, but very nice for a special occasion.
