The Prime Rib Steak
28 oz. Bone-In Ribeye
Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail
Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. Wait time for food to table was average. Overall, I would visit again.
Everything was exceptional! We had a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter was delightful.
They are clearly shot staffed. And a celebratory order of their original full prime rib is impossible to cut through the attached tendons and fat, and the meat almost as hard to chew . After years loving this place - I’m done .
We selected The Prime Rib to rendezvous with a remote colleague for her last day of work since it was near Washington, DC and not too far from NJ. When we stepped into the room, it is reminiscent of what elegant, fine dining in a traditional steakhouse use to be. Our server, Robert, was amazingly attentive, friendly and fun. Excellent classic cocktails and wine list. The prime bone-in ribeye, perfectly prepared medium rare, melted in your mouth. We added a crabcake for a surf and turf experience. My colleague ordered the prime rib signature cut which she enjoyed very much. Dessert, especially the key lime pie, was so satisfying. This is the original, family-owned location founded in 1965. Treat yourself!
We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at The Prime Rib and it was everything! They nailed it from the time we arrived until we left! Bravo!!
Outstanding, as usual. Bob took care of us, and was incredibly polite and attentive. He went above and beyond to provide the best hospitality possible. Pianist was excellent, and played Art Blakey's "Moanin'", among other tunes. Lump crab cake, bone-in ribeye, mashed potatoes and Basque cheesecake were all impeccable. Not my first trip here, and it certainly will not be the last.
It’s was phenomenal!!!
Can you bring back the previous mushrooms? Dinner was great as usual and I’ll be back again. And again. My hope is that they don’t forget what has made them an institution and start changing menu items and reworking existing ones as they did the mushrooms. The Prime Rib is a gem.
The ambiance is lacking. I understand it’s the Original Prime Rib and is popular for its 1940’s flair. But my service dinner plates made my dinner unpleasing to the eye. The plates are faded and awful. The carpet has a very dusty damp smell. I felt like I was about to attend my funeral. If this is old school glamour they missed the mark.
I’ll try the newer Prime Rib at the
Casino. I have to do a redo of Celebrating my Birthday.
Classic food in a classic setting. Meat cooked perfectly. Great cocktails and wine options.
The staff, especially Mark are exceptional you always feel like family
Great dining experience. Food was amazing. Will return.
A classic Baltimore spot.
Everything was fabulous. The server Bradley gave us the most attentive service. Every detail was addressed. A wonderful meal.
The Prime Rib never disappoints. They have remained true to their original mission statement of providing an excellent meal, outstanding and comfortable service in a great atmosphere. They had great live music that served as background but did not interfere with conversation. Perfect night out.
Anniversary dinner was amazing! Thank you Bradley!!
Outstanding food, very quiet setting and excellent service.
Solid, but not outstanding
Always enjoy the live piano playing
Disappointed in the signature cut prime rib. Bradly, our server happily substituted lamb chops! Clams casino, wedge salad, signature and filet mignon were delicious. Grilled asparagus were not fresh and dried out on the ends. Somewhat disappointed. I realize it is difficult to enforce a dress code, but having a meal at a 5 star restaurant while trying to avoid looking at overexposed breasts, derriere cheeks and ripples of back fat on scantily clad women with electric blue and hot pink wigs is not my idea a fine dining.
Incredible dining experience. Our waiter Bob was a professional, and the steaks we ordered were top notch. Very reasonably priced as well considering the elite quality.
Our favorite restaurant in Baltimore but it has gotten too expensive.
Lovely - awesome service, delicious dinner! Miss going to this very fabulous restaurant!!!
Very chilly in the room - air conditioning blowing cold. Remember to bring a wrap to ge warm!
Always top notch at The Prime Rib.
We had a delightful evening! Expertly made cocktails at the bar with great live music, and a fabulous Dinner with all of our favorites! Potato skins and the namesake Prime Rib with fresh horseradish! This restaurant will exceed your expectations!!!
They say everything is good and everything was good
Wonderful as always. Elegant dining.
The atmosphere and the people were great. My wife's rare prime rib was very cold, but in all everything was great. The chocolate ice cream that was from a local shop was great. They have the best asparagus of any restaurant I have been to. Simple but delicious.
Cannot wait to go back. We visit when in Baltimore.
The meal and atmosphere were great. The live music while you enjoy your food made the night.
Our waiter Nathan was friendly attentive and very knowledgeable.
Food and service was excellent and was enjoyed by both my wife and myself
Very disappointed with the dining experience. Food was not appealing or savory as described and given the high cost ($$$$). Served farm-raised flavorless and fatty salmon. The prime rib was over cooked, appeared to have been boiled, and was unseasoned. The Caesar salad consisted of chopped romaine lettuce drenched in a creamy dressing (without the anchovies) tossed with tiny pieces of crumbled croutons. The “famous” fried potato skins were fried extremely hard and unappetizing. The restaurant reeked of a stale, stuffy, and offensive odor. This restaurant is not what it use to be; not recommended. Will not eat here, again.
Never disappointed! Outstanding!
The perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Sensational, old-school ambiance with live piano and impeccable service. Filet was seared to perfection and the pours were generous. Go.
Enjoyed our overall experience. But there were some detractors. At a restaurant of this caliber and this price point service needs to be top level and attentive. Multiple times our party of two had empty cocktails and water glasses, we were never offered a bread basket, timing of courses was sporadic. Salads arrived half way through apps, we were neglected between salad and entrees and there was a long delay for dessert. Dessert that was taken to a different table first. Service didn’t match expectations. Thankfully other servers noticed some hiccups and filled in for our waiter at times.
Great food, great service, great time!
The PrimeRib is always outstanding
The Prime Rib continues to be one of the best-loved restaurants in Baltimore. While you might go for the signature dish (prepared and plated beautifully), please do not pass up what I believe to be some of the best crab cakes in the city. Light on the outside, buttery and tasty on the inside, these cakes look like they are held together by air. The sides are generously portioned (reccomend the creamed spinach), and the cocktails are what you would expect from a restaurant of this style. The service is impeccable (thanks Chris!), and the ambience with the piano is perfect for a dressy special occasion or a business dinner.
They also have a bar menu with some different items than the main dinner menu (which you can also order from), so if you are looking for a quick meal and a quality drink while visiting with friends, it is worth checking out.
The Prime Rib is exactly what an old-line steakhouse is supposed to be, and it remains a Charm City treasure.
No where on your website does it say anything about the dress code. Not on the main page, not on the about us tab, and not anywhere on the Baltimore tab either.
Showed up for a reservation, was informed we could only sit at the bar because I was wearing shorts. I was also wearing nice loafer shoes and a long sleeve buttoned down collared shirt (It was on a Sunday, multiple tables were not being used) but chose to wear shorts because it's 90 degrees outside.
I specifically looked on the website for a "dress code" section and nothing. I understand the dress code and am not against it, but it 100% should be somewhere on the website. Looking back now the only place it says anything is a note on the third party reservation website.
It also should be noted that during my time at the restaurant I saw a man wearing crocks for shoes and an untucked 3 button polo with a beer belly the size of a beach ball. Also sitting at the bar was another gentleman wearing just a polo (couldn't see his pants or shoes) but the point I'm making is me and my date looked WAY better than multiple other guests but were denied a table (on a not busy night) because I was wearing shorts.
I even looked at a few Google reviews to try and see any comments about the dress code but didn't see anything.
I'm extremely sorry that I showed up in shorts (also super embarrassed in front of my date). And I'm extremely grateful we were still allowed to dine at the bar, but a dress code tab should be SOMEWHERE on the website, not a little "note from the restaurant" on the third party reservation site.
Our waiter, Samuel, did a great job! As always, we had a wonderful dining experience at The Prime Rib.
An excellent experience all-around. The steaks were sublime and the music and ambience were very special as well.
