The Prime Rib at Maryland Live! Casino Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I traditionally have a Christmas dinner out every year and this year we picked The Prime Rib and brought our 12-year old son with us. Our waiter was Pablo and he was simply outstanding, the perfect balance of menu knowledge, conversationalist and his presentation of our meal was top notch. We all had a version of the filet and all three were cooked to perfection. The French onion soup was outstanding and I ordered the onion rings with my steak but didn't care for them as they were battered vice breaded. Even though, they were still good, just not my preference. Our son topped the night off with a root beer float that was large enough he couldn't finish it and it ended up getting passed around the table. The rest of the staff were outstanding as well and were kind enough to hold our extras while we went into the mall as I didn't have quick access to the car because we had used the Valet service.
Prime was raw. I mean raw to the point were you couldn’t cut it. Waiter was acknowledged, was asked to bring back to cook further.
It was at best a temperature better. Manager advised he would discount the wine for our trouble.when bill came we the embarrassing task to notify the waiter that bill was not discounted. Manager advised waiter to reduce a $425 bill by $20.
Very disappointed, will not recommend or go back to this establishment
Everything was good until the steaks arrived. The presentation was horrible (to big white plate with one little grilled baby pepper and baby onion)and both steaks ranging from $50 to $79 were not properly cooked or seasoned (just the cost for the steak, all sides and salads are extra). When you go to a "fancy" top rated steak house you would expect a little wow and a lot of taste.... this had neither:( We cook better steaks at home on the Green Egg. For a $300.00 Bill at the end of the night I would rather go to Flemmings or Charlie's......
Had clients and friends in town, was looking for a steak and decided on The Prime Rib at Maryland Live. Was not impressed. In fairness, service and décor was nice. Server was attentive and professional and the restaurant, attached to the casino, was clean, neat and well laid out. Place was quiet so we were able to talk easily but there were not many tables occupied (Wed at 7:00) so I cannot judge noise levels for a full house. All that being said, food was average for a high level steak house. Appetizers were good but common - lobster mac and cheese and calamari with cherry peppers were tasty. Standard steakhouse sides (creamed spinach, mushrooms, asparagus, etc.) were decent and all à la carte which brings me to my main issue – this was a very expensive steak house relative to the fare. Food looked decent though my steak was not impressive. I ordered a 16 NY strip rare ($61.00 – no sides) – steak came our med to med well. I quietly showed the waiter and he asked me to cut in open in the middle to be sure – which I did. Medium. He asked if I wanted it replaced which I politely declined – I had five other people at the table already eating. Ate the steak and it was fine – just overcooked. Anyway, the place is average for a steak house and (in my opinion) way expensive for what we received. Place is priced equal to or above a Bern’s or Peter Lugers but nothing stands out and they overcook a steak? Facility - nice, food - below average based on price, service - above average. I will not visit again.
The food is great and I would have given all 5 stars but unfornately they forgot to celebrate my mom's birthday. When we arrived the hostess did say Oh I see this is a special evening. Whose birthday is it? My mother spoke up saying hers. Honestly, our family conversation was great but when it was time to leave I saw them celebrating another patron's birthday. Granted I could have mentioned it again but after I had put in the special request and the hostess acknoweledged it, hmm I feel it should have been followed through on their part.
I really was disappointed. 1.the steak was medium, that’s what I ask for. It was so stuff I could not cut it. The waitress says! You ask to be medium. I said yes I did, but I have to cut it. So she took it back Out came another one just the same. I asked for a container to take it home. I’m sorry I was not pleased with the service nor the Food 🥘.
The service was EXCELLENT! Our waitress was fairly new but extremely confident and did a great job with answering all of our questions and giving good recommendations. Everything we had on the menu was DELICIOUS from the unique potato skins, lobster bisque, creamy spinach, crab cake and bone in ribeye. We'll be back very soon!
My husband and I went to the Prime Rib because I had a self-compensation credit from Maryland Live and it can be used at Prime. Glad that we took advantage of that benefit. The food was excellent and so was the service. This restaurant has a great bar/lounge area, nice dining room, private room for special group dinners, and an outdoor, covered area.
We enjoyed our selves immensely. The food was awesome, the atmosphere was romantic, it felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves even though there were many around us. The only problem I had was we couldn’t take the remaining wine with us. In every other restaurant in Maryland you are allowed to buy a bottle of wine drink a glass and take the rest home. Here you cannot! They failed to mention that to us when we were buying this very expensive wine. Such a ripoff!!! Other than that it was awesome
The food was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked steaks, wonderful seafood and rich and amazing side dishes. The service wasn't spectacular, each course seemed to take a an eternity and our waitress didn't seem to be anywhere to be found any time we needed her. I think because of it's proximity to the casino, there were more children than I anticipated.
Our go-to place for special occasions. Their prime rib can't be beat. The imperial crab was also excellent. Start with lobster bisque. Best I've ever had. The staff is attentive and welcoming without being overbearing. All in all, it's always been a special evening.
My husband and I celebrated our 6th year anniversary Saturday between 6:15-6:30PM and the service and meal was impeccable. Our server Dorian ( I'm pronouncing her name incorrect) was the ABSOLUTE BEST. The seared tuna was delicious. We also received an complimentary dessert and it was decadent. My husband and I will only return of we have Dorian as our server. Hopefully we will be returning in November.
My boyfriend and I went to The Prime Rib to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the fresh baked bread selection, to the tasty clams casino, and the beautifully cut prime rib, it was amazing! The atmosphere was very relaxing and the service was wonderful. We will be back!!
We were greeted and seated promptly. Our table runner was very engaging. Our server was very professional, but underwhelming. The food, although very good for the most part, was not nearly what one would expect from a restaurant in this category. I started with the Maryland crab soup. It was good, but not noteworthy. My wife had Buzz's salad, which again was okay but nothing memorable. For entrees, we both chose the signature cut Prime Rib. They were cooked to a perfect medium-rare and huge (17 oz.) Prime rib is not particularly my favorite, but I would say it lived up to its reputation. For sides we chose the Au gratin potatoes and the roasted artichoke hearts. The potatoes were quite decadent, maybe a little too much so. The artichokes, on the other hand were simply horrendous. The real highlights of the meal, for us anyway, were the homemade bread basket and dessert, a crazy good turtle cake with salted caramel. We were glad we went for the experience, but it simply did not meet expectations. In that particular price range we MUCH prefer Ruth's Chris and The Milton Inn.
We went as a dining party to get a great steak. However, my first steak was way overcooked and dry; I ordered medium well - it was extremely well done. I had to send it back. The staff was accommodating and I got another steak that was still overcooked (no pink inside). The sides were good. However, I did not feel that I received a good value for the price we paid.
