The Prime Rib at Maryland Live! Casino Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had a spectacular night on Saturday at Prime Rib at Maryland Live. The food, service, atmosphere were all above and beyond. We have dined at this location a few times before and this was by far the best experience yet. The manager, Trey, made the rounds through the dining room to make sure everyone was happy and having a great time. That is the first time I have seen that kind of attention here. We really appreciated it. Our server (sorry, can't remember his name) was very attentive and engaging. We started with Oysters Rockefeller and Sesame Tuna. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. The oysters were plump and juicy. The tuna was just melt-in-your mouth tender and seasoned with the perfect amount of sesame seeds. I had the signature cut Prime Rib, which was huge and perfectly cooked to my request of medium. My husband had the filet and also agreed that his was cooked to exactly the right temperature (medium rare). Both cuts were very tender. You really didn't need the steak knife to cut them. Don't even get me started on the bread basket. Warm and puffy, with lots of variety. The herbed butter that is served alongside the bread just makes it perfect. We split a bananas foster for dessert and really enjoyed that as well. Not one misstep the entire night. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning! We would recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially for special occasions.
The prime rib that we got is not the same quality of the prime rib we’ve gotten in the other Prime Rib restaurants. There was so much fat on it that it took up half the plate. It also was not as tender. The fries were served lukewarm. This is not what we expected.
First of all, the restaurant temperature was cold and we were under the impression that there was a recommended dress code. There were several patrons with sneakers and t-shirts as well as one wearing a baseball cap turned backward. This certainly was not expected at a restaurant of this quality in the main dining area. We were not impressed with the service or the food. We ordered the calamari appetizer (no complaint- it was cooked perfectly), the prime rib, the filet mignon with an add-on of king crab legs with the bearnaise sauce and house steak sauce, the creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes. The meal came out without the sauces and we had to send the filet back as it came out cold as if it had been sitting before being brought to our table. When they took it back I don’t know if it was microwaved but it was then overlooked from medium to well. Instead of sending it back a second time I ate it anyway as we had already been waiting a while for the main entrees. This was odd to me as normally fine dining restaurants prepare a new steak. The crab legs were mediocre as they the meat was dry. I had higher expectations for this restaurant for a nice Birthday dinner. I have visited he Baltimore location and frequent other fine dining restaurants in DC & Virginia but I would not recommend this location for a pleasant dining experience.
Lobster bisque was served warm, not hot with very little lobster. Steaks did not come to the table hot and looked like anyone could have cooked them at home in their oven. The steaks at $75 each should not only taste good, but should look special and appetizing. The au gratin potatoes were good but not served hot. Sat with our winter coats on our seat behind us, no one offered to check our coats. The service was slow and took way to long to get cocktails. We were dressed per the restaurants requirements while sitting next to patrons with their baseball hats turned backwards and work boots.
The best dining experience for both my husband and I. Could not rave more positively about our night. The service was impeccable, our server was knowledgeable beyond belief and the food was to die for. Ended with the most fabulous creme brûlée I have ever tasted. Will 100% be back again.
Casino setting is not ideal. Chose restaurant based on proximity to hotel. Food was outstanding, had the salmon that was cooked to perfection. French Onion Soup was served at a temperature that was very comfortable to eat, many places it’s way too hot under the cheese.
New yrs weekend. Great seating by the window of casino. Chardonnay was wonderful as was the lobster bisque. Had Tomahawk rib eye for 2. A bit pricey but never disappoints in flavor. Great service and friendly staff. Manager secured our table for us. Lots of locals dining around us as the conversation was addressed personally with waiters. Bar area is large, love the piano and cello duet. Usually can eat there if you want and if you have no reservations
My wife and I both order the Filet Oscar style and it was to die for. We also go the Oysters Rockefeller as a appetizer. We loved the atmosphere for our date night that we do twice a month. Its always good to go and gamble after your meal. Love the place and will return in the near future.
Expecting typical corporate instilled scripts from the staff, pleasantly welcomed our server Durriyyah (hopefully spelled 👍) professional but personal, warm, outgoing personality. By chance at neighboring table a certain gentleman was quite center of attention, We had the pleasure to meet Exec Chef Ed who oversees all the Casino’s Restaurants. Very interesting and upbeat conversations led to a “mentioned” thick cut Rockfish main course. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The, I believe GM, Andy stopped table side and another engaging conversation. No stoic blah blah night with this engaging Staff, felt like a night out with friends. Even hostess Brianna added to the charm of the evening. The place itself with nice cushy chairs and higher end ambience was expected, a night with great people was a great experience. The place was quite full so not like we were staff’s only audience. Well Done!
This was my first visit to the Prime Rib at Arundel Mills. We visited to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday. I was completely underwhelmed with the experience. First, we waited almost fifteen minutes just to get water, another five to get wine and beer. The waitstaff was pleasant but the service was just really slow. Our meals came out, and my steak, a filet, was hardly warm. It was cooked correctly, but just cold. The portions are small compared to say Ruth's Chris for the sides and entrees. There were four of us with a 7:15 reservation and we didn't get our check until 8:55p, which is insane to me, given we didn't have appetizers and shared one dessert. Won't return, Ruth's Chris is by far better quality and quicker service.
Best steak I've ever had, food overall is extremely pricey, and I think it's because the casino owner is the restaurant owner and they rely on comped meals. For the paying person, I'm not sure I'd recommend. I requested a quiet table for a special occasion and we were right in the middle of the dining room near the bathroom. However the waitress was AMAZING so im glad we got her!
Lovely restaurant with great service. Food is delicious and the noise level is low which makes it nice to have an intimate meal.
The only feedback I would provide would be for the restaurant to allow a bar tab to be added to the meal tab, so that patrons who have a drink before the meal don't have to wait for bar tab to be prepared, paid and remitted before moving to their table. It's not a huge thing, but for the type of restaurant and price point, this would be a natural thing to do for customers.
My wife and I traditionally have a Christmas dinner out every year and this year we picked The Prime Rib and brought our 12-year old son with us. Our waiter was Pablo and he was simply outstanding, the perfect balance of menu knowledge, conversationalist and his presentation of our meal was top notch. We all had a version of the filet and all three were cooked to perfection. The French onion soup was outstanding and I ordered the onion rings with my steak but didn't care for them as they were battered vice breaded. Even though, they were still good, just not my preference. Our son topped the night off with a root beer float that was large enough he couldn't finish it and it ended up getting passed around the table. The rest of the staff were outstanding as well and were kind enough to hold our extras while we went into the mall as I didn't have quick access to the car because we had used the Valet service.
Prime was raw. I mean raw to the point were you couldn’t cut it. Waiter was acknowledged, was asked to bring back to cook further.
It was at best a temperature better. Manager advised he would discount the wine for our trouble.when bill came we the embarrassing task to notify the waiter that bill was not discounted. Manager advised waiter to reduce a $425 bill by $20.
Very disappointed, will not recommend or go back to this establishment
Everything was good until the steaks arrived. The presentation was horrible (to big white plate with one little grilled baby pepper and baby onion)and both steaks ranging from $50 to $79 were not properly cooked or seasoned (just the cost for the steak, all sides and salads are extra). When you go to a "fancy" top rated steak house you would expect a little wow and a lot of taste.... this had neither:( We cook better steaks at home on the Green Egg. For a $300.00 Bill at the end of the night I would rather go to Flemmings or Charlie's......
Had clients and friends in town, was looking for a steak and decided on The Prime Rib at Maryland Live. Was not impressed. In fairness, service and décor was nice. Server was attentive and professional and the restaurant, attached to the casino, was clean, neat and well laid out. Place was quiet so we were able to talk easily but there were not many tables occupied (Wed at 7:00) so I cannot judge noise levels for a full house. All that being said, food was average for a high level steak house. Appetizers were good but common - lobster mac and cheese and calamari with cherry peppers were tasty. Standard steakhouse sides (creamed spinach, mushrooms, asparagus, etc.) were decent and all à la carte which brings me to my main issue – this was a very expensive steak house relative to the fare. Food looked decent though my steak was not impressive. I ordered a 16 NY strip rare ($61.00 – no sides) – steak came our med to med well. I quietly showed the waiter and he asked me to cut in open in the middle to be sure – which I did. Medium. He asked if I wanted it replaced which I politely declined – I had five other people at the table already eating. Ate the steak and it was fine – just overcooked. Anyway, the place is average for a steak house and (in my opinion) way expensive for what we received. Place is priced equal to or above a Bern’s or Peter Lugers but nothing stands out and they overcook a steak? Facility - nice, food - below average based on price, service - above average. I will not visit again.
