The Pressroom Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Crab Bisque had great reviews but description on menu not accurate. It's more like New England Crab Chowder. Thick and white consistency but Bisque would be blush tomato and thinner. The pizza with sausage was very good. the burger was amazing too. The tuna melt was tasty but muffin could have been toasted first and bacon should have been omitted. It detracted from the chipotle flavor of the dish. The duck fat fries were good but must be served hot. Our first order was hardly warm but the waitress quickly noticed and brought us another order. Great ambience. warm and cozy, The noise reducing tiles on ceiling helped as we were able to sit and talk with ease. The entire staff were smiling and friendly. Exceptional customer service reason enough to come back!
Nice location in center city Lancaster. Modern sleek decor inviting patrons attendance. Service was quite good. Food however , was only mediocre. Not bad, but the ribeye was of the quality flavoror tenderness that one should expect. Nice stop for a light meal and drinks.
I just wanted to say that the food was amazing. The waitress could’ve been a little bit more friendly. Also I put on my reservations that it was somebody’s birthday and I wanted you guys to bring in a cake and that never happened and it was never mentioned. And we did mention to the waitress that we were there for a birthday several times Thinking she would get the
hint but she didn’t. So that was a little disappointing I’m not sure I would go there again to celebrate her birthday however the food was excellent
Limited menu options , server did not acknowledge guest’ s birthday despite noting on open table reservation, did not take off theater discount despite mentioning x 2, had to leave table to locate server , finally corrected , gave discount... food ok, not nearly as good as I recalled last time I dined there, booth lighting dim , needed to use phone light to read menu. Overall , a mediocre dining experience.
Positive note- delicious crab bisque.
We tried out the brunch menu on this occasion and found it to be very delicious with a shared creamy crab bisque, a confit duck hash for me, and for my wife, an eggs Benedict. Our server, Marisa, provided such excellent, efficient, and friendly service that we would definitely request her by name on our return. And we really did enjoy the bloody Mary self-serve bar!
This was my 2nd visit to the Pressroom and they did not disappoint. The ambiance was great, service was good, and food was spot on. I will definitely promote the Pressroom word of mouth to anyone seeking a nice food experience/night out in the downtown Lancaster area. Impecable job guys!
Have been here for lunch many times. This time went for dinner on Thanksgiving. In addition to standard turkey/stuffing/mashed potatoes/green beans/cranberry sauce meal (which one of our party had and said was delicious), there were other interesting choices. Everything was delicious!
We went to the Press Room for Thanksgiving. The food was great and the service was friendly. We made reservations and did not have to wait for our table. I had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner plate but our daughter had the vegan spaghetti. She keeps saying how great it was and wants to go back again.
We sat up front by the window and had a great holiday view of the city street.
Nice alternative to making Thanksgiving dinner at home. Turkey was moist and delicious. Green beans were perfectly cooked. Mashed potatoes and stuffing were average. Festive desserts and Irish coffees completed our experience nicely. Staff very helpful and friendly. Free parking a plus. Will come back again.
It's been many years since we dined at the Pressroom. It was different and improved including the layout of the dining area. The menu was more limited but covered the basics and appears to change seasonally. Bea, our server was excellent. The PR wine list is limited. Bea recommended the featured red wine. It was enjoyed by all. I regret not writing the name of this wine down because I can't find it now. Our party ordered Delmonico, Pork Porterhouse, and Rigatoni. All were satisfied but the Rigatoni received the highest review. PR's salads are very good and can easily be shared. The pork is a large bone-in chop. The Delmonico, a cut we don't usually see, is thinner than many steak servings but the size was good. You can park in the adjacent Central garage and your fee will be handled by PR. This is a gathering place with a lively bar scene. Our table was in the bar area because our party was large. As a result, the noise was level was loud but lessened as the evening progressed. Be sure to request a table away from the bar if you wish to converse.
Passed through Lancaster en route toPhilly and was recommended the Pressroom. Food was really good, my friend got a bad cut of steak but it still tasted amazing nonetheless. The duck two ways was outstanding, very good value for what you get. Would recommend!
I have lived in Lancaster county for most of my life and have always wanted to come here to eat. I finally went last week with my husband for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Everything was amazing, the bread appetizer, the beer my husband got, our food was phenomenal. I am vegan and was so happy to see a vegan option on the meal and it was to die for. The service was wonderful, everyone was very helpful and friendly. We can not wait to return!
When I booked our reservation on line, I had marked that it was a Birthday celebration. Unfortunately, nobody recognized the Birthday and this was very disappointing to me! I would have said something but, I wanted it as a surprise for my wife. Too bad!
The food was excellent and the service was terrific. Look forward to our next visit!
Food and drinks were good and priced what I thought was reasonable for an upscale restaurant. Was a little disappointed with the steak. At $34 though I one would think they are getting a steak that tastes better than Texas Road House, but I am a picky steak person. The Ahi Tuna and duck were amazing.
