The Pressroom Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Always thought it was like an “old” restaurant. Not at all. High backed booths that felt private for sharing good conversation for a group of four. Drinks were great - bar compares with John Jeffries. Entrees and appetizers equally delicious. Will definitely recommend and return.
Our party of 6 dined at the Pressroom before opening night at the Fulton Theatre. Our experience was great from the hostess who took our coats and seated us, to our wonderful server. Our dinners were prepared in a reasonable time, and were very good. We loved our table and felt we could have good conversation and not be overheard.
Perfect pre-theater dinner date! The menu is diverse and the quality is excellent! Ambiance is just right....lively but you can talk! The Pressroom validates your parking garage ticket, so parking is free for the night! They also offer a theatre discount which was a complete surprise. Dessert was amazing! Highly recommend the Pressroom! You’ll love it!
This is the worst restaurant I have been to in my entire life. The food is average and overpriced. My salad was soggy, chicken was dry. Burgers were strange too, they put marmalade on the burger.
But the service is the worst. We had 4 reservations for lunch and called the restaurant two hours ahead (before they opened) and asked to sit us close together, as we had group of kids and parents and wanted to celebrate a birthday. They did the exact opposite. They sat us in 3 different corners of the restaurant while there were plenty of empty seats. When we asked for an extra table (which was empty next to us) they refused to give it to us even though the restaurant was half empty. We asked for an extra chair, and they said absolutely not, while there was plenty of extra chairs standing by the wall and all over the restaurant. The host/waiter (Skyler) and his manager were extremely rude. They were making a big scene, make Ng inappropriate remarks. People like them should not be working in service. We had the most unpleasant experience and will never be back there. I would not recomend this place if you come with a big group, expect good service or decent food.
We had a wonderful time! Food and drinks were great, service was wonderful. However, we were at dinner with our friends and we were seated close to the bar and it got really loud. So loud we couldn't quite hear each other by the end of our dinner. In the future for a dinner reservation, we will ask to sit in the back of the restaurant. Just a suggestion for anyone looking to dine with friends.
We dine here occasionally. Normally we have excellent service. This evening our service was poor. The server seemed like she would rather be somewhere else. Entrees took longer than normal. When I ordered my ceasar salad I specifically asked for pepper since there was none at the table. Salad arrived but I had to get her attention for pepper than had eaten half the salad before it arrived. The skirt steak and duck entrees were excellent. The shrimp on my salad was lukewarm. Hopefully by our next visit issues are resolved.
Overall experience was enjoyable. Food was prepared how described and was good. However, I was disappointed in the Christmas Eve menu as in there was none - no specials. Just the plain old, normal menu and I was hoping for something extra being a special occasion. Honestly, I would not come to Press Room for the normal dinner menu. I have traveled all over the world eating different cuisines. The options did not really peak my interest.
I enjoy the press room for the special occasions in life. The food has always been prepared impeccablely, and the menu is small but well mastered by the kitchen.
Front of the house staff are efficient and kind and they can keep pace with a busy evening. Best of all they manage to do it without making a diner feel rushed.
I had the porterhouse pork chop with sweet potato and brussel sprouts followed by a campfire cake. Both were delightful.
We had a wonderful evening at The Pressroom. Our waiter, Jason, was very attentive and our dinners were delicious. We were seeing a show at the Fulton and were assured that we would be there in time AND that we would be getting 10 percent off our meal...Fulton discount. Great free parking in the Central Garage. All in all...a perfect evening!
It started out fine but then it seems our waiter forgot about us. Eventually the manager came over and asked if we’d gotten our food. No, we hadn’t. He went to the kitchen and cleared up the mishap and even popped open a bottle of champagne, on the house, which was fabulous! Then our food arrived and all was forgiven, although due to the lengthy wait, we had no time for desert. Our waiter brought the check at the end and I was disappointed because he did not even apologize!
Crab Bisque had great reviews but description on menu not accurate. It's more like New England Crab Chowder. Thick and white consistency but Bisque would be blush tomato and thinner. The pizza with sausage was very good. the burger was amazing too. The tuna melt was tasty but muffin could have been toasted first and bacon should have been omitted. It detracted from the chipotle flavor of the dish. The duck fat fries were good but must be served hot. Our first order was hardly warm but the waitress quickly noticed and brought us another order. Great ambience. warm and cozy, The noise reducing tiles on ceiling helped as we were able to sit and talk with ease. The entire staff were smiling and friendly. Exceptional customer service reason enough to come back!
Nice location in center city Lancaster. Modern sleek decor inviting patrons attendance. Service was quite good. Food however , was only mediocre. Not bad, but the ribeye was of the quality flavoror tenderness that one should expect. Nice stop for a light meal and drinks.
I just wanted to say that the food was amazing. The waitress could’ve been a little bit more friendly. Also I put on my reservations that it was somebody’s birthday and I wanted you guys to bring in a cake and that never happened and it was never mentioned. And we did mention to the waitress that we were there for a birthday several times Thinking she would get the
hint but she didn’t. So that was a little disappointing I’m not sure I would go there again to celebrate her birthday however the food was excellent
