My wife and I had an amazing anniversary dinner. The new Steak Steele (Go XU) is without a doubt the best steak I’ve ever had.
Amazing food, as always. The steaks are second to none. The service is that perfect mix of warm and friendly. Jordan does his job impeccably! All of the Jeff Ruby Steakhouses have amazing food, but the ambience and history of The Precinct are unique and make The Precinct the Cincinnati gem that it is.
Our company had a coworker in from Denmark and she enjoyed the food and ambiance very much as we all did. She has not stopped raving about the food, especially the filet mignon!
It was great everything was delish!
We moved away for 12 years and the Precinct is just as delicious as we remembered!
Food was PHENOMENAL. Best steak I’ve ever had. The only issue we had personally was that we have had reservations for two for over 2 weeks for this date night and we were seated at a table and would have rather had one of the booths just because it was a little more romantic. It was hard to hear my boyfriend over the other conversations in the room. Overall it was a great experience and the food was excellent!
Excellent service, ambiance, and food. The ribeye (The Lachey) was the among the best steaks I’ve ever had. Nice, quiet ambiance. The bananas foster prepared at the captains table was one of the best deserts I’ve had. Service was excellent. It is a long experience in the dining room, so I would not recommend it for smaller children.
Amazing😀 food delicious -best steak ever! First time there & wont be last
Crab cake was great, steaks were PERFECT. Love that the steaks come with a salad and a side. Wine selection was good too. My only complaint - the cheesecake didn’t have a crust! Not a deal breaker, but it could have been better. We had a wonderful time!
Good for Cincinnati. Overpriced not as good as I’d been told.
This my first time to the Precinct. I was very excited to go as I had heard so many good things about the food and service. I was celebrating my birthday.
The service was outstanding. Jordan was our server and he was very attentive but not overbearing.
We ordered an appetizer, salad, and shared an entree.
The food came out with ample time in between. We never felt hurried or rushed.
The appetizer was very good and what we had expected. The salad, which was a wedge, was drowning in dressing. Also, unfortunately there were too many croutons to the point that the garlicky flavor was overpowering.
We ordered the center cut New York Strip, medium rare. The steak was cooked perfectly. The downside of the steak was that it was way too salty and swimming in butter, to the point that we put the meat on a piece of
bread to soak up the excess butter.
We did tell Jordan, and the manager was very attentive and apologetic. She offered us a replacement entree, however we declined.
All in all the staff and service here were exemplary, I wish I could say the same about the food.
Very good service, good portions
First time at the Precinct. Outstanding service, great bar drinks and great food. Pricey, but great for making special occasions memorable.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with the entire family which included our 5 , 7, and 9 year old children. They were wonderfully accommodating to our vivacious group!
Our food was very good. The people who got steaks loved them. I had the beet salad, which was marvelous, and the crabcake (actually an appetizer, but large enough to be an entree), and the fried vegetables--cauliflower, brussels sprouts, etc. All delicious! The server was very accommodating and didn't seem to mind catering to the two children in the group. We were in a small room with only three tables, which I much prefer to the larger room where everyone is so squashed together. Overall, an excellent dining experience. (And the birthday guy got a free dessert!)
Experience was good. Mashed potatoes were better than usual. I ordered my steak medium rare, it came medium plus. My husband ordered medium rare and his was cooked to perfection. My husband always orders the bone in filet. He stated the steak had a seafood flavor to it. Possibly a different rub? The table next to us ordered the macaroni and cheese, the waiter informed them the mac and cheese had been ruined and they could not serve it. Seemed like a rookie mistake for a Ruby's restaurant. We will return again, but I do believe other steak houses with easier access for reservations can deliver just as well.
Jordan and Zach were wonderful waiters. We didn't have to wait for refills. The salads were fresh and very sizable. Jordan noticed our steak wasn't done enough and without question grabbed the plate and apologized. The steak was back in no time. He even gave my husband more mashed potatoes as he waited. We enjoyed a complimentary dessert and photo for our anniversary. The manager greeted us at the table which was nice to know he was aware of our situation with the steak.
Had a last minute add with our daughter just finding out she made UC Dance team for the 2nd year running. The manager and server were more than accommodating and moved us to a private room that just happened to be available with absolutely no fuss. Food and service outstanding as always. Even got a complimentary cheese cake for our daughters accomplishment. Thank you!
The service was outstanding! I had a reservation at 9:15pm, we were greeted right away and sat within 5-10mins. The waitress was very upbeat, informative, and welcoming. The for was great. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Our experience was wonderful overall!!
Our only complaint is the steaks were slightly overcooked-not bad enough to send back- but for the price and the specialty of the house, the steaks should be perfect. Mac and cheese was very good. Service was attentive.
A most pleasant experience. Can't wait to go back.
This is our 3rd time there in 3 months! Amazing food and Service is top notch! We will be back soon!
So I gave the food for The Precinct a 2 out of 5 for the fact that it did not sit well with me. It caused me to become very sick 5 hours after visiting. That being said my wife did not get sick. We shared the mussels and they were delicious. She got the Petite Lilly and it was really good. We shared the Mac and cheese which was also very good. I got the Lachay with a baked potato and the Freddie salad. It must have been one of these items that was bad b/c my wife did not eat any of this. It all tasted great, but something was off apparently. We shared the carrot cake for desert and it was amazing! Our waiter Paul was very attentive, friendly, and provided great service. If it were not for me getting sick, I would have given a much better rating; however when spending $250 for a dinner with my wife I expect not to get sick.
The best in Cincinnati, everything was perfect!
Overrated steak especially for the price. The staff was outstanding! Shrimp Cocktail, Pork-belly and the salads were wonderful. Our bone in ribeyes we just ok. They were a little to overly charred and a lot tougher than other bone ins we have had at other restaurants. Too many other great choices in the big city we won't be back.
Service was exceptional. Steaks (the Lachey) flavorful, tender and juicy, mac & cheese was great, but the mushrooms were disappointing.
Great!! The March special was a pleasant surprise and definitely high value. We’ll be back soon!
I’m 49 years old. I travel and eat in fine restaurants all over; I have for many years. The meal I had last night at the Precinct was one of the best I’ve ever had. The service I got from my waiter Donnie and his assistant was world class.
After a long week of travel, I picked the Precinct last minute for an impromptu celebration dinner with a colleague after a successful week of meetings. We were both blown away with the experience from arrival, through cocktails and on thru every course. Great oysters and scallops, signature salads, and out of this world dry aged bone in filets 3” thick, cooked perfectly.
At one point during the meal I managed to spill a full glass of red wine on the white table cloth. Our waiters reset the table in no time and brought replacement wine and a “so sorry” glass of Stags Leap to apologize for my self-inflicted misfortune. :-0
What an amazing experience. I’ll be back any time I’m near Cincinnati.
Thank you, Donnie and the whole Precinct crew. I’ll remember that dinner always.
Awesome. Never a bad visit.
MY server I believe Collin/Bret was their name -was amazing. I’ve had Collin once before and he never dissapoints.
Absolutely exquisite, as always. Beautiful atmosphere. World class service. Amazing cuisine. Another wonderful night out with my best friend.
It was delicious and had great service!
It was our first time here and it was The BEST Filet I have ever had! Jessica waited on us in the BAR and was fabulous! Jeff Ruby’s son Dillon came by our table to check on us too. We will definitely be back!
We come to the precinct whenever we have something to celebrate or even the occasional date night. The food is absolutely to die for and worth every penny.
Excellent food, service & experience!
I cannot say enough about our experiences at The Precinct! ABSOLUTELY NO ONE DOES IT BETTER!!!
Love the historic setting. The food is exquisite. The steak was prepared perfectly and was so tender. Excellent service, very accommodating.
Ruby’s Precinct, Went above and beyond in helping us celebrate our daughter’s 10th Birthday! Special thanks to our server, Anthony and Sous Chef, Stephen(Boomer). It was an evening that will be difficult to top!
Too noisy, Could barely hear the waiter much less my guests
