For Jeff Ruby, this is the steakhouse that started it all. In 1981, The Precinct was born in the former Cincinnati Police Patrol House Number 6. This turn-of-the-century, Romanesque-style structure would hold what is now the longest, continuously running fine dining restaurant in the city.
Recently named one of America's Top 10 Steakhouses by USA Today and Gayot.com, The Precinct is frequently recognized as having Cincinnati’s best steaks, seafood, and service. Jeff’s Ruby’s restaurants never fail. Always such a delight to dine there. From the hostess to the person taking away the empty plates the staff is wonderful. Love the new appetizer Squash Blossoms! The Baked Alaska for dessert was fun and delicious!

The service was expertly done. No detail was overlooked. Our glasses were filled immediately when empty. The food was perfectly done. It made for a wonderful family celebration.

What an amazing evening we had for date night! The service, food and atmosphere is beyond your wildest imagination! Met the General Manager Jordan whose work ethic and leadership are top notch! Our servers Cole and Onah were two of the kindest and knowledgeable guys we could have had for our first time. We will return again soon and will request this wonderful duo to be ours. As for Adam, he wasn’t ours BUT watching him work was a pure joy to me. He works incredibly hard and quickly. Take the time and come visit this great place where you literally can feel the past all around you. The decor is absolutely stunning.

The restaurant opened the patio so we were able to book a table less than a week from our reservation. Overall, the atmosphere could probably be improved. Uncomfortable, small, high top tables and chairs are not what we expected. Our server was a bit unkept in appearance and barely around throughout our dinner. If it were not for her assistant, I would have given a lower rating. Maybe they assign the less experienced servers on the patio? We ordered a bottle of wine, but had to pour it for ourselves the entire meal. While the bottle was finished before our meals, we were never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. We have dined at Jeff Ruby establishments many times and have never had service like this. For the price, you expect service to match the quality of food. The steaks were fantastic, sides were cold and just mediocre this time. While we believe this experience does not represent a typical evening at The Precinct, hopefully management will take note and consider improving the training for their servers.

Jeff Ruby does it right. Great service, great food, great experience and iconic venue. We were a party of 6…and I don’t eat beef. And yet, there are PLENTY of amazing options on the menu. Our group ordered everything from crab bisque to filet mignon to squash blossoms. All of it was outstanding. And the desserts…wow! We live in Dayton and it is ALWAYS worth the drive.

This was a make-up dinner and Ruby’s had sent me a gift card. The meal was delicious and loved the stuffed squash blossoms. Our server Kelly was beyond great. Jordan the manager attended to us as well. The tiramisu was divine. My partner said his steak was the best he ever had at Ruby’s. Thank you for the gift card and wonderful dinner. We will be back soon.
