For Jeff Ruby, this is the steakhouse that started it all. In 1981, The Precinct was born in the former Cincinnati Police Patrol House Number 6. This turn-of-the-century, Romanesque-style structure would hold what is now the longest, continuously running white tablecloth restaurant in the city.
Recently named one of America's Top 10 Steakhouses by USA Today and Gayot.com, The Precinct is frequently recognized as having Cincinnati’s best steaks, seafood and service. This consistent high level of quality and overall guest experience over 3 decades has endeared Precinct to celebrities, businesspeople, families and loyal diners alike.

The best food I’ve ever had! I’m not a steak person but I ordered the collinsworth and it was my favorite meal ever! Such a cool place

Appreciate a place that delivers top quality food and service, albeit at a premium price. Our steaks were outstanding. Wanted to celebrate a birthday, and it was perfect for the occasion.

This is the best restaurant in Cincinnati, bar none. It is not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday by taking him here. He hasn’t stopped talking about it since! We both had the best steak of our lives, accompanied by caring service from the staff. I felt comfortable and welcomed in this incredible establishment. I can’t wait to go back and check out the bar!

Great place to dine. Service was outstanding as it usually is. I suggest if taking someone there for the first time go a little early and grab a drink upstairs in the bar area. Great atmosphere all around then can move downstairs for a good meal

The Precinct is a classic steakhouse restaurant. The service is refined and precise, and the food is the very definition of excellence. There are very few restaurants in this class.

The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. There was not a long time to wait after our arrival at the restaurant. The atmosphere of the facility was very comfortable; lighting not too bright or too dim. Just right!

Good but not amazing - the steaks were good as usual, but the sides were not hot when served and not as good as we remembered

Went to The Precinct before a concert at Riverbend. The Waygu Strip Steak was amazing. Perfectly cooked. Perfect crust. The Precinct is still our favorite Jeff Ruby restaurant!

I was very excited to go to the precinct with my family for my birthday in the evening of July 10th. I had never been, and love Jeff Ruby's downtown, so I figured it would be just as good if not better. The meal started off ok, but after our appetizers came our server Jake went MIA. There were dirty plates left on the table for the entirety of the meal, and we waited on each course with no service in between. The busser/water guy was nice enough to help us get drinks.

Main courses finally came, and the Eifert (their most expensive steak) was salty. We finished our meal and were eager to get dessert as plates were cleared. Another 20-30 minutes passed and no one came. One of the members in our party had to get up and ask the hostess for a dessert menu. Luckily, she was able to find 4 for our 5 person party.

At this point we were ready to be done, so we decided to forego dessert and get a check, but still no sign of our waiter Jake. My father had to get up and ask the hostess to have someone send over the check, and a few minutes later the manager brought it by with an apology and some drink comps. A nice gesture, but far too late too enhance the experience. Jake showed up at the end to run our credit card, but did not apologize, or bring a pen! Disappointing to say the least!

We've been dining at The Precinct on or around my birthday for many, many years--and other occasions before that. I have never ordered anything but Steak Collinsworth--tells you how long he's been around :)--rare plus, (shared) jumbo shrimp cocktail. Sides and salads do change a bit--this year the Freddie, garlic mash, and truffled creamed corn. My husband had the AJ Green--it changes names--with mushroom/onion sauce, Greek salad, garlic mash, and creamed spinach. We started with Prosecco for me and a Manhattan Perfect for my husband. Throughout the meal we enjoyed a bottle of Justin Justification.
We finished our meal with Carrot Cake for me, and an individual serving os Bananas Foster for him. That order hasn't changed in many years either.
Everything was cooked to perfection--oh the steak sauces, oh the truffled corn. The steaks were nicely crusted and oh so tender and flavorful. Everything was delicious.
We were not rushed at all through this lovely meal ad felt quite comfortable.
We noted the wait staff has changed, at least the servers in our room, and they were very eager to please without being intrusive. Garret stopped by to see if all was well, and of course it was. As it had slowed some he stopped to chat about my birthday routine:)
As usual, two "suitcases" of leftovers came home, which we are and will enjoy for another meal or so.

Always an experience to remember with a Ruby’s restaurant. The wagyu strip steak stole the spotlight even for the filet lovers at our table. It’s currently a special item but I hope this becomes a staple on the menu. The difference in undeniable. Worth the price, especially if you’ve never had it before.

Food was excellent. Selection of sides a little limited, but adequate. Don't recall if any soups on the menu. Steaks fantastic. Good drinks. Excellent service. Tables a little cramped together, but not too obtrusive.
