We can also accommodate most requests for "Private Events" any day of the week.
Food was great. you can watch as your food is prepared with open area to Chef. Steaks are handled properly and checked with a little machine to tell them the correct temp inside steak.
best crab cakes I have ever had and the sauce under is my favorite. even dipped the fingerling potatoes in the sauce from the crab cakes.
lobster Mac and Cheese was steaming hot when served, not warm and sticky or cold.
1st time I have ever ordered mac and cheese that was actually served hot. it was delicious, just the right amount of lobster in it.
will be back many times!!!!!
waitress was so polite and new everything about the food. said we made great choices and she was correct!!
Guests of mine complained that the steak had no flavor. I normally eat a filet but got the sirloin special which was what I expected from a sirloin. Service and atmosphere were good. We were disappointed when we left and realized we did not take the remaining lobster Mac and cheese with us because the waitress never offered to box it and we forgot to ask.
Almost perfect evening only complaint the wait for the food was a little close as we were scheduled to see there show at 7;30. They took us early that got us in on time. Food was excellent every one raved about there selections. Service was excellent. Very nice. Price is pricey but truthfully you get what you pay for. Great place for special occasions . By far the best fine dining in Wheeling.
Besides the French onion soup being too burnt and salty the entire experience was excellent. Thanks to our server for taking the soup off the bill. Will be back
Thank you for the wonderful service ....4 of us were at dinner celebrating 3 of our birthdays they surprised us with dessert we were greatly appricitative
The last couple of time we have been at the pointe it has been very slow
It was all good except for the smoke filled dining room.
Wonderful! But the music was terrible! The only complaint I have about our dinner!
Seafood night at the buffet was cooked better. Service was slow, waited for ever to get a drink.
Very nice experience for our anniversary dinner. Great food, very good service and a nice surprize of a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Thank you!
Food was delicious, our server exceptional, we always look forward to dining at the Point.
The food was wonderful, the service was spectacular, the atmosphere was superb and the price wasn’t too bad,the wife and I wanted to try something different so we thought we would give it a shot,so glad we did,we will be eating here more often
Great service!! Great food while gambling!! Nice break feom the casino floor.
Great food and service! We both had seafood and it was cooked perfectly. Great service as well!
A little salty, but delicious none the less. Always filling.
Early dinner with a friend. We split a Caeser salad and both had strip steaks and fingerling potatoes. The steaks were perfectly done and seasoned well. Everything was very good; and our waitstaff, Marianne, could not have been more attentive or friendly.
We had Becky as our server. She was very nice, very attentive and very friendly.
That was our second time there to eat at the Pointe. I actually ordered the same thing to eat this time as the first. The augratin potatoes were not as good as the first time I had them. I was somewhat disappointed.
Just upon walking in, the overwhelming odor and smoke from the ill working exhaust was our first notification of how the dinner was headed.
We ordered the arancini app which took a very long time but tasted ok. I got the lobster tails and my husband got the filet, it was a very long wait again and my tails were EXTREMELY dry, there was no seasoning at all, no salt, butter NOTHING but it being hard as a rock was absolutely inedible, the waitress insisted she took it back and have them done right after multiple times of me saying NO!! When my husband cut open his filet, not one speck of juice came out, NOT ONE, it was dry and not seasoned either, he asked for heinz 57 which they didn't have and he hates A1 so there was nothing to try and make it better.
It took sooo long for the second set of lobster tails and we were so disappointed we told waitress we wanted to leave so they boxed the second set of tails and charged us $120. RIDICULOUS!!! I did enjoy 2 pineapple upside down drinks that tasted very good but there no alcohol in them!! I RARELY drink, so 2 drinks will usually knock me on my butt but i felt absolutely nothing!! This experience was horrible from start to finish, please don't waste your time or money here!!! They could offer us a free meal and I wouldn't waste my time!!!
always very good, your food buffet needs some big time work. I always come on Sundays and you need Paul back there again cooking omelets.
The Pointe never disappoints and that is why I often return. Quality food and impeccable service is a regularity. My server was Shawnta' and she always provides quality, friendly service.
There were tiny gnats in the air around the table which were annoying and detracted from the ambiance.
Our waitress was amazing. Food was the most incredible ever. Steak was amazing. .. calamari ....lamb lolly pops ...bread .... lump crab ..asparagus..... the lobster mac and cheese is out of this world .
We have dined at the pointe several times without an issue with meals or service. Everything was prepared properly and timely each time. Servers were always very attentive.
The food was amazing. Crab cakes were spot on! I had the lobster mac & cheese, again spot on. My daughter in law had the Sirloin Oscar and fingerling potatoes, she stated best cooked steak she ever had.
We will continue to dine there when we visit Wheeling Island.
Great food and amazing service. This is without a doubt the best fine dining restaurant in Wheeling. Our server, Marianne, made the experience all the better with her helpful food recommendations and comprehensive knowledge of the menu and food specials. She even offered combinations not on the menu such as a "Surf and Turf" of filet mignon and lobster tail. The 4 of us enjoyed everything with the exception of the calamari which we found to be a bit blandly seasoned, beyond that, however, our experience was amazing. The salmon special was great, the surf and turf perfectly, succulently cooked, the Mahi Mahi was amazing, and the shared plates of house salad, and macaroni lobster were yummy. We were stuffed when the decadent chocolate tort came to the table but couldn't resist! Only 2 suggestions - 1) come hungry. The portions are ample!, 2) be aware if you get the large booth by the kitchen and chef's kitchen, it can get warm - there's a lot going on back there! You might consider a table closer upfront.
We were seated right away. The atmosphere was very nice. Our waitress Mary Ann went above and beyond . We had a wonderful expierence.
Long wait on food, very expensive meal for two, but service staff was excellent and mood was great as long as there’s no one laughing like a hyena at the bar outside.
Meal was amazing! Becky, our server, went over and above to make our dinner special.
Wonderful food wonderful server and it was a very nice evening the only thing was it was a very noisy man behind us. Had nothing to do with the great service and good food at the restaurant.
Good is always delicious and wait staff are always great. We love it there
I've eaten at the Point several times. The last two times, my wait for my food has been over an hour. This past experience was quite embarrassing. I promoted how great the food was, but yet it took forever to get our main meal. Our waitress was outstanding, and very apologetic, but that is no excuse for the delay in service. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but to wait over an hour for a dinner is something I cannot excuse.
Atmosphere was once again calm and relaxing. I ordered the Berkshire Pork Ribs which I never have tried before but was told they were sold out . So I got my favorite (Prime Rib),it was room temperature when I received it due to my girl friends Double Cut Pork chop having to cook longer. (Per waitress). it took over an hour to get are food which is really NOT the norm. The manager came over and asked how everything was and I explained about my prime rib. He asked if they needed to warm it up and I said NO thank you. When I received my bill at the end of the night a deduction was made by the manager without me even requesting! Again, the site is a class act and we all have some minor miscues but once again they take care of the CUSTOMER! (THANK YOU AGAIN)
The service was terrible. Not busy but the waiter was slow the entire meal. Portions are to small for the price but the quality of the meal was good
It was nice going to dinner here, but for the price, you expect no problems with your food. However, my wife had to send her food back three times because it was cold. I ordered my steak medium and it was almost at the well done stage. Waitress was awesome, best service we had since we began going there. To be a truly fine dining restaurant, food needs to be at the top level. It was not this time.
Service was good, food was overcooked, wort lobster tails and lobster Mac and cheese we ever had, food took hour and half
Great experience. Super impressed with the friendly staff and service. Lobster tails were a bit tough but overall it was a great dinner.
Valentines Day, it was a nice evening out, service took a little while but we were relaxing so didn’t mind, my chicken was a little dry and I didn’t like the hand of palm with my chicken, but everything else was very good, received a complimentary rose which I loved along with complimentary wine, very nice touch, would have been nice to have a romantic entertainer there playing a piano
My husband got the steak Oscar style and I tried it. The hollandaise/bernaise was flat, not very rich like it should be and I fear it was made from a package. His asparagus was also overcooked. My asparagus was perfect. Lobster was good, if a little overcooked. Calamari was perfectly cooked. We got the trio creme brulee. The classic vanilla was fantastic, but the honey was very runny, not custard like at all and the chocolate wasn't a homogenized product..all the chocolate had stuck to the bottom...not sure if that was intential or not.
I work in a kitchen so these things stand out for me and I would want to know if my food went out without being 100%. Overalll we enjoyed ourselves and our server was excellent!!!
PS. If you have an open expo/kitchen, the kitchen staff should remember they are on display and a part of the dining ambiance, the blonde female chef in particular.
My girlfriend and I ate at your restaurant for an early Valentine's dinner. To start things off service was extremely slow getting to the table to even take an order then it took almost an hour to get our food. Upon getting our food my overpriced steak was also overcooked and her red lobster waa tough like rubber. I will not be attending this restaurant anymore as I would expect a lot higher for the $140 price tag that was placed on the ticket.
