The Pointe Restaurant
We've been to The Pointe several times and we've never been disappointed. The service is always exceptional. The food is consistently good and while it's not a huge menu, they always have several specials. This visit we had the brussel sprout appetizer which was AMAZING - a little honey and a little heat - we loved them. The cocktails are creative and always a nice pour. The view is also lovely and parking is super convenient at the monument lot right next door. I think they could get overlooked since they are not on commercial street, but they shouldn't be missed.
Very few people that evening but food was delicious and service was excellent. Perfect venue for our last night on vacation.
Food was very average and wait staff was stretched too thin. Nice location and good view, however.
I've always heard mixed reviews about the Pointe over the last several years and decided to make my own assessment this past Saturday evening for a dear friend's birthday celebration.
We arrived a little early for our 5:30 reservation and went to the bar for a drink.
The bartender was friendly, professional, and very seasoned.
Joe, the manager, came to let us know our table was ready and showed us to a nice table overlooking Bradford St. We chatted with Joe for a bit, and he was very kind.
That is where the experience took a complete nose-dive!
Our server, Bobby, came over after we were sitting for quite some time and gave us some water.
He seemed very out of it, and had a loud nervous laugh that really startled us all.
He let us know he was new, and it seemed as though he was also new to waiting tables, as he did not return for about 12 minutes later to take an appetizer and drink order.
Being new to the Pointe, we had questions about the food, and Bobby did not seem very well-versed nor trained in the menu he was selling.
We made our selections for both appetizers, drinks, and entrees, and Bobby was off.
At the time, we were only one of a handful of tables in the restaurant, as it was early.
Bobby disappeared for long periods of time, and we missed the little things like refills on water, some bread, while we waited over 20 minutes for clam chowder and salad.
Each time Bobby came by, he took things off the table without asking, and this was really off-putting to myself and my guests during our special dinner.
At one point, he stacked all of our plates, and we let him know that we weren't done with the romaine heart salad; which was now on the bottom of the stack.
He apologized and put the salad back on the table!!
This continued throughout the meal with drinks and other items.
At one point, we had to let him know that he cleared an almost full Manhattan from the bar.
The errors continued through the end of the meal; including getting the wrong birthday dessert
Roddy, I would like to apologize for your experience at The Pointe restaurant last Saturday. We do not take your feedback lightly and always strive to make every guest experience an enjoyable one. I left my contact information in a private response. Please reach out at your earliest convenience if you are able. Kind regards, David
A beautiful setting with a full view of the Monument. Great location just off Bradford. Food is delicious.
Lovely restaurant setting in historic Provincetown with enclosed patio giving idyllic views of the Pilgrim Monument and Bradford street scene. The wait staff is professional, and the restaurant is associated with a very fine hotel. A short walk from the Macmillan Wharf and activities on Commercial street, it the perfect spot to wind up a days activities, or start an evening on the town. The food is top notch, with plenty of local seafood fresh from the boat. Great desserts and wine list make this a place one my family and I come back to year after year.
Food is always excellent; Bobby was a superb waiter.
I have gone to this restaurant for over ten years and never had a bad experience. This time, however, was completely different. The interior space was revamped in extremely dark colors and just about the entire staff was different. While our server was pleasant enough, she got the cocktail order totally wrong. Menu items that were always good had been dropped and replaced with others that were poorly thought out. One of the entree specials..the pork Milanese was actually inedible. Dessert fared no better and the coffee was extremely weak and tepid. It will be quite a while before I go back...if at all. It wasn’t broken and didn’t need to be fixed.
Thank you for dining with us so frequently over the last ten years. We are lucky to have a new and vibrant staff with us this year that is dedicated to making our guest experience superb. In the very rare chance an entree is, as you said above, inedible, our restaurant manager, Joseph, is always swift to take it back to the kitchen and offer an alternative. We always appreciate feedback during your meal so we can best assist you and make your dining experience with us a positive one.
Beautiful dining room and wonderful food. Service was a bit curt. Still, can highly recommend, and will return.
Best dining experience in Provincetown.. staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable
I'm glad you enjoyed your dining experience Hope to see you again! David
Beautiful spot for dinner in P-town. Great views of the Pilgrim Monument. Food was delicious and service was great. Reasonably priced for a touristy town. Not overly crowded and the fact it is not on Commercial Street is a welcome amenity.
Thanks for the great review! David
Our dining experience was a bit rushed as we were fitting in a meal before an evening show so we skipped appetizers and went straight to entree ordering. First time all of us experienced seeing the specials visually on a person device table side. Nice touch!
Felt like we waited quite a while for our meals but when they did arrive everyone was more than pleased and the staff was very nice.
Glad you enjoyed your dinner see you soon!
The service was excellent, food delicious!!! The white bean hummus and the tuna tartare were amazing!
Great food, wonderful service, we are looking forward to returning.
Nice cozy place with very good food. Have been there several times and it’s always good. Very friendly staff and lovely setting. Off the beaten path of commercial street but definitely worth a visit.
We had a great meal, the staff was wonderful. It was a last minute choice, but we were treated fantastic and we loved the restaurant . The food was great, and I highly recommend The Pointe!
Pleasant Terrific lobster And the gnocchi was great as were the escargot
The food was superb. Best Filet in town!
One of the best restaurants in Provincetown.
Awesome! thanks for your review david
What a terrific find! Loved the ambiance, service and food. Best filet mignon ever!!!!
Great service and food!! Would definitely recommend.
Dining in Provincetown is going to be expensive even for a casual meal, so we opted to pay for one that was well-prepared, and that's what we got at The Pointe. Sat in a pleasant glassed-in porch. Brussels sprouts special appetizer was delicious, as were the burgers. Service, however, was very slow. Fine for us--we were happy to linger--but not so fine if you have after-dinner plans. Around 10 the place started to empty out and we felt a bit rushed along to finish, not so much by our server as by tables being swept clear and hastily wiped down around us. Ironic since we were there that late due to slow service. Nevertheless, the value for the meal, location considered, was good and we would consider coming back.
Wonderful meal and service. We would go back again anytime!
We had dinner before the theatre and the staff was very helpful in getting us to the show on time
the service and food were top shelf
I really like this place and have had a number of lovely meals here, but something happened tonight. There was a long pause after the appetizers, and then my steak and fries arrived cold. They took it back immediately and it came back out quickly, now over cooked and with the same fries even colder. The manager and server were lovely about it, but I left hungry. My dinner partner had almost finished his dish before I could take a bite of mine. Very strange.
The food is delicious, the waitstaff is amazing and attentive, and the atmosphere is festive.
The scallion risotto was the best I ever had. In fact, I usually don’t like risotto. I’ve been to The Pointe before and was never disappointed. I brought a friend who was in PTown for the first time.
The food was excellent (Lobster Gnocchi and Steak Frites) the service was attentive without being overbearing and the setting was beautiful
Had my 50th birthday dinner and the staff and evening manager were fabulous. The brussel sprouts, tequila cosmo and lobster with chive knocchi were amazing. To top it off, I bought a cake from Connie's Bakery, which was like a leaning tower of cake and manager helped serve my rainbow with grace and I sincerely appreciated his efforts. Definitely a must restaurant if you are in P-Town!
Another terrific meal & dining experience. Already looking forward to next years P-town vacation & dinner at the Pointe.
Make your reservations early, because this place books up fast! It was the perfect way to spend a balmy summer evening visiting this historic town. The Pointe Restaurant team was so friendly and included the outstanding hospitality team of Ken, Bo, Julie, and Suzanne. Ken was extremely attentive from start to finish. For the appetizer, we ordered the bacon clothesline which was totally divine! On to the main course, the steak dish was so filling. No meal is really complete without dessert however. The neighboring table had this mint ice cream slathered inside a huge chocolate chip cookie -- plenty for two people. We ordered that, and it was the perfect way to conclude our evening. This was a flawless experience in terms of service, presentation, cuisine flavor, cleanliness, and ambience with upbeat modern lounge music filling the background. Definitely make this your first stop when you get into town; you will not regret it!
Food and service was very good!
Always love John the chef!
Fabulous as always!!!
The food was so delicious. Everyone loved their meals halibut, pork tenderloin with butternut squash raviolis. The services were wonderful and friendly. We will return on our next trip, one of the best meals we experienced.
Excellent service. Very professional staff. Specials were really good. Ginger martini is a must try. Not on Commercial so more quiet. Does have some parking.
Excellent meal, good service
Arrived about 10 minutes early & were seated right away. Reservation was for six & since we were early were able to take advantage of the buy one get one entree 50% off which was nice. As usual the service & food was excellent. Staff is very friendly, accommodating and work seamlessly together making the dining experience a joy. Looking forward to going back before vacations end.
Food is always outstanding with a great view of The Pilgrim Monument.
Love the Pointe. We drove 2 hours just to have dinner here. Have been here multiple times and it’s always great. We love the lobster and gnocchi and the bacon deviled eggs. We get it every time.
The Pointe was awesome! We had reservations for 530 and because we were seated before 6pm, they had a special for 50% off the second entree. We ordered the lobster (2lbs) which was $45 and well worth the money and the salmon (to die for). Casey was whipping up some amazing drinks at the bar and the Bees Knees was a sweet drink that hit the spot with a chunk of honeycomb. Overall it was a great dinner and they brought us over a wine toast for our anniversary. Def will visit again.
