The Point at Glenwood
Food was out of a freezer bag, can or bottle. The food came out cold.
Excellent variety of food. Excellent specials. Good beer. Good prices.
Brunch buffet was a great. Plenty of options and all delicious
We have been to the Point many times. The food is always good, and service is outstanding.
Since they have a wide variety of food options, you can always find something good to eat.
Will certainly go again.
Great food and wonderful service! Always have a nice experience
Staff is great. The food is awesome. It's a little loud for a date kind of experience but great for a small gathering of friends. Dress can be casual or fancy. Business casual seems to be the norm. The serving sizes are good, meaning plenty for the hungry but not so much that you feel bad for leaving some behind. We enjoyed the experience tremendously.
The food was pretty good. Our server had zero personality. They served frozen cheesecake and very dry German Chocolate cake. Definitely don't order the desserts.
We have come to consider The Point as one of our go to neighborhood bars. The service is always wonderful, and the people are friendly.
I am gluten-free so my options are limited, but I like the place anyway.
The perfect location when paired with a night at the Rialto. A great variety of food choices...many that sounded quite good to me. The Shepherd's Pie was their special that night, and it was delicious! An unexpected plus is that because we were eating early in order to make a show at the Rialto, The Point was offering half price on appetizers. There were many great choices, and the special pricing made it easy to try more than one. I would definitely go back!
Excellent service and attentive waiter...food was great as well.
Food was great at the Sunday brunch as usual, but the service has really gone down. There was confusion at the door when we came in with a reservation and it didn't get much better from there. We won't be back for awhile.
Picked the restaurant for proximity to another event in the area, close by.
Staff very prompt, courteous, & accommodating.
Got one order wrong, but honest mistake, & made things RIGHT!
Would definitely go again, and experience huge outside bar with cooler weather🏈
Have to give the restaurant great kudos due to weather issues & loss of power not much more than an hour before we arrived, and they navigated that as if it were nothing. Great job to all!!!👍
The overall experience was just okay. The hostess was pleasant. The manager was world class. The prime rib was horrible and the server was inattentive! I would give the restaurant another try because we are all entitled to a bad day!
Everything was in order for our reservation and we were promptly seated in our requested area. We are long-time patrons and fans of The Point.
The menu is diverse and appealing.
Casual restaurant that is a little loud but the food is consistently really good! Whether you're getting the ooey, gooey cheesesteak or the Sashimi Tuna it's consistently tasty! Great neighborhood joint!
First time there. LOVED everything. Our server was AMAZING! Even the occasional drip from the overhead pipes didn’t bother us. Just added to the atmosphere.
Everything has been fine over the years until last Sunday when we were there before old movie night at the Rialto. We shared a large pizza with another couple and it came out burned all the way through. I actually like the crust a little singed but this was burned through and through. We wanted to send it back but there was not enough time before the movie. Fact is, the kitchen should never have sent it out in that condition.
The Point is one of my favorite lunch places. Sometimes I order off the menu, while other times I have the buffet with soups, pizza and a salad. A bargain. I always find the staff friendly and the food is very good.
We eat here almost every week and generally get the Saturday special.
Last time we mixed things up and got the BBQ ribs.
OMG! They were fabulous! To say they were meaty would be an understatement. They were MEATY with a wonderful sweet sauce.
We love ribs and generally go elsewhere. Ha! Not anymore!!
The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful and friendly! My family will definitely be back. The macaroni was especially delicious, and the waffles and pancakes were decadent.
There were a number of children running around the restaurant and were quite loud
Food and service were awful
The food was spectacular and had wonderful flavors. Really great concept with wood fired entrees other than pizza. Food came out quickly and how we had ordered with the food being piping hot. However, the service was very slow and inattentive. Although we wanted to enjoy a leisurely dinner, our waitress would disappear for lengthly periods of time, plates were not cleared and some items forgotten where we needed to remind were needed. Other tables looked to be receiving more timely service so it could be a one off situation, but disappointing.
We went for the Father’s Day brunch. Service was great. We had the same server we’d had during our first visit in May. The food was ok. The grits on the buffet had no salt at all and were very bland, which was disappointing cause 3 of us in our party really wanted the shrimp and grits. Everything else tasted fine. We loved the made to order omelets and the $5 mimosas!
Fathers Day brunch with kids. Service was outstanding and food amazing.
I enjoyed the wood fired seafood and my daughter enjoyed making her own pizza, nice touch!
Good neighborhood restaurant. Good food at a good value. Excellent service. Can be a bit loud when crowded. A go to place
Just awesome all around - 5 stars every category. Cool environment- had a great time trying this place for the first time.
Love the crabcakes and excellent side salad. Scott is our all time favorite waiter and even remembers the wine I like! Point Halibut is also very good. Bootlegger was enjoyed by another who said is was great with peppered sides as well as sauce.
The pizzas were delicious. Our service couldn’t have been better! Going back as soon as possible!
a great little find in the heart of Five Points. Very good menu selection that includes apps, salads, sandwiches, entrees. I had the soup of the day, a bourbon onion soup and it was delicious! then a steak salad - also very good. Very solid experience with 5 of us dining. only downside was i wanted a vodka and grapefruit juice (Greyhound) and they didn't have the juice at the bar. I lived with a cranberry and vodka.
Always a joy! One of those classic neighbourhood restaurants where everyone feels like family. Nothing better than sharing a fairly priced bottle of wine with yummy hot crab dip and enjoying either the famous lasagna, big chopped salad with shrimp or salmon, burgers, freshly made wood-fired pizza or any of the many options available. Dine inside in a booth or table, outside with umbrellas tables or at one of the two bar areas. Definitely a tried and true place.
This review should be take with a grain of salt because we visited The Point on Mother's Day, which is the busiest restaurant day of the year.
That said, my issues were with the food, not the service. I ordered one of the specials - Shrimp and Grits. Weirdly it came with corn bread (which I never got) and two sides. The choices of sides were Honey Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Roasted Broccoli, Baked Potato and one other thing I can't remember, but I believe it was a starch.
I didn't want any of those sides but ordered the brussel sprouts and potato (which I took home). The brussel sprouts were literally one of the worst things I've ever eaten. They were not 'roasted' but soggy and weirdly sweet (I always drizzle mine in maple syrup but these were gross).
The shrimp and grit came out cold (how could that be for a special of the night). The flavor was good enough, though it came with bay shrimp and I'm used to nice large shrimp.
The Seared Tuna was okay, but bland. The pizzas were very good. The onion rings were terrific!
All in all, not my favorite. However, it may be one of the those places where if you order right - pizza and burgers (which looked good) you end up with a delicious and inexpensive dinner.
Food was adequate, it not to write home about, fair at best Service was poor, considering it was it as crowded as on other Rialto Cinema Inc. movie nights. server was rude
Very nice experience
Mother’s Day brunch we were 2nd group seated in dining area. Waited 5-10 minutes before server greeted us our server was MIA most of our meal. Server dropped check off then retrieved when payment presented. We paid with cash and waited another 10 minutes for our change. Food was saving grace for this meal as our server was not attentive and having flies buzz around our table was unappetizing.
The food was fantastic as always. The place was very crowded due to being Mother’s Day weekend, graduations going and graduations. That being said very very noisy. Every other time we’ve been there it’s wonderful you always return.
Took forever to get seated. There was not a hostess at the desk. Food was ok.
Wonderful food, delightful people, difficult parking . . .
Sunday Brunch at The Point at Glenwood food and service is outstanding. Will be back again and a must if you have not been for brunch!
