Thanksgiving 2017.....been coming for years on Thanksgiving. Reception area had the reservation wrong though it was confirmed no less than 3 time. Then they would not seat us til the 5th person showed up. OK, no problem. The bread is excellent and the service superb. The salad was....unusual. The soup delicious. The turkey entree delicious and the chocolate dessert, not good. Not sure i believe that michelin star....but one of the only restaurants open for Thanksgiving.

The service and staff was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful, quiet, and lovely.

However, I am vegan and was disappointed. The salad was great, though small, the vegan soup was more water than soup with a couple tiny pieces of vegetables, and the only vegan entree option was noodles with contained 6 slices of mushroom and a couple tablespoons of broth. The dessert was a spattering of granola with fruit and some foam, so small and not at all what I’ve experienced in other restaurants.

We went for Thanksgiving and enjoyed our meal. The salad and soup were good, turkey on the dry side. The service was excellent as was our wine.

It was good... but not extraordinary good. I have to be honest, we did not take the Chef's menu which I assume is where probably more magic happens, but I assumed that a la carte dishes would be great. They were not. Simply good. One star worthy? not in my opinion. For the standing and the amount on the check I was expecting more.
The little extras offered by the house were fantastic but the entrees lacked a little oomph in my humble opinion. (We had the king salmon which was weird both in taste and consistency, we all tried it and could not really decide if it was good... The branzino which was good but not super special and the suckling pig which was the less favored of the 3. Deserts were a let down too, I had the purple rain and I though it was really bland and doughy and lacked contrast even with the passion fruit foam which was almos inexistant both in quantity and flavor)

What a major disappointment. Service was terrible. They must have been focused on a large group in the adjacent room, because everyone around us had to wait an exceptionally long time for their courses to be served. And as the evening progressed we ended up having to ask for basic items like bread. So far below the service expected from a 1-star restaurant.

Most importantly the food was mediocre. The opening vegetable dish and the fish course from the tasting menu were good. The meat courses were neither creative nor particularly flavorful to our tastes. The dessert was completely uninteresting with no seasonal flare.

There are so many better alternatives in this price range. Certainly we will not go back, and we would discourage our friends from going as well.

AS always, this is a wonderful experience. The staff is great, the food is outstanding (and the menu is frequently renewed). This is one well deserved Michelin Star.

Everything at the Plumed Horse was spectacular. The service was warm but unobtrusive; the tables were far enough apart that we could hear each other; the decor was magnificent, and the food was heavenly. I opted not to have the tasting menu because there were a couple of dishes with mushroom as an ingredient, which I don't eat. After a small caviar treat (exquisite presentation), I chose the parmesan souffle with crab and uni fondue (the nice plump chunks of crabmeat contrasted beautifully with the creamy consistency of the fondue and souffle). My husband had the seared NY State foie gras, slightly crusty on the outside and creamy on the inside. Both appetizers were heavenly. We both had the lamb with lima beans and crisp Brussels sprout leaves (tried to replicate those the next day because they were divine - epic fail). The servers gave us excellent recommendations for paired wine for each dish. We will definitely go back; loved every minute of it.

Once again, Peter, Jeff & Josh paved the way with hospitality and a superior tasting menu. It’s easy to recommend Plumed Horse and easier to find another reason to go back.

Congratulations on your 2018 Michelin star.

Great food, great service. The staff was more than attentive, they recommended stuff that I wouldn't have ordered on my own but im glad they did. Service alone was more than exceptional, the food and wine pairing was great too.

Once again, our experience at Plumed Horse was superb. Delicious, inventive food. Attentive, smooth service. The Davenport abalone was a highlight on the tasting menu. As were the heirloom carrots (prepared various different ways) with black sesame paste. Everything was well balanced. Wine recommendations were perfect for the meal. We'll be back.

Wonderful culinary experience. The tasting menu was delicate and very subtle, presented as art pieces and portion size ideal to be able to enjoy until last plate. The wine pairing is a must even if I would advise not to finish each glass. Was worth 40 min drive.

What an amazing Anniversary Dinner. How this place doesn't have 3 Michelin Stars is beyond me. We were celebrating our Anniversary dinner and they made sure we knew that they were aware of that and did extra special things like a free glass of Champagne. From the ambiance, to the service, to the fabulous cuisine, everything was top notch. We cannot wait to come back and dine with them again!

Food was too greasy.

We ordered four tasting menus during dinner, and none of us felt good after the meal. Some of the dishes seemed to be not prepared well. The taste was ordinary. I would rather go to a normal cheap restaurant.

The food is prepared perfectly, although it will take a while to get to you. If you are here for dinner, expect no less than 2.5 hours to complete. There a little "gifts" from the chef, amuse bouche etc, as the night goes on which preps the taste buds for the main course. The service is as top notch as one would expect from a Michelin star restaurant; you will want for very little in this department. The ambiance is great and the bar area is awesome. My biggest complaint and warning to those who have their favorite wines is their corkage fee. Setting you back $50, it is cost prohibitive to bring your favorite bottle of vino no matter how fancy the decanter. My recommendation is to try one of the many delicious wines they carry and just expect that this dinner is a special occasion and expect to shell out for it. Obviously this is written by someone without endless disposable income, so if you find yourself more economically endowed and love your private wine collection, carry on as you were!

I did not try the tasting menu (7-8 courses if I remember) but that will be the one thing I most look forward to. The food execution and presentation on every dish makes it imperative that I return to indulge in said menu's decadence: I mean isn't that what special occasions are for?

We celebrated our anniversary here. We did not go for tasting menu since we both are not big eaters. We each ordered an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Each course was very good. Service was excellent. They brought out a few complimentary small bites in between. Bread was served throughout the meal. At the end, with our dessert, they brought a dish with written "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate. Our server poured us champagne even though we passed on champagne when we first arrived. We left the restaurant happy. This is a place we would come again for special occasions.

We enjoyed the tasting menu but even though we skipped lunch; it was too many courses. Our plan was to order appetizers and entrees, but the entrees didn't look as appetizing as items on the tasting menu. It was not about price. We believe it is fairly priced, but would like to see more entree choices though. We will be back to most likely have appetizers only or appetizers and entrees. Overall we did have an enjoyable evening. Love the champagne cart!

A Michelin one star restaurant with the attitude to match. Very limited menu choices other than the Tasting Menu which the "chef prefers" that all in the party order, if one guest orders it. Food was interesting to look at, but nearly lost on the oversized plate for the portion size on which it was presented. Taste was okay but no "oh wow!" moments. An exercise in form over substance. Extensive wine list, with by the glass selections limited and pricey.
Main dining room was open and inviting with Chihuly chandeliers with changing color a highlight. Other dining areas seemed to be rather ordinary. Beautiful bar which was very lively on a Friday night.

My birthday dinner took place on 9/27/17 at The Plumed Horse. It was nice to make a selection from the Champagne Cart. We both ordered the tasting menu and I chose the regular wine pairing. The food overall was very good, but the service not so. I can say that our water glasses were refilled regularly; I have read complaints that water glasses were not refilled. However, my wines were placed before me long before each course; a good half hour took place between each course. In one instance a Viognier for the course following my next course was mistakenly brought instead of the Sancerre and left.I had not touched it, and asked that when the time came for the according course it would be replaced as it was now warm. We opted to have Italian black truffles shaved over our Wagyu beef course for an extra charge. The waitress appeared to have no idea how to shave truffles; shavings piled up on top of the shaver, which was obviously set at too narrow a setting; but they did not end up on my plate. I ended up with one shred of truffle and crumbles from the cap on my beef, and my husband did not fare much better. Additionally, black truffles are normally cooked before serving; it is the Alba white truffle which is best appreciated raw. For the Wagyu beef course the waiter poured too generously for a tasting, perhaps 4 to 5 ounces of wine. We were not served one of the dessert courses--the Roaring Forties blue cheese course. The course we *were* served did not appear to match the description of the port "jewels", but that is a lesser matter. My birthday treat was a half-glass of rose sparkling wine for each of us at the end of the meal; but by this time I had had enough wine and was not able to drink it. It would have been more appropriate to offer complimentary glasses of Champagne at the start of the meal. Though the food is interesting and well-prepared, this restaurant lacks professionalism and I am surprised at its Michelin star.

Overall experience, wonderful. We did go on a hot, usually hot evening so my husband wore shorts and flip flops, with that attire we could not sit in the dinning room. Though it ended up better for us in the long run because we sat a the bar. Funny thing is that men could go in with blue jeans on and tennis shoes, which seemed just as casual as nice shorts and flip flops. Either way we had a glorious time.

There were truly clever moments throughout the evening. Very delicalety crafted plates and expert precision to the courses. We appreciated the chandeliers even more as the evening went on. We split one wine pairing and each got our own chef tasting menus. (They do offer vegetarian chef tasting which was cool.) Each course was better than the next. Although hands down the guinea hen was my favorite. Then the chocolate course. You will enjoy yourself thoroughly when you go.
