Van de OpenTable-redactie: Sinds de opening in 1952 is The Plumed Horse een bestemming voor fijnproevers, met degustatiemenu's geïnspireerd op Californië. Dit pareltje met een wijnkelder met bijna 20.000 flessen, lounge en open haard is bekroond met een Michelinster. The Plumed Horse Restaurant has been a beacon of South Bay fine dining since 1952. Led by Executive Chef Peter Armellino, it is a destination for those travelling to visit, yet retains its landmark status as a place to relax, unwind, enjoy, and indulge for locals. Michelin has agreed, awarding Chef Peter a star for 15 consecutive years.Chef's tasting menu, composed of multiple courses featuring items from local farms and fishermen, is the highlight. A la carte is offered in select seatings on certain evenings.Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but you are here for a special night out, dressing up is fun! While not required, suits, sportcoats and classy attire will generally get you the best seats in the house.We are an "adult restaurant." If you are bringing in younger patrons, we want to make it a great experience for every guest. We ask for no tablet or cell-phone entertainment that might disturb others. This is your night to make memories with each other as a family.

Celebrate Mom with a Michelin-Starred daytime service from Chef Peter Armellino, along with LOTS of Champagne to toast to her special day! We will be serving a 5-course menu for $165 per guest, and will have a 3-course option for young children for $95. We look forward to seeing you! Seatings for our daytime service begin at 10:00 AM, with our last seating at 2:00 PM. In lieu of a tip or gratuity, a 22% service charge will be applied to all purchases, no further tip is expected.

Please note that we will not be offering our prix fixe menu this evening, we will exclusively be featuring our Mothers' Day tasting menu. Food was awesome. Our waiter was attentive, and support staff and sommelier were perfect. A true gem of the south bay.

the food and services were exceptional. Although we are not from California , a service fee was added to out bill. We feel this should have been identified to us up front so we were aware. We were also asked if we wanted a glass of champagne for a birthday celebration but did not realize that we were then charged for the whole bottle even though we only had 3 glasses

This restaurant has always been my “go to“ comfort place when I want fine dining and a new food experience. Of course, it is not “cheap“ but often you get what you pay for, and I do believe that the Plumed Horse delivers for the pricing they have. All of their dishes present themselves as unique, wonderful delights to taste. My group enjoyed sharing the entire dessert menu at the end of our meal and found each one standing on its own quite well. the various waiters were very attentive to our needs during the entire meal without being annoyingly hanging over us as sometimes restaurants over do this aspect. It is no wonder that this restaurant has continued to enjoy Michelin star status for as long as I can remember.

Four of us had the fixe prix 4 course dinner. Two of us had vegetarian courses and the other two regular courses. Each dish was better than the last. Service was absolutely fabulous. The food came at appropriate intervals, allowing us to enjoy the food and our conversation. Will definitely go to enjoy again. At $128 ppI thought it was good value for money.

The 4 course menu is indeed an experience in itself with everything from the service to food was impeccable. Highly recommend the crab soufflé and Project G cocktail and go with their sommelier’s pairing suggestions.

The food offered no remarkable qualities, simply being adequate. The service was similarly underwhelming, and they demonstrated a lack of consideration by beginning the dish explanation before my wife returned from the restroom.

The food was barely acceptable. The 1st course was good, the souffle was way too greasy. We ordered the duck breast & ribeye. Both too salt.

The Plumed Horse stands out as one of the finest dining experiences I have had. The ambience was immaculate. The staff was knowledgeable, unobtrusive, and efficient. Bar manager Chris Ward is a true mixologist and his cocktails are without peer, were he to author a book it would have a seat next to Liquid Intelligence in my home library. Though I did not choose to pair my meal with wine, the wit and presence of Sommelier Jeffrey Perisho still added a touch of panache to the evening. Chef Armellino is a culinary genius not only in the preparation of the individual dishes but also the order in which they are presented, each dish surpassing the one that came before. I shall look back on my evening at the Plumed Horse fondly for the rest of my days.
