Everything was absolutely lovely from the service to the food to the ambiance we will certainly be back again
An excellent meal held in very convivial surroundings.
Good food, lovely friendly efficient staff, nothing negative to say.
Absolutely lovely place which was recommended by our Surf Instructor (One to One Surf). Outstanding food for very hungry people on a surfing holiday with a warm and cozy atmosphere with very friendly staff. We will be back for sure! :)
It sounded quite noisy in the conservatory but we were in the old part and far enough away for it to be a minor inconvenience. Food and service excellent as usual.
Great food and servers are polite and timely! Would 100% recommend!!
The conservatory was comfortable and relatively quite for our Wednesday lunch. The steak and kidney pie was delicious the pastry was thin and crispy and tasted amazing. We will definitely be returning to try more dishes.
Tasty food and super friendly staff! Really enjoyed our lunch 😁
Plume of Feathers was fantastic, we were all very impressed. We sat outdoors and all was lovely, very peaceful gardens and all was very clean and a high standard of covid security, we especially appreciated the nice scented sanitiser available. The food was fantastic, we had the smashed avocardo lunches and it was lovely. Will definitely be back.
I have been going to the Plume with family and friends for over 10 years and love the friendly staff and ambience. This is the very first time I have found anything to criticize about the restaurant. The mackerel starter was extremely small and totally burnt. Our main meals although really nice were so small that we made ourselves snacks when we got home. Not ideal!!!!
Really great food and service definitely be returning
Lovely meal again as always, love going back to The Plume. Friendly staff and like the new lay out for accommodating the dogs.
Great food, fantastic service, nice clean restaurant. Overall the whole evening was brilliant, lots of parking and the staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The conservatory is light and airy and perfect for our family lunch. Good food and drink and efficient service. Top class all round.
Good food and choice, well presented. Friendly team, professional service.
Can highly recommend!
The food is lovely. Sometimes the service is very slow. Overall very good though.
Sadly not a pleasant experience this time. Only one lady serving food arrived wrong was replaced but still had to ask several times for things to be changed. Food not great
The conservatory at the Plume is lovely, light and airy. The service was very good. We have eaten there before and out of 5 diners 3 of us had fish and chips, on previous visits these have been excellent with a light crispy almost tempura batter, not so yesterday which disappointed . 2 of our 5 coffees had to be returned to be warmed up so not 5 stars on this occasion.
Lovely venue, very spacious and beautiful decor. Food was delicous and service was good. All the staff were really welcoming and friendly
Service was very slow. It took over 35 minutes to get drinks! Poor allergen advice on the menu resulting in my son having a reaction and a hospital visit!!
FABULOUS A first time local visitor there to meet old friends who are down in Cornwall for our wedding.
What can we say? First class in every way. The young waiter who was tall and wore glasses was about as good as it gets. We will be back soon.
We found this pub in June when things were still a little difficult to find a place open. We liked it so much came back for a second visit. Am sure will not be the last as we visit this area of Cornwall a lot.
This Pub/ Hotel was recommended to us, so we booked it on-line with no hassle.
We were shown straight to a Table and drinks order taken.
It was Steak Night so we ordered 2 Steaks although there were lots of other options.
The Steaks came cooked as requested Hot as well.
Plenty of Deserts available we selected and came quite quick.
Bill was a lot cheaper than we expected.
Great Eatery, fully recommended
This restaurant never fails to impress the, the ambience is always lovely, the food last night was incredible, I had the Vegetarian curry which was amazing, such a depth of flavour!
I booked a table for 5.30 pm on the 15th/08/21 I did so because it’s my wife & I’s 5th wedding anniversary I booked because I had eaten at your restaurant several years ago & enjoyed a great variety in the menu & excellently cooked food.
When I saw the menu that we were presented with at our table I immediately realised that this was no better than we could have found in dozens of “plastic pubs” across the U.K. & the waitress could not tell us the difference between a sirloin & a rump steak things were not looking good ...she also left our table without pouring the bottle of Prosecco we had ordered, I immediately felt that this was not the sign the quality restaurant I had visited before.
When our food arrived the steak was tough & the sauce was cold & the only option of vegetables was broccoli & that was it ... in short we were so upset with the bad quality of food & service that we cancelled our meal & left... I send this e-mail not to be one if those people that moans about everything but to let you how upset we were on what was supposed to be a special evening for us ... so much so that I will simply not bother ever booking a meal at your restaurant again.
Mr & Mrs S.Kilby
We book at the last minute on the way home from Truro.
Food, service, staff excellent, couldn’t fault it.
Will definitely be back A+
Great restaurant lovely food and fab customer service.
Took my 92 year young father for a quiet lunch and it was perfect
He had fish and chips and I had the salmon
Great food. Attentive staff. We will defintely book again.
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent price!!! One of the best places to eat in Cornwall by far!! Would highly recommend
First of all the food was amazing, lovely quality and would recommend the food.
We however felt the service was fairly poor, we arrived for our booking at 11am and was asked if we wanted lunch or breakfast. We though being 11am it would have only been breakfast but since offered we decided to go for lunch. We were then told lunch can't be ordered until 12 and no menus were printed yet to look at before being left with a drinks menu. A hour before ordering was too long to wait with a child so asked if we could have breakfast instead and was told "the breakfast has finished now and the kitchen is being cleaned down". The kitchen kindly did us breakfast but it felt like a big problem which confused us as 5 minutes before we were offered breakfast (however some walk ins came in at 11:30 and ordered breakfast with no issues). Our order was incorrect and when breakfast did come out correctly we were missing toast on one of the portions which became a problem when asking for it.
As I said the food was amazing but unsure if we would visit again due to being made to feel like an inconvenience which is a shame as we had heard such amazing things and had saved coming for my husbands birthday.
The ambience and food were lovely. Great environment too. Sadly service was a little slow but we understand that is prevalent within the sector given Covid and staff constraints!
We really did have a lovely evening though there was one man in the bar area who got increasingly louder as the night wore on and who spoilt the ambience.
But if we were back in the locality we would still go again.
Thank you for a nice evening. 😊
A good evening as usual. All the food was great! Ham, egg and chips very filling but very tasty with lots of tasty pickles and slaw, the egg was actually a scotch egg with a runny yolk! Also Malaysian chicken for my wife who said it was lovely, as well as a brownie for pudding! We were in the conservatory and it was full and noisy. Service was good if a little slow, 45 minute from sitting down to food on the table. But who knows what the kitchen was having to cope with, Covid restrictions and a full restaurant to boot. Would definitely recommend.
We had a nice evening meal at the Plume of Feathers. The food was really good unfortunately the service was quite slow. This maybe due to staffing levels due to C19??
I only wish we had a pub like this close to where we live as it's a really nice place
We will go back again next time we are down in Newquay, especially as we could top-up our Tesla!
It was all pleasant but not amazing. Wrong order delivered (a sandwich rather than the salad that was ordered) but quickly rectified.
Fries in the mug weren’t particularly good value - approx. 10p per chip.
Overall, it didn’t seem overly busy yet I noticed all 6 tables in the conservatory were all waiting at the same time to have their plates cleared despite finishing eating awhile ago. The waiting staff seemed to have disappeared.
I would think maximising the spend per table is important but taking ages to clear main courses kind of puts people off ordering deserts and coffees.
Waiting staff were polite, food was nice but would we regularly go back, possibly not.
Lovely food in nice atmosphere - worth a visit if nearby
The service was fine and our waitress was lovely. We feel that the menu should change, as it has been the same for a long time. There were no specials, so really not enough choice.
Not a good experience, very unorganised, could of been a lot better, needs reviewing and look at the value for money on the size of potions, burger not very nice
Everything was perfect as usual ..
I will be back again ASAP !
We have been staying in Newquay on holiday for the last few days and we booked here for lunch with our 18 month old son. We sat in the conservatory which was very clean and bright. The young waitress was so polite and pleasant. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Our son didn’t like his meal but nothing was too much trouble for the waitress who brought some bread out. We loved our starter and main. The food was tasty and large servings. Plenty of parking. Would recommend
