Overall good, just not Great. service ok, but could have been more attentive, Food quality good, but I’ve had better. I would definitely come here again, just nothing exceptional. Choices of the menu was good, ie unique different options was good.
We enjoyed a 6-person lunch very much! The food was delicious and the wait staff was accommodating to special orders. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and light. Love the art on the walls, too.
The menu is limited, but the food was good. Service is slow or not observant at all.
Really good food. And great menu too. They could spiff up the decor, but who cares when you're eating perfectly poached salmon and then a tiramisu? Love it.
We took my Dad to Plaza Bistro for an early Father’s Day brunch celebration. We were seated immediately at the window table- very nice! The server was attentive and helpful. I had the gnocchi- OMG! It was amazing! My husband had the French toast with fresh berries- it was wonderful, and my Dad had the Italian Grinder sandwich. My Dad is a picky eater who has to have things just right- he devoured his sandwich in no time flat! We always enjoy coming here. The food and the service is fantastic.
Our favorite place to escape to a gentile atmosphere and dine like we’re on a vacation
The food and service were good.
Everyone was very professional and pleasant. Enjoyed the days special- salad w/grilled salmon.
What a gem! Enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.
We would gladly recommend The Plaza Bistro to friends. The food has greatly improved since the last time we ate there which was some time ago. Glad we tried it again.
This restaurant has decent food but i was disappointed in the wine list. For their location, they should have had a lot more selection, especially in the 'by the glass" category.
Would definitely recommend Plaza Bistro for brunch. They take reservations, have great food, and fast/excellent service!
The Plaza Bistro was easy to get to and very warm and inviting.
There is something for everyone to enjoy.
The wine list was terrific and the wait staff were very attentive and nice.
I do not like to leave bad reviews, but this place was a bit of a let down. The food was okay, but inconsistent. The service was super slow and not existent at times. I say if you are not able to get in anywhere else, then this place will do.
We started off with the following:
The calamari was delicious
Beet salad was just okay
Mussels with french fries was just okay
We got two pastas for dinner, but they were bland. There was just 2 of us and we sat down at 7pm and did not get out of there until 9:00pm.
Too many good restaurants in the area to give this one a second chance. Pretty disappointed overall. Conveniently located in the Square and the food was done well, once we got it, but that's where it ends... they were out of the special at 7pm, 1 wrong item served, and missed 2 items entirely even after asking 3 separate people to check on the order. Appetizers were incredibly small portioned and barely enough to share; entree portions decent for the price. On a night when the restaurant was no where near full or busy, we had very poor service -- incredibly slow and nearly non-existent. I don't know if this was a one-off night, but bad enough to keep us from returning.
The Osso Buco was awesome!
Filet mignon was also cooked to perfection. Nice wine list, of course!
Had reservation for group 10 ... waiter failed to mention they were all out of filet mignon ... took to long to take out cocktails which were extremely disgusting ... I asked to speak to the manager about the service ... yet they expected full tip!
I eventually did speak to the manager who apologized and reimbursed half the tip...
Really poor service with ok food — what they had available
We enjoyed a weekend getaway to Sonoma with our adult children and had a very nice meal together. Thank you!
Being our first time dining at The Plaza Bistro, the food offered during Restaurant Week was delicious. It was a great experience overall, we will come back again.
I had the rack of lamb...it surpassed my expectations...couldn't even share it with our friends and hubby! Yummy!
Great food, good service. We really enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu.
Wonderful meal during Restaurant Week. Both of our entrees were delicious and the dessert was
Great service, fair prices, and a very nice restaurant
Amazing time with friends and new friends.
Great service, friendly wait staff. The tables right by the kitchen are distraction and noisy. I’d go back for sure, just request a seat somewhere else.
Th food was good. The menus is limited but right to the point.
This was our second time at Plaza Bistro, and, again, we enjoyed it very much. We have heard through friends that this restaurant has changed hands over the past few years, but we enjoyed it a lot last week, and again on this second visit. The weakest point is the service, not from lack of effort or attitude, because they want very much to please, but because they seem still to be getting their sea legs and predicting the patronage for the evening. This time, a group of 17 showed up without a reservation just prior to our arrival (we had a reservation), so our waiter was stretched, though very amiable. Our food was again wonderful, especially the calamari appetizer, and we enjoyed the atmosphere of this bar and bistro. We will happily return on our next trip to Sonoma.
This was our first time at Plaza Bistro and we are so glad we went! The food and drinks were excellent. We loved the sweet small dining room, and our waiter. The food came much faster than we expected (though they were not busy, so that may be the reason), so we would order drinks and food a bit more slowly next time, but it was delicious. The calamari is THE BEST!!!!! The pork scallopini was awesome, and so was the linguini with seafood and spicy sausage. We highly recommend this Italian Bistro!
On a rainy day had a very nice lunch with my sisters in law. Great table and yummy food
Our favorite in Sonoma. Good food choices. We like the brunch menu. Food is excellent and the service is attentive, always friendly. Good location on the town square with outdoor seating.
Food is low quality. This is a Sonoma restaurant and this quality is not acceptable. Pasta was over cooked.
Service is good. Location is convenient. Nothing looked fresh and tasty like other restaurants in Sonoma.
Great service. Salmon sandwich was delicious.
I love Plaza Bistro! It is always a stop we love to make when we are in Sonoma
Looking for an impromptu steak dinner close by brought us back to this wonderful restaurant. My husband loved his New York steak and I enjoyed the ham & bean soup with the crab cake starter. The wait staff was excellent, and we had a nice chat with the owner also. Plaza Bistro's bar is one of the most comfortable old-time bars in Sonoma.
Solidly good acceptable food, neighborhood joint.
Really enjoyed the Gnocchi, great location, being open on Christmas Eve was wonderful - great service!
The restaurant and bar were quite empty when we arrived about 7:30pm. We sat at a table in the window in the bar because there was no one seated in the dining room. It was quite cold and we asked the waiter to turn the heat up which he did, but it was still cold. We wanted the Sweetbread appetizer which they said they were out of so we ordered the calamari which was just okay. The Caesar salads were good. One of us ordered the Seafood Linguini and two of us the Osso Buco. The Linguini was just mediocre but the Osso Buco was so amazing the we ordered another to replace the Linguini. The Server offered to take the Linguini off the bill, but we said no we would still pay for it. The Server was not really attentive, and again we were the only table seated. The reasonably priced Cabernet the Server suggested was very good and we were enjoying ourselves, had paid the bill and were just finishing our wine. That's when it got very strange. Without explanation, the Bartender came over to the light switch by our table and turned the lights in the restaurant off, while we are still seated finishing our wine. When my husband asked if they were closing, she very rudely stated the restaurant closed at 9:00 basically telling us we needed to leave. Then one couple exited the restaurant and the Bartender openly flipped them off. My daughter observed this and called out the Bartender for her behavior. Her mocking response was, it was just as joke. Her behavior toward us was rude and aggressive. Very inappropriate. There was still one couple seated at the bar. So, despite the amazing Osso Buco, as long as that woman is employed there, we will never go back.
Seating is a bit tight indoors and it’s dark. However, with the rainy night it felt warm and cozy. Food was delicious and service was quick and friendly. I’ve had lunch outdoors here a few times and it’s always good.
Great service and outstanding cuisine. We booked for a group of 8 and must mention our wait staff, Yvonne. She was gracious, friendly and very attentive to us. Thank you Yvonne.
The food came out perfectly, we highly recommend their steaks.
Turkey was dry and tasteless! Only the dessert were good
