We were referred by friends to The Plantation House. We were not disappointed at all. Our first trip to Maui and when we return will enjoy this special place again.

Sometimes the best value is the premium product. The Plantation House is a spectacular restaurant with an ever greater view. It sits on the top of a hill beyond the first tee at the Kapalua course played by the pros. Sunsets are spectacular with the ocean in the distance but not too far. Though not cheap it really represented a great value. Similar in cost to the tourist chains along the beach but far superior in every way. I had the filet and my wife had the lamb chops . Both cooked to order and served with gourmet sides.

Also we returned for breakfast the next day and again were pleased be sure to try the banana bread.

The service was fantastic. We had the best view on Maui. It was gorgeous during sunset. Our food was great. We both ordered the Mongchong with risotto. It was fantastic. The truffle fries were tasty and the whole family enjoyed them. And the triple chocolate cake was great. I highly recommend the restuarant!

I’m what I consider a regular guy. I’m not wealthy, I tip normal (15-20%), I don’t opt for fancy amenities like valet parking when I have a choice, this this place was very fancy for what I’m used to. Definitely one of those “once every few years” type places. Meal for 3 came to a little over $200. The ambiance was nice. The food selection was not huge, but enough that I had plenty of options. Wait staff was attentive but not overly to the point they seemed annoying. I had a tasty fish and risotto dish that I really enjoyed. Portion size was good, not so small that I felt like I still needed more. I would recommend this place if you are willing the spend the money and would like to feel special.

We sat back in the bar area for dinner and it was a nice and quiet environment. We always enjoy coming to the Plantation for dinner.

Due to inclement weather, our reservation at another restaurant was essentially cancelled. We scrambled and booked a backup reservation at the Plantation House for 8pm dinner. The hostess was amazing and did everything to welcome us and we had a great dinner. We didn’t realize that so much on the menu was farm to table. That was a primary choice for us in selecting the other restaurant and a bonus at plantation house. Thanks for making our family vacation capstone dinner so awesome!

We dined here after sunset so we missed the beautiful view. It was probably our best meal while in Maui but still was not spot on. The short ribs were our least favorite. The pork chop was the most liked. It was late and the restaurant was not crowded but time after time we find we get the slowest service when restaurants are not busy. Plantation was no exception. The valet was nowhere to be found at drop off or pick up, the kitchen was slow to churn out our food, our server was very nice but not so attentive. Overall a great experience and we would recommend to friends visiting this side of the island but at sunset for best view and service.

Enjoyed the Sunset Dinner special at sunset time. Food was delicious, our server was very friendly and attentive and the view doesn't get any better of the ocean and sunset. Whenever we visit Maui we always make sure to visit the 5 Palms for dinner.

We were there for Easter brunch.
Sadly the food was nothing great- good, but nothing to get too excited about.

Pricey restaurant, the food was just okay, we waited a long for our food to be served. The service could have been better. The only positive about this place is the amazing view.

The Plantation House was a disappointment--there are far better places to go on the island than this restaurant. The waiter was hot and cold, the food was so-so and certainly not worth the price and it generally didn't live up to our expectations. Do yourself a favor and go to Momma's Fish House instead!

Excellent preparation and presentation. I had fish my wife hade the fillet mignon, it was the the best fillet she has ever had in Hawaii. The Monchong was fresh caught and excellent. Server was excellent also great view from our window seats of the sunset across the course.

The food was delicious, but the server delivered the wrong wine, overcharged us for drinks and didn’t acknowledge my husband’s birthday (which I noted when I scheduled the reservation weeks in advance and when I checked in to the restaurant). Underwhelmed by the service.

Some of the most breathtaking views you will find in Maui while dining. But food was mediocre and didn’t match up to all the hype. It wasn’t bad, just not up to par with the location and views this restaurant provides. Still recommend going though, and be sure to request a table next to the window/railing for optimal views.

The location and view is very beautiful.

The food was mediocre. Service was less than that. One of our four dishes was excellent and the “special” surf and turf and my fish were both well presented but poorly prepared.

My wife had to send her food back as it was not how she had ordered her steak. She ended up dining alone as her food arrived after we had finished.

Our Waiter did not care at all. Not even a half hearted apology was offered to offset the poor experience and follow through on a simple order.

I was disappointed as it fell well short of our expectations for a higher end restaurant.

Lots of places to dine in this end of Maui and we will continue to try other places instead of returning to the Plantation House.

Reviews are amazing and the food is usually quite enjoyable. The service is declined overtime but if you dine at peak hours you're bound to eventually get an experienced server. I've had amazing dining experiences here and ones that made me question whether I would return or not, but we always seem to stop by for at least a lunch when we we're on Maui.
