The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Parking on site.

Been to Pirate House several times and our current visit was very good. Tom was very attentive and made good recommendations in reference to alternative side dishes. Food came out timely and very tasty. I would recommend the Crab Cake w/broiled shrimp. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

The restaurant was quiet, so we enjoyed that part of it. We shared a salad, which was smaller than I thought it should be. The seafood platter was also not large. Shrimp and fish were good but muscles were not good at all. This is definitely a three star all the way and not somewhere I would go again.

Our waiter Bob was amazing however the food was average at best & the prices did not reflect the quality of the food. Very disappointing dinner, filet was very fatty…salmon over cooked, soup cold.

Very disappointed! We got the fried chicken we ordered in less than 5 minutes- before my glass of wine. The chicken was just warm, not hot. The crust was soggy from the sauce. We both agreed the food was precooked and sitting under a warmer. The waiter gave us steak knives for the chicken and broccolini (which was severely undercooked). Waiter never asked how our meals were. Would not go back.

The Pirate’s House exceeded expectations. I was wary of the tourist hype but all the seafood at our table was expertly cooked. The fried fish, shrimp, and oysters were perfectly breaded and cooked to the right point. Seared tilapia with lump crab was superb. But the real shocker was the vegetables. I was expecting the usual mushy overcooked sides that are typical. Mine were fresh and cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. Our server was on point, fun, and made good suggestions.

Our first night in Savannah, we had a lovely meal in a quiet room , very charming! Though parts of the restaurant were a bit touristy we were in a cute very colonial room. Our server was friendly and helpful with menu suggestions.

The lunch buffet was outstanding! There was a wide variety of southern foods, both entrees and side dishes. Dessert is included with the buffet. My son ordered shrimp and grits from the menu and said it was some of the best he's had. Excellent service.

The portions were large for the honey pecan fried chicken, really enough for two people. The sweet mashed potato’s were good. Fingerling potatoes were good. The house salad was great with the blue cheese dressing. Our server was the best. We enjoyed it.

Nice people including our waiter Tom who explained the history of the home regarding pirates etc. Good food but the portions are way too large to eat. Interior is interesting and fits the name. If I were them I would cut back on the portions so food is not wasted but it is a fun place to eat.

Service was excellent! Fried green tomatoes were small, too heavy with sauce and pimento cheese. The calamari came with marinara sauce (nope) but the texture and flavor of the calamari was good. The fried chicken had good flavor but was a little dry. And for the price, I expected a better cooked chicken. Biscuits were very good though

What a fabulous place to eat! Not only was the food spectacular, but the staff was amazing! From the hostess who found us seats two hours before our reservation and were beyond kind about it, to our waitress Aida who was delightful (and had fantastic eye makeup)! The food was delicious and I cannot recommend this place enough! Oh and the atmosphere was super fun and the word search on the back of the placemat was super fun to go head to head with my husband on.

Not a diabetic friendly restaurant per say. Their burgers are only served at lunch, so be aware they have different menus for lunch Vs dinner. The kids loved it. They wore their pirate hats proudly and said the food was yummy :) . A lil pricey for our taste, but it was a very cool house/restaurant to be in.

I had heard the Pirates’ House hosts a great Thanksgiving every year, and this year I decided to take my parents there for our Thanksgiving dinner. I didn’t know ahead of time whether it was a set menu, special menu, or buffet, and I did not see details on the website or social media before going. I was expecting it to cost more than a meal on a typical day, but I didn’t realize it was $55 per person, which was a bit pricier than I felt the food was truly worth and certainly pricier than we were expecting. I wish we had known that beforehand. Please be more upfront about the details online next year. I would have preferred to take my family, as I have done each year I’ve lived here, to a local favorite establishment that has comparable food with prices that would allow us to tip more generously to our server working on the holiday. I’ve enjoyed the times I’ve eaten at The Pirates’ House previously and enjoyed their good food at reasonable prices, but I would not recommend the Thanksgiving meal to my friends after our experience.

We enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet although there were a few negatives. Overall the food was good. I can't say it was exceptional as there were a few items that were not that good (the dressing was bland and the pumpkin pie tasted a little old.) Also I guess it's difficult to keep the food piping hot on a buffet, which could explain why some of the food items were luke warm. Our waitress was excellent. We were a party of 5 and would have appreciated a table as opposed to a booth. The booths are better suited for 4. If you are going to sit 5 or 6 people in a booth they should be in the average to lower weight range! In regards to value - I think for $56 per person your drink should be included. I would rate the overall experience as good in spite of the aforementioned comments.

The meal we had at the Pirate's House was the worst we'd had during our 10 day trip to Atlanta and Savannah. All of the food we ordered was either extremely salty or completely bland. Our server was thoughtful and attentive but it was her first night on the job and she'd been told that she would be supported by another more experienced employee but she was left to fend for herself on a super busy night. Two twenty something dollar subpar dishes and a mocktail later we were left with an $80 bill after tax and tip. For a meal at that price point I would expect nothing less than delicious, but we were not impressed. Talking to locals around town revealed similar opinions and experiences. I did appreciate the historical significance of the building, the informational materials given to us at our table during service, and the effort put forth by our brand new server, but for the amount of money we paid for how bad of a meal we got, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
