The Pirates' House
Our party of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids) had an amazing time at The Pirate’s House. We got the buffet, which was delicious and an amazing deal at $15/adult. 2 members of our party ordered off the menu and the portions are large and the food was fantastic. Our server was amazing and attentive, and even brought the adults at our table some of the children’s menus that turn into pirates hats. After our meal, we took the tour through the restaurant. The lady who did the tour was amazing and very informative. We enjoyed this experience so much! This is one of the highlights of our trip to Savannah!
She crab soup... AMAZING!!!
Our lunch was delicious and we had a great time, the room we were in was a little steamy but it cooled down while we were there. Lots of fun!
Food was great! Pecan fried chicken was to die for. The free pirate tour After our dinner was very entertaining! Fun evening!
Overall conveniant with easy parking right next to the restaurant. Our server did a very good job and was accomodating. Food was average at best . Four out of our party of five ordered the pecan chicken. It is fiull of bones and was a bit overdone. Would not recommend this to anyone.
A must when you visit Charleston - great fried chicken and fried green tomatoes - will plan to visit again on our next trip.
We made a reservation and we were seated right away and the food was wonderful. Had a great experience and service
Our experience was wonderful. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was quiet and enchanting. The food was delicious and the servings were large and at perfect temperature. We were in Savannah for our 27th anniversary and were given a very tasty dessert to help us celebrate. The only complaint I have is the gift shop location. I'm disabled and must use a cane to walk. The gift shop was at the top of a narrow staircase and it was awkward trying to maneuver the narrow spiral steps. Otherwise it was an amazing experience and if we do visit Savannah again, we will definitely eat here again.
Ron and I decided to end our vacation at the Pirate's House. They brought out Biscuits and Cornbread with Orange Marmalade and Butter which was really good. Ron ordered the Honey Pecan Chicken with Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Sauteed Vegetables which he said was delicious. I ordered the Crab Augratin which was also good just a little to rich. They celebrated our anniversary with a complimentary dessert. We would definitely return.
The pecan fried chicken lived up to its reputation. The she crab soup was Devine. Make sure you get a pirate tour.
Delicious food! Ate in the Herb House, which was awesome
We came here during vacation and it was fantastic. Food was great, the pirate giving tours was a great addition, and my kids went crazy in the gift shop. We will definitely come here again.
I made a reservation at the Pirates' House for two reasons. The historical significance and the skull mug with a fancy drink. I know it sounds a bit silly but that's what I was looking for. A bit of whimsy on my business trip. The building is amazing especially if you do a bit of research first. I was disappointed at quality of food for the price. I spent as much at the Pirates' House as I would have if I had gone to the Pink House. They also ran out of the souvenir skull mug. I'm not sure how that happened. Being a business owner myself if I have something like that available to my customers I make sure to always have enough. Now I know giving a poor review because of a lack of skull mug is a bit ridiculous, however I went to the Pirates' House for a bit of fun and I left feeling like I had just been ripped off. Coincidentally that's what Pirates were infamous for so at least I had an authentic experience. If your looking for a TGIF in a historical building you have found your place.
Such a fun idea! Food was very good. Fair pricing. Service was ok. They have a gift shop upstairs and that was nice.
The food was excellent. Service was just ok. There was a lot of traffic coming through because of the tours they give and I was not too happy about that.
The Pirate House is one of our favorite dining spots in Savannah, and we’ve yet to have a a disappointing experience. Our server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the food, as always, outstanding!
One “anomaly” (if I can call it that ) occurred when I ordered a glass of wine before dinner and was requested to show my driver’s license! What? With my full head of silver-grey hair, and my husband’s former Marine, military style cut, I would have thought it obvious we were a couple of senior citizens.
Nevertheless, I provided the requested license, and the entire experience gave my husband ample fuel for humor!
Looking forward to our next visit - and yes —- I’ll remember to carry my driver’s license!!!
I was expecting better. Our server was very nice but he totally forgot our appetizer. Not a biggie but indicative of our experience. At least we weren’t charged for it. Food was just okay and we were seated in a very odd room. Dark and away from everyone else. I really wanted to like this place but I so didn’t. Bummed it wasn’t better.
Really fun with kids
Good food and pricing for quality and portion size. The adult beverage seemed quite weak if there was any alcohol. The ambiance was nice, but the place can become loud with larger, and inebriated, parties. Its connected to the Herb House, the oldest existing house in Georgia which added to the experience. We chose to do the quick 20 minute tour afterwards which gave some nice historical background and the guide was entertaining. Overall goog experience.
Lots of character, good location. It was good for a family with children.
Appetizers and Entrées were excellent. Sides were underwhelming. Service was acceptable but again I was expecting a little more excitement.
While I do recommend stopping in, I'd go for drinks versus having lunch/dinner again. I wasn't really impressed with the menu or the prices. Hamburgers should never cost more $6 at the most, not double that. My husband had the Shrimp Alfredo dish and liked it very much. I settled for the salad, I should have ordered the burger since they were both in the same price range. But the building itself is beyond belief. So I guess that is eventually what you are paying for.
I would but not the Buffett, food very low and very messy. Waiter rude at first then got nicer.
This was a very enjoyable southern style lunch after a day of touring around in Historic Downtown Savannah.
Excellent shrimp and grits. Very fun atmosphere. Overall, nice fining dining experience.
We loved the service (Tristan!!) and the food was delicious! We love upscale dining for dinner, so Pirate’s House for lunch was a perfect choice for us! Although I’m not a fan of buffets, it was the only way to get fried chicken at lunch, so what was I to do?? I ended up getting the fried chicken I craved PLUS fried okra! Win/Win!!
A very, efficient server. Excellent food!!!!
Had a special occasion dinner. Restaurant was very, helpful with nice cake.
Great service and great food one of the best food experiences that we’ve had in a long time
Excellent meal and better service! We had Aly as our server and she made our night!!! Also had Elizabeth as our pirate guide after our dinner. Everything was excellent.
Thank you, we had a wonderful time.
Weekend trip to Savannah. Love this restaurant, food is great. Wish I lived closer so i could get here more often.
I was disappointed in the overall experience. Not a place I would go to again when I visit the next time.
If your in the area and want a great meal, at a good price, in a nice clean and friendly place, This is it.
Had the best lunch on our vacation- fried green tomatoes bl- soooo good!
Well, the history of the restaurant was great to hear.
However, I felt our waiter was a bit too chatty.
He asked us where we were from & somehow it made it appear as though he too has been there. A family member or when he was a child.
Would have been believable; but a few tables from us he had learned that they were living in his house in California - a bit of a stretch, so we thought.
Anyways, food was okay. Service nice but at times a bit too much chatter.
Go, the kids will enjoy as the staff tells pretty good pirate jokes - Arrrrr ! 😃
Amber was an amazing waitress! She was so friendly and courteous! Excellent customer service. Food was so good!
It was very fun eating at the Pirates House. We ate in the Herb House room which was enjoyable because it is the oldest section of the house. It also had a cool little garden we looked out into. We ate the buffet at lunch. The food was good and lots of it. The key lime pie for dessert was delicious. They gave us a 15 minute tour of the restaurant when we finished eating which was fun and historic.
Asked for quiet table had reservation. But was seated right out in the middle of restaurant. The food was terrible. Ordered the pecan chicken not fried well pecans and honey just poured on top other side items were slapped on plate and the whole plate looked like a mess with honey and pecans. Prices were high and tourist trap. Will not go again nor recommend to others
Awesome experience for the whole family. We highly recommend the tour as well. Dont forget the shop on the top floor. They have all kinds of interesting things.
