The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Parking on site.

Fun place! Great for kids and adults. Our server was knowledgeable and efficient, telling stories of antics at the restaurant. Our party of 8 sat in a small room that was once a horse stable. Perfect for having 2 children under 7 with us. Food was wonderful. We enjoyed fried green tomatoes, corn cakes with blackened shrimp, fried chicken, pistachio crusted trout, shrimp and grits and the fried fish platter. Plus corn muffins and delicious biscuits were served with butter and orange marmalade. No one had room for dessert!

Food was good and layout kinda interesting. They had a large gift shop upstairs. We ate in Anne Bonny room that was like any other restaurant. It was okay but the ambience of the Olde Pink House was better. It felt like you were in a house from the 1700s.

Servers clearly did not want to be there. Food below average. Did not ask for beverage refresh. All other Savannah restaurants were great - especially hospitality. It has such great history and with the right food and service, would have been great. My drink was so weak, it tasted like a mocktail (plus I upgraded alcohol). Do not order crab cake or melt.

We arrived a couple of minutes prior to our reservation at 6:00. We were seated immediately. Our server was great. He had a wonderful personality. The appetizers, drinks and food was great. Very tasty and appealing to the eye as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to good experience.

NOT what we were told by a friend to expect. The waiter could not remember drink orders or his promise to bring bread. The food was NOT prepared properly; the crab cakes were tepid; the chicken was over cooked. This restaurant should be considered a bus stop. We would NOT recommend this restaurant.

Server was extremely rude and could not be bothered. We ate here in November and it was great. But food was cold and portions were small. Steak was not done right but waitress never even checked on us. She was “just too busy” her words, not mine. Very disappointing and expensive for what was received. Will not be back and will not recommend. Treated like cattle.

The service was great and a little goofy as you would hope for at a former Pirate’s hangout. Loved the ambience and the fun vibe. My wife had the house’s Fried Chicken with Pecan glaze. It was as delicious as advertised. I had the salmon, which was OK, but was dry and not as fresh as I would have expected. Next time, I would get the chicken.

Great service. Skull Crusher cocktail was terrific…and I’m usually not a big fan of rum. Commemorative snifter was very nice. Not-so-good…. had Crab Cake and Jumbo Shrimp entree. Tasty but crab cake was nearly cold. Shrimp ok. Mash potatoes and vegetables were flavorless. My wife had Scottish Salmon. Salmon and peach sauce were excellent. Sweet potatoes and broccoli were bland.

Historic setting offered value but not the heavily breaded fried food. I wish zi could have actually tasted the soft shell crab that was meaty but only tasted like fried coating.

Pirates house had been recommended by a friend as a "cool" place to go and I had seen several travel you tubes about it. It was fun but the food was average and pricey for what you got. My favorite thing was the Bloody Mary. It was delicious! We tried the fried green tomatoes which were good but a little bland. I had the jumbo crab cake and broiled shrimp. The crab cake was bland and more bready than I prefer. the shrimp were tasty but over-cooked. Our server, Susie was great, very friendly and attentive.

This was my “must-do” restaurant for Savannah. We are in our late 50s and were seated in a room with a couple families with young children. It would be nice if restaurants seat these groups separately if possible. The noise and running around from one of the families was disruptive and unpleasant. Our server was wonderful - I don’t remember his name unfortunately. As a lover of fried chicken I ordered the “award-winning fried chicken with honey pecan glaze”. This was a half chicken (4 pieces - too much!) but it was drenched in the honey sauce - sitting in a pool of it - and there must have been more than a half cup of chopped pecans plopped on top. It was just unappetizing. A light drizzle of sauce and a true “sprinkle” of pecans would be good but this just was not. The vegetables were delicious, however. I also had the raspberry mojito. It was so sickeningly sweet I could only get half of it down. Definitely would not recommend that cocktail. My husband ordered the catch of the day, which was trout with a tomato jam glaze. He said it was just okay and would not order it again. I’m disappointed because I was so looking forward to going there, but I guess we just ordered the wrong things. We were just wanting to leave because of the one family so we didn’t even go to the gift shop or look around. I would try them again on a other trip to Savannah to try different dishes.

I often worry that “novelty” restaurants like this one are more concerned with ambiance over quality- not this one! The food here is the real star. The pirate theme and the history of the building just adds to the experience. The drinks at the bar are also top notch. Definitely get a reservation as we were seated immediately while the room was full of people who did not have a reservation. I also highly recommend taking the “tour” of the building with Caroline! She was fun and informative! We also appreciated the free parking!

Pirates House has a great history and is a lot of fun for kids. Unfortunately the quality of the food is not good. My son’s kids meal came out cold. The staff nicely said they’d correct that but then it came back 2 minutes later. Thinking they had to microwave it to get it back so quick. The kids burgers were charred. The adult meals were ok, not worth the money but I guess you pay for the experience.

Food was good overall an enjoyable experience, but only time available was 3:15 so we prepared for an early dinner just to find out dinner menu was not available until 4. The server did offer to allow us to wait till then but we decided to just eat off lunch menu. Was good just wish was more clear when booking.
