The Pirates' House

The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Enthusiastically recommended by AAA, Food & Wine and Redbook.

Excellent cocktails and food. Tom was so helpful. The peach cobbler a la mode is delicious. What a fantastic historical building and the stories that go with it

The Pirates House is our Favorite Restaurant in Savannah! This year, the menu had changed. I wasn’t thrilled with the new selections- still a great experience.

Food was good but not as good as other times I’ve been there.
The restaurant was cooler than was comfortable. Parking was excellent and didn’t have to pay extra

Historic setting with great stories from Terry ...Mango chili Glazed Salmon was excellent ... A bit dark, but that kinda adds to the ambiance!

We went for Sunday buffet with our 2 kids and we loved it! I live in GA and the Southern specialties were authentic and delicious. AMAZING biscuits and fried chicken. Of course the buildings are awesome. We dined in the oldest part....so cool!

This historic restaurant is great, the dinners are awesome. The history of the restaurant is fascinating and highly recommend looking it up before you go there. This isn't a Disney reproduction, this a real establishment where Pirates frequented. Rum was flowing from barrels here. Try out the Dark and Stormy Drink! Rum based of course.

We were a party of 6. the food was in my opinion, average and bland. I think I'm the only one in my group that felt that way. I had shrimp poboy. The fries were excellent and the service was pretty good. There was a buffet that looked and smelled phenomenal but we just ordered from the menu. I visit Savannah often and I will go back to The Pirate House for sure. The history around you is worth it if nothing else.

For my husband’s birthday I surprised him with a lunch here. Ami and Josh made sure it went off without a hitch. The food was delicious as usual. We ordered the buffet which required you to wear your mask and gloves when getting your food. There was also ample distance between our table and the next. Definitely love when we can come here for the buffet because it is by hands down the best buffet in town and the value is great.

While our food was good, the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. Was not our best meal in Savannah.

The food was average. Based on how quick the food came out it is precooked ans reheated which you can tell. The fried chicken with pecan sauce over sweet. The green beans were cold. The history of the place is interesting thats about it.

Food was good. Ambiance in the historic building was really cool! Service was really good and the food came out really fast. Which was great cause we had three young children with us. Overall I would highly recommend this historical landmark.

Good service and great food. Quick service but not rushed. Fair prices like other restaurants we visited in the area. Nice easy listening music in the background and not the usual loud music you hear in most restaurants there days.

For being an establishment based on a historical perspective, they really didn't show it. Food was really good and our waitress was great.

My wife and I ate here for lunch on our first trip to Savannah. The restaurant itself was pretty cool. The food was absolutely delicious! My wife ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer, and was thoroughly impressed with the presentation as well as the mouth water bursts of flavor in every bite!!! I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich, and it was quite delectable as well. Highly recommend to any and all visitors to the Savannah area!!!

Came here for lunch a Saturday on our honeymoon. Amazing fried green tomatoes!!!! Pretty cool place but wanted to see more of the restaurant and the historic place and only heard about the tour when we had already eaten and didn’t get any further info about it. We were also not made aware of the lunch buffet by our hostess or server but heard about it from the servers going around yelling about last call. Maybe would’ve liked to check the buffet out if we would’ve known. Our server was friendly and prompt but not overly friendly (something I really appreciate as I wanted to spend time talking to my husband). I’d been here about 12 years ago and had a more fun-filled experience but I’ll give them a bit of a pass on the atmosphere end enthusiasm as COVID had put a bit of a damper on some of these experiences. Would definitely recommend for lunch but prices for dinner seemed a bit much for what it is. Overall a good lunch experience. Definitely recommend.

They have the best she crab soup anywhere and the fried chicken is amazing. The service the night we visited wasn't great. Had to ask for things more then once and dessert was wrong and never got the coffee we ordered.
