The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Enthusiastically recommended by AAA, Food & Wine and Redbook.

Visiting Savannah for the first time, restaurant was a lot of history and fun. Enjoyed the She Crab Soup and Shrimp Athena. The biscuits and corn muffins were amazing. Very enjoyable!

Great food! We had a fantastic time, the prices are reasonable and the restaurant is very cool. You can tour it if you'd like, and get the full haunted "feel." Great gift shop, talking pirate upstairs could work on his jokes. ;)

Fun experience with good food. Loved the tour led by one of the in house Pirates...it was informative and entertaining. Would definitely eat there again next time I’m in the area.

it was a reunion for me. When my husband was in the army and flying out of Fort Stewart we ate there often. It was great 50 years ago and has not changed thanks for the memories.

Food and drinks were wonderful--Shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, fried shrimp, jambalaya. But the best was the crab cakes. The shrimp was plentiful on each entree. The Savannah tea was simply delicious and refreshing. I loved the ambiance and we enjoyed a "pirate tour" afterward. We love history and it was a pleasure to dine in this historic building and the fact that the food was great, was perfect. This restaurant was highly recommended by all the tours we went on, so we were thrilled that we already had reservations.

We were seated promptly as we had reservations. The server took a little longer than normal to greet us and take the drink orders. The food was decent. I ordered their signature dish and it was tasty.

We took visiting relatives to dinner at the Pirate House and enjoyed our visit immensely. We were seated in a front room which was the oldest part of the restaurant, a nice plus. Our waiter was quite knowledgeable about the food (perhaps a bit too loquacious, but his patter was enjoyable). The food was good if not gourmet, the portions generous and we appreciated that the kitchen split the salad which my wife and I shared and they graciously substituted sides on our visitors meals. A real treat was a free post dinner tour of the restaurant by a costumed docent who shared the history of the building from the 18th century to the present. He shared the documented history of the building and then shared some of the fictional legends. First time visitors should request a tour when they arrive.

The Pirate's House in Savannah was a great fine and experience. After being seated for dinner in a beautiful room, we were greeted by a Pirate which set the tone for the rest of the dinner and night. Service was great and the food unbelievably good . . . Mary had the Scampi and I the Grouper and both were excellent. After dinner the Pirate escorted us on a "ghost tour" of the Pirate's House and it was filled with great history and stories of the restaurant. We will definately going back on our next visit to Savannnah.

It was a good meal. We have eaten there at dinner before and prefer the meal (the honey pecan fried chicken) on the dinner menu. The chicken seemed to soak in more of the honey sauce when prepared for dinner. The food was good and there was a nice selection of options on the buffet. The price was good for the meal. We’ll go back for sure!

Our food was good, not “gourmet-great”, but the portions were huge, and with an appetizer and salad, there was no way to finish the dinner. The pace of the meal was rushed, with our appetizer being delivered after the salad, and then the dinner arriving before we had finished either early course. Our server was attentive and helpful, though. We would have enjoyed a little more time to enjoy the meal, especially as the restaurant was not full.

Quick stop in Savannah with the family and this was a great choice. Food is quick to come out and tastes good. Very family friendly and there is a quick tour you can take of the building after your meal is complete.

Someone inSavannah recommended the place for the pecan chicken. It was extremely unremarkable. Popeyes does better at a fraction of the price. I think it’s an old restaurant that has passed it’s expiration date.

Great historic spot! Food was pretty good. But fried chicken smothered with honey and nuts, too sweet and too rich! Sautéed spinach swimming in oil. Friend liked his tilapia though. Good service.

If you want to have a fun meal, and don't expect too much from the food, this is a great place. My husband enjoyed his crab cake and broiled shrimp. I had been told that the fried chicken was the best, so I ordered it. Very disappointing. No crispiness at all. Doused in way too much sweet pecan syrup for me. I very much enjoyed my Skull Crusher cocktail complete with complimentary skull mug! The upstairs gift shop is a lot of fun. A visit from the resident pirate completed our evening. Wish a tour of the building had been offered.
