The Pink Door is an independently owned (never cloned, never genetically modified) restaurant that has been quietly dedicated to fresh & local Italian food since 1981. Its seafood & produce driven menu has been the central theme throughout its wildly popular domain in Seattle's Pike Place Market.
Lasagna Pink Door
fresh spinach pasta layered with besciamella, pesto and topped with marinara sauce
Don & Joe's Italian sausage, radicchio, rosemary, aged balsamico
Linguine Alle Vongole
baby clams in their shell, pancetta, garlic, chilis and white wine
It was an amazing experience. However, thinking about the price you pay and the waitlist to get a reservation, it was a little bit disappointing. There was no privacy for us to talk because it was very loud, our table was extremely tiny, and right next to the other tables, we were almost touching the other customers on both sides. They didn’t have another table available to switch us. The food was amazing. The best steak ever, the appetizer was incredibly delicious, the drinks were made with great quality and flavor. The trapeze performance was BEAUTIFUL!
Underwhelming food. Restaurants is hardly an Italian restaurant.
Wow, we really enjoyed our dining experience here! There's a lot of hype around The Pink Door, and reservation availability is scarce, and for good reason. Here are a few:
The food: We asked our server about her favorite dishes, and everything hit the spot. We *cleaned our plates* (sauce and all!) of the arancini, garlic bread, parpadelle, and lasagna dishes. We indulged and got two desserts, the bourbon boudin (a sort of pudding) and ricotta doughnuts -- my favorite!
The entertainment & ambiance: We were originally sat in the back of the restaurant with a view of the Ferris wheel, it was lovely but we wanted a livelier vibe. We're grateful that the hostess was so accommodating of our request to sit in the main room. Luckily there was a table for 2 right in front of the live jazz band. We caught the last hour of their 3-hour set, and they were amazing. There's really nothing better than eating delicious food while listening to live music.
Service: From the hostess, to our server and the supporting staff, everyone was attentive and knowledgeable.
Scoring a reservation here is difficult, but so worth it! Highly recommend coming on a night when there's entertainment.
Excellent service and sumptuous food. Need to reserve 2 months ahead.
We came back within a week for the rive eye that’s perfectly delicious and better than anywhere I’ve had before. It’s 16 oz and big enough to share or take half home . I loved their Caesar salad as well as gnocchi and the lemon merengue pie was recommended as the top dessert choice so I enjoyed that as well as a hot cider whisky drink called caldo-caldo. We remembered our server from last week in a different section even though we weren’t seated to see the sunset over the bay this time we wanted to hear the band in the back lounge and we got great seats again! Thank you so much for getting us in with our ferry boat schedule challenges on a busy thanksgiving weekend!
Great food. Recommend to reserve a table in the room and on the days where they do acrobatics.
Great food and atmosphere. Good was perfectly portioned to leave comfortably full
Absolutely wonderful experience! Found this place several years ago while on visit to Seattle. When coming out to visit our son and daughter-in-law, we knew we had to bring them here. Did not disappoint! Wonderful!!
A Seattle institution with great food
For vegetarians the eggplant pasta was delicious and they Aldo make Perfect ribeye with parsnip yummy mash& veggies. The half portion antipasto plate was big for two of us! Will definitely come again as the view is amazing too! So lively to see the furry parade on the street below and the amazing pink sunset over the vast bay VIEW!
Great Service! Ordered an on menu drink with a personal twist and they loved it so much it's being considered for a future seasonal drink. Food is superb.
Amazing food! Great wine! Excellent service! The chicken breast was phenomenal.
First time here .
Came on recommendation.
Absolutely fantastic food , atmosphere and service
It feels like you are transported back in time to an old European circus themed restaurant.
It’s a MUST DO while in Seattle
Make reservation ASAP
Food was okay, it was nothing to write home about. Prices were expensive for the value of the food. Place was a little too chaotic probably because everyone in town was in the restaurant.
Food and service was amazing as usual! Server was knowledgeable about menu items and gave great suggestions. We will return!
We shared the arancini to start. They pack a spicy punch! The rigatoni and lasagna are al dente perfection with bright acid red sauces. The desserts are deceptively light tasting but I’m sure calorie laden. Try the apple cake or the luxurious busing. A great lively vibe.
Oysters were great and the ice/pepper shaving topping was top notch.
Local beer was very enjoyable.
Overall good but clam prep during our visit was done wrong which hurt food quality.
Went for my partners birthday and they gave us a table by the window with a beautiful view. The service was incredible, my water was never empty for more than a few minutes, and the server was very attentive. They even ensured that I was able to get meals that satisfied my rare dietary restrictions. Would highly recommend and I plan to go back!
The waitstaff are tremendous, attentive, engaging, knowledgeable. Love the painting of the owner’s former dog with the halo.
Delicious, ambient, fabulous! Just note that the entrance is unmarked and a light pink door in an alley that is easy to miss if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. Almost felt like a speakeasy entrance. But back to the point—yummmm, go!
Everything was perfect!
always the best of the best!!! we love the Pink Door
Beautiful, stylish and delicious in every way. One of my favorite spots in Seattle.
What a lovely evening! Great food, great service and such a lovely restaurant. Cannot wait to go back!
Loved the nice front dining room.
Great service and food. Clams and bread were our favorite.
Tried Pink Door for the first time and the Lasagna is a must order. Highly recommend and will come back just for that.
This restaurant was the highlight of our visit to Seattle!
we got there 30mn earlier to our reservation. Luckily we can sit at the bar getting a few drinks while waiting for our table to get ready. Love the vibe and the jazz! Totally gonna visit there again.
Incredible. They not only never disappoint, they ALWAYS deliver an exceptional experience. Very happy to see them back to full capacity. Every dish was so good...and the live music was perfect. Great mood, yet definitely in the background as it should be. They nailed it!
Dining before Paramount Performance. Waitress attentive but not too much so, relaxed and tasty meal. A bit noisy but not that much of an issue
Superb food, great service and wonderful views! Our new favorite restaurant.
The ambiance was very nice. Would recommend for a date night. Noise level is as moderate conversational. My friend ordered the chicken Caesar salad. It was extremely tangy and not as creamy as other Caesars I’ve had. The lasagna was amazing. Highly recommend it. Will return for the lasagna.
Excellent! Highly recommend
Food was great, good atmosphere, don’t order wine - the wine comes in cheap glasses.
The waitor was rude and made me feel uncomfortable- not worth the restaurant if the staff makes you feel uncomfortable. I would rather eat elsewhere just because of this.
We loved our dinner and experience! The trapeze artist was talented and entertaining. The ahi tuna was amazing! The beats appetizer was ok if anything wasn’t to our liking. Overall highly recommend to anybody and everybody!!
I think it is a joyful atmosphere with pleasant tasting food.
Consider yourself lucky if you get to eat here. I only knew if this place from a rec from a friend and I had no expectations. From the minute we opened the door, I was so entranced by the ambience and old World feel of the place. We ordered the salumi appetizer and the goat cheese/tomato spread was so delicious. We ordered the lasagna from the waiter’s recommendation and went with the whole fish (Brandini). The fish was beautifully presented but the pasta was so delicious that if we had to do it again, we would have ordered 2 other pasta dishes instead of the fish.
We had a window table, by luck, and it was neat to hear other languages at adjacent tables such as Korean and Russian and Hindi. It made the experience seem even more special. Such a treasure. Waiter was also attentive in refilling the bread bowl for my eight year old and accommodating a side of salami for her picky palate. Loved the whole experience. Best part of our quick Seattle weekend getaway.
Every time it’s always so good. Glad to be back
Great good and services
Our friends that were visiting wanted to try this restaurant because I always raved about it. They weren’t able to go to dinner anytime before 8pm so I checked for reservations and the only one was for 10pm. That is pretty late for dinner, but in my opinion would’ve been worth it because it was the Pink Door after all.
My friends arrived a few minutes before the reservation and my boyfriend and I arrived at 1002pm (we were driving in from 30 miles North). When we saw our friends at the table the first thing they said “our waitress is rude she told us last call for food is 10pm and was asking how late you were going to be”… hearing this I was a bit confused as to why they would allow a 10pm reservation and close the kitchen at 10pm.
Either way my boyfriend and I knew what we were going to order within the first couple of minutes after being seated. We kept seeing our waitress stop by every single table around us but never came to ask us what we wanted to order. She didn’t take our food order until about 10 minutes after we sat, no urgency on her part after her remarks to our friends.
When she would come to our table there was an air around her (very negative). When she grabbed a plate off our table she just pushed her way between myself and the window without even saying “Excuse Me” or anything (I didn’t even know she was there). I wanted more iced tea for my refill and she said “I don’t think we have anymore, I have to check”.. I understand it was the ending of the night but if I knew there was going to be a shortage I would’ve gladly ordered something else.
I thought that was the rudest service I’ve ever had at Pink Door. I don’t live close to there and try celebrate many special occasions with my friends there. I probably will not be back. I was very disappointed and embarrassed that I recommended a place with such rude, lacking service.
