The Pig Ratings and Reviews
We came for Valentine's dinner and we stated to the waiter, that we could not stay as there was really nothing on the menu that my partner could eat. It was a fixed menu for the night. She said she would talk to the cook about his allergies and see if they could come up with other items for him.
She came back with a great collection of selections for him and we stayed and had a great time with their help on the items.
Partner and I booked Sunday brunch, restaurant was busy but very friendly welcome and our server very helpful. We chose the Ultimate Pig Brunch - one starter one main and a desert or you can swap that for a bloody mary (Pig style) or a Mimosa. We chose the alcohol!. Our starter was the pork belly buns two small buns with a piece of pork belly inside, very hot and tasty. I had th Eggs Benedict - good sized portion and very good indeed partner had the pig slam breakfast a huge portion arrived served on a wooden platter so much that he could not finish it but again very good. We can see why this restaurant is popular the food that was passing us to other tables looked good too! Highly recommend
Great service--would definitely visit again, though it seems a bit expensive for what it is. The charcuterie board was delicious and dumplings had a good flavor. The BBQ sauce for the ribs was delicious, but the ribs were slightly dry, which may have either been due to braising or reheating. It's unfortunate, because they were very meaty.
Dinner was good. The food was delicious (a little rich, and too much, but delicious). We had the face bacon for a starter, and I had the Shank, the meat was so tender and delicious, I would definitely recommend again! The Brussel sprout side was perfect (again, a little large, three of us shared it with left overs remaining). I ended the meal with the s'mores sundae. It was different, good, but different. The texture of the marshmallow threw me, and the bananas were unexpected, but I think I'd have it again. The service was a tad slow, but we weren't in a hurry, and the time allowed to visit was nice.
I've been here before for happy hour, so I was excited to try their brunch. While everything was fine I wasn't blown away. The food was good, though I wouldn't recommend anything that deviates from bbq - omelet was blah and french toast was weird. No bottomless, but they do sell mimosas by the jug (too much orange juice not enough champagne).
TL;DR: Meh, Fine. Just stick to the bbq and ask for extra champagne in your mimosa.
This restaurant offers a tasty menu of outstanding choices! Unbelievably delicious and now ranks in my top 3 favorites restaurants in the DC area. The bartender was so nice and made me a hand-crafted drink that was excellent. They have a great selection of wines as well. I’ll be back in 3 weeks and can’t wait to eat here again!!!!!
We had a pretty big group (16) , but the folks at the Pig went above and beyond and made it pretty easy for our group. The food was amazing and their cocktails were both original and delicious. Everyone in our party had a great time and I’d recommend this palace to anyone wanting a casual dining experience or for getting a group together.
The Pig was amazing!! The food was phenomenal and that is coming from a picky eater. The service staff were also great and very friendly. Would definitely visit this restaurant again and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food.
I went with a group of friends to The Pig for DCRW, and it was AMAZING! We all loved the pork belly buns, and with a couple of orders you could make a meal of those on their own. I got the “braised venison osso buco” which was meaty and flavorful in a way I didn’t expect. The porchetta and miso cured bay back ribs were also winners. One of my friends ordered the seared local duck breast, which he said was tasty, but the portion of meat seemed pretty skimpy. I highly recommend The Pig for a fun night out, and definitely indulge in one of their punny cocktails!
The food and drinks were excellent. Unfortunately, our server was nowhere to be found once our food arrived. I waited over 30 minutes to order a second drink. In fact, the hostess and busboy were the only staff on the floor for quite some time. Other tables commented on the absence of their servers as well.
I was looking for a fun place to have dinner with a group of friends and The Pig was suggested. From the moment we were greeted at the door until the time we left, the experience was outstanding. Fantastic service! One of our party had a garlic allergy and the server did a wonderful job making sure he got something tasty. The pork belly buns were amazing as was the Shank. Two of my friends had the sausage platter and two others had the duck. Everyone was pleased. My only complaint was that with the meat and cheese board, the servings of meat was very generous while the cheese was skimpy. For $42, it was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, outstanding! I'll definitely be back.
We ordered the sausage sampler and the full rack of miso ribs with a side of roasted mushrooms. The sausage sampler came with a boudin noir sausage paired with apple jam and reduced onions, andouille sausage with pickles, and the frankfurter with brown mustard and pickled cauliflower. All three were great sausages on their own but the pairings weren't exactly balanced. The miso ribs were slightly under seasoned but was still a great rack of ribs regardless. The ribs easily pulled apart from the bones cleanly and contained a small smoke ring when cutting into the rack. The fries were also excellent; although they could have used more salt, they had a crunchy exterior and were well seasoned. The pickles and coleslaw may be a bit sour depending on each individual's taste but we're right up my alley. Surprisingly, the roasted mushrooms were the best part of the meal. The duck fat was an excellent way to offset the meaty taste of the mushrooms, the bread crumbs also was a great counter consistency to the mushrooms. Atmosphere and service were also great. Only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars was the under seasoning of the ribs. Overall, would definitely recommend to someone.
