For meals when you don't mind spiking your cholesterol, go to The Pig in Logan Circle.
A pleasant surprise from standard local restaurants, if your not a pig lover it’s not for you.
If you like pig based meals and you’re not too worried about your cholesterol, then the food here was fantastic. We had their specialty dishes and I had the cocktail taster-3 little pigs. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Excellent service and the food was fantastic! Hard for our party of 8 to decide what to eat. Our server was awesome in helping us out. Will definitely come back again
The food was very good, with options for those who aren't big meat eaters. And the servicers were very kind to help us accommodate our two year old. We will include it in our lunch restaurant rotation! Pleasant change of pace.
Our server Sarah was amazing. My husband and I were having dinner for my birthday and it was our first night out since having a baby in January. When we had to run out unexpectedly after we got our entrees (baby stuff of course) she had packed me a birthday dessert to go and got us the check so quickly. Sarah was super attentive and friendly and made me feel so special. We started with charcuterie, i had the shank and my husband had porchetta. Everything was awesome, I hope next time we don’t have to run out so quickly!!
Had a great time. Definitely a great place to go. I loved the food and the waitress did a great job.
I tried the special: Thai Pork Tenderloin Curry...not impressed. Numerous pieces were fatty and the presentation in a bowl was not the best vehicle; there was not too much curry flavor. Friends had the burger, but they were both dry and lacked flavor; the fries were over cooked and dry. On a better note, the pork belly apps were tasty and flavorful. The drinks are notable.
Veryy nice staff and the food was very good. Mac and cheese was wonderful.
Great food. The host was very polite, professional and welcoming. Sat at the bar for a while before dinner, bartenders were a little standoff-ish and it took the person I was with 20 minutes to get their first drink (not great service). Waiter was also somewhat rude... no introduction, and gave us an attitude when we asked for a few minutes before ordering... water was never refilled. It was clear he was doing the absolute bare minimum. Very underseving of the average tip that I left.
We were excited to dine here based on some of the reviews and pictures. Things started out well. We were seated at our reservation time, greeted by our server, and given water and menus. We ordered drinks and a charcuterie board. And we waited....... they finally delivered 3 of the 4 drinks. The last drink was delivered 5 minutes later. The charcuterie board was delivered by a food runner. We finished the board. The waiter Finally came back and took our regular order and then we waited for another 40 minutes with no drink refills and no sign of our server. By the time we received our food, everyone at the table was irritated. I watched the waiter by the window check in with his people every several minutes. I think ours went out somewhere else for dinner. The food was good, but it felt like they were “trying to hard”. Nothing was normal. There weren’t any comfortable choices for the kids. Had the service been good, I would probably have been willing to give this restaurant another chance. The service was terrible and the food was just ok (except the charcuterie board and cheese, which was excellent)
There are a couple other menu options for those who don't want pork. I liked the ambiance and our reservation was seated immediately for the birthday dinner and a sparkler was put on the cake for the guest. The waiter forgot a drink, but brought it after reminding him. The bun on the burgers were a little too charred for two people. The mac and cheese was delicious and the other dishes appeared enjoyed. The check was not divided, but maybe they don't do that here.
Dora had the best customer service! The food exceeded our expectations. I will defintely return!
Starting out great with very good appetizers, went downhill pretty quickly with the main courses.
The ribs were probably the driest ribs I've ever had in my life.
I brought family to the Pig this past Saturday Evening.
It is nothing fancy which adds to its charm
The food was good but the service was not done with a smile.
The waitress could have been more friendly and realize we are customers and not an inconvenience.
Overall I will go back.
The ribs were awesome just need more sauce.
Family was visiting and we wanted to show off DC’s food scene. The Pig has a fun atmosphere and a unique menu. It lived up to our expectations and everyone had a blast. We’d definitely return for dinner just for us.
Face Bacon appetizer is a must try! Our table enjoyed the shank and porchetta.
Dinner on a Wednesday in March. Restaurant was full. Bookings necessary. Great beer selection and waiter made good suggestions. Food was great. Pork belly bun entrees a good twist on the norm. Burger was great as was the liquid dessert. Highly recommended.
Great services and food
First timer at The Pig for a DC newbie. Wanted to find a spot downtown fairly close to Union Station. Nice vibe here - dimly lit, cool bar area, seating area was small but well spread out. Food was top notch BBQ (mmm pork belly buns), whiskey cocktail I had was a little underwhelming, but fine selection of whiskeys, bourbons and beers. Servers were great. Would go again for sure, if only to sample the Face Bacon and the Charcuterie.
Good drinks and food
Visited a friend in the Logan Circle neighborhood and came across this little gem. We went for Sunday brunch and everything we had was so fresh and delicious! From the bacon bloody Mary’s to the pig slam breakfast. They have an option for brunch called the ultimate pig which includes one starter and one entree, and either a drink (alcoholic/non) or dessert for like $29. And you get a ton of food! I highly recommend the pork belly sliders for the starter, they are so flavorful and to die for! The salad is also delish and has the lightest vinaigrette dressing on top, absolutely perfect! We will definitely be coming back soon!
Amazing food and cocktails! Would recommend to anyone 😍
Great service, amazing food and great suggestions from our server. Also the host was very pleasant.
Delicious food, solid service. Wish the menu was a little less expensive and then I'd go more often. As it stands, it'll be a contender for a special occasion with friends when wanting something comfortable in terms of food and ambience.
Brunch was awesome!
This is a gem of a place. We were in Washington on conference and we went to the Pig for a Friday night. The beer and cider selection paired very well with the menu (we were all wined out). The Charcuterie was plentiful and well planned. The dumplings were yummy (my husband and I shared) and both mains were stunning. If you want comfort food - with beautiful fat flavour - choose the porchetta. I had the pork confit and it was brilliant. We were way too full to consider dessert.
It is casual in ambience. (Jeans are ok). The head to tail philosophy of the menu is great.
GREAT BRUNCH. The food is awesome
Perfect spot for dinner. Everything from start to finish was excellent! Stuff is kind and attentive. Fast service. Food is outstanding. We ordered sausage board and pho. Very very good!!
The food is always great, and interesting. Who'd have thought scrapple could taste so good?
Service was very good food was delicious
A return visit to the Pig and it was just as good as the previous dinner. We started with the Little Pig (3 meat and cheeses ) and the Bacon Cheek (SO good!!!!) as appetizers, then we shared the Half Rack Baby Back Ribs between two; delicious and completely filling, although we did save room to share the vanilla ice cream with expresso and chocolate nibs (yum)! We’ll definitely be back!
The Pig is a fun place to go with friends, family, or coworkers in DC. We had several appetizers and craft beers, and all of the food was solid and creative.
The fish was startling good for a place called "The Pig". The ribs were wonderful, too. The crowd was a little younger than we anticipated, but a fun group.
The Valentine's Day set menu was very delicious. The service was great, very quick and nice waitress. Would dine here again.
We came for Valentine's dinner and we stated to the waiter, that we could not stay as there was really nothing on the menu that my partner could eat. It was a fixed menu for the night. She said she would talk to the cook about his allergies and see if they could come up with other items for him.
She came back with a great collection of selections for him and we stayed and had a great time with their help on the items.
Great food, drinks and environment.
Food was good
Partner and I booked Sunday brunch, restaurant was busy but very friendly welcome and our server very helpful. We chose the Ultimate Pig Brunch - one starter one main and a desert or you can swap that for a bloody mary (Pig style) or a Mimosa. We chose the alcohol!. Our starter was the pork belly buns two small buns with a piece of pork belly inside, very hot and tasty. I had th Eggs Benedict - good sized portion and very good indeed partner had the pig slam breakfast a huge portion arrived served on a wooden platter so much that he could not finish it but again very good. We can see why this restaurant is popular the food that was passing us to other tables looked good too! Highly recommend
We had a lot of brunch spots to choose from during our weekend trip to D.C. And we're so glad that we picked this one. The menu is bacon and pork heavy, offering unique preparations. Definitely try the meat boards!
