I am sure the place is better when it's not Restaurant week. Also I felt that the Porchetta entree could have benefited from an acid component like a drizzle of apple cider vinegar glaze/reduction.
Also the bar seats are not comfortable for long term sitting.
Food awesome. Just needed more comfortable chairs for our 2 hour dinner
The food was awesome and our waiter was very helpful when it came to ordering our drinks and food.
I would definitely go back the next time I am in D.C.
The food was so delicious - some of the best we've had in all our travels. The pork chop is worth the trip alone!
Overall was pretty good, but the grits which are a flagship item, were mushy and kinda tasteless. Beers were kinda expensive for lunchtime ($9).
Beet salad was amazing and the pork chop was over the top. Had some good beers with it and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend.
A wonderful meal with attentive service from John, our waiter.
First visit to this restaurant. Service was great, ambience really nice, and it was just 5:30pm so it was not noisy. Problems with the food however. We ordered a burger and half rack of ribs. The most shocking and disappointing were the french fries that came with the ribs. They definitely were not fresh. The restaurant that just opened, so the only explanation was that the fries were leftovers. They had zero moisture, chewed like cardboard and were flavorless. The kind of thing if you took fries home in a doggie bag and tried to eat them the next day, really unappetizing. Along with the ribs, we expected french fries to be one of the best parts of the meal. Did not complain since we were extremely hungry and there wasn’t enough other food to eat while waiting for fresh ones. Half rack of ribs maybe slightly smaller than hoped for, but they were good. The hamburger was small, about five bites. This restaurant has good reviews and has been around a long time so the only explanation is maybe the cook hadn’t arrived yet and these were partly leftovers. How the kitchen served them I’m not sure. My lesson learned: don’t go really hungry to a restaurant you’re not sure about, if something in adequate comes out, there’s no time to make up for it.
Went to meet friends. The service was great. Our server knew the menu and was not afraid to make recommendations. Start with the big pig. It is big and excellent mix of meats and cheese. Pickles made in house are fantastic. We had the pork chop Brussels Cesar salad and the bbq ribs. All were very good. Sides also very good. Very reasonable price. I am looking forward to returning.
The Pig was great. Fun atmosphere. Really great food. Service was excellent.
Delicious food, welcoming atmosphere and family friendly!
Very good! Awesome selection of whiskey and fantastic menu selection. Would definitely return.
Great execution and a fabulous meal from start to finish. A fresh menu created by a truly talented chef. A neighborhood gem! Highly recommend!
Good food and service. Bragged about to friends. One annoyance was music unfit for eating dinner; do not leave teen on charge.
One of our most enjoyable meals in DC.
The food was fantastic, and the service was even better. If you go ask for Dawn to be your server - she’s incredible! Also, get the Pork Belly Buns. They will change your life.
It was just OK.
We enjoyed the pork chop and steak, loved both.
Great place that celebrates pork in several tasty ways. Meat was fork tender and service was friendly.
The food was really good! I got the shank and it was super tasty. i also got the chocolate cake for a dessert which was also very good. And the best part, it's reasonably priced!
Have eaten at The Pig several times(7). Bar service has always been average but three restaurant has always been very good to great. This dining experience fell short. Sausage Sample appetizer was outstanding the rest of the meal didn’t meet THe Pig meals of the past. Time to move on. Service was very good however.
lighting was a little dark. great service from hostess and waiter!
It was quite nice, great ambience even better food!
We got the pork chop, shank, bbq ribs, Mac and cheese and Brussels. Everything was delicious!! Meat was falling off the bones and the pork chop was 10oz cooked perfectly and still nice and moist. Everything came out really quickly and the service really friendly.
Some of the most fantastic food I’ve eaten in awhile. The sauces on the pork chops were so complex and delicious I ate far more than I was hungry for because I kept needing to go back for “one more bite”
Everything was delicious, particularly the porchetta
The best shank, without having to go to Germany
Fabulous experience won’t regret
Delicious food and great service. Will definitely go again.
Would eat here any day of the week.
Food was delicious and our waitress was extremely genuine and helpful. Will definitely go back!
Mediocre food and ambiance.
Wasn’t impressed with this place. Didn’t live up to the other reviews.
John, the waiter, was extremely nice and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the menu, helped us understand our food choices in detail as it was our first time and also made great recommendations. Wonderful ambience, though it was a busy Friday night and a bit noisy.Did not find this to be a reasonably priced restaurant.
Great restaurant! Have been here a few times and never disappointed with the food or service. Highly recommend making a reservation to avoid any waiting for a table. This visit, our waiter was knowledgable about the menu and had great recommendations about what paired well for the charcuterie board. I plan on keeping this restaurant in rotation when visiting DC
Great place, really good food and would return again! Slightly expensive but a great evening
Highly recommend the sausage board for a starter. I had The Shank for my main and it was delicious. Crispy outside and tender inside. Highly recommend the truffle mac for a side. 5 stars!!
My husband and I really enjoyed our food. We ordered the ribs and it was great! Highly recommend if you’re in the area
Good experience. One of the food items was undercooked. Overall didn't take away from the experience.
I have a very strange and very serious food allergy. The server asked right away if anyone had any food allergies before we ordered. I told her I did and she literally went back to the chef and came back with a list of everything on the menu that was safe for me, along with substitutions the chef said he could make! My husband I were blown away. I have never eaten at an establishment that went this above and beyond to ensure their customers safety. Thank you to everyone at The Pig! We had the best experience and the food was amazing.
