Loved this place. I’m still in a pork coma. Our waitress was the best. She was very attentive and made awesome recommendations. I’m going back for those fried pork belly sandwiches.
This place might single handedly keep Virginia's hog farmers in business. And that's a good thing. The Pig is outstanding.
Fun place with cute atmosphere. Good place to meet for Brunch with friends and family.
The server too quite a while to get to our table and was generally uninterested in us.
Visited the Pig based on previous reviews and it was within walking distance from where were staying in DC. The service was good and the food decent, I also liked the decor. Kind of what I expected based on the reviews. I did find however, that the prices are higher based on the food ordered and quantity provided. I would recommend the Pig if in Washington and you happen to staying around 14th Street area.
The service and atmosphere was good. Food was good, if a bit pricey.
Not the place for you if you are a vegan - but the name probably gave that away. If you are a devout meat eater like me, this place is heaven! I had the pork belly app (YUM!) and the pork shank entree (YUM!) - I left on a pig high! It is now a regular stop for every trip to D.C.!
I had brunch here for my birthday this past Labor Day. They accommodated my large group of 20 online and provided excellent service throughout the entire brunch. The servers were attentive and even let us do separate checks. The food was amazing and all of my friends remarked on it. Overall major success!
The service was ok and friendly. The sausages were A bit cold when served and the ribs were average tasting so all in all okisch but not as expected.
Wonderful food. Pork chop and shank we ordered were both delicious.
I'd recommend for the experience of the bacon wrapped peaches and pot belly biscuits. The entre meals are tasty, rich and overpriced. Their toffee dessert is outstanding!
I had the pork chop. It was cooked to perfection. The coulee was very tasty and the zucchini grilled very nicely. My dinner partner had the ribs. They were fall off the bone tender with an excellent barbecue sauce. Well worth the visit.
Food and service was excellent. The pork shank was tender and fell off the bone. Will definitely go back.
The pork chop tasted okay but what I had in May when I was last there was much better. I did not like the long thick strips of zucchini. And the potatoes were served whole versus smashed. But I will be back.
We did brunch. Only some of our group did bottomless. The food was okay, the service left a lot to be desired. We are all adults and a pretty calm
Friend came in town and decided to treat him to amazing food and drinks. Can’t wait to go back. Service and food was awesome
The food is really good and very creative and flavorful. For the price point of this restaurant, the service is terrible. The waiters and managers are rude and condescending in a passive aggressive way. It's obvious that they really don't care about the customers. But the food is good and the location is good. Who knows, maybe we will stop going if the food quality starts going down.
2nd visit really disappointed. We had starter and main meal within 45 mins and then they asked to cork our wine to leave rather than finish the bottle there . The focus is not on pork any longer with over half the menu being nine pork products
So delish! Love when for that good is in an unpretentious setting! Everything we ate was delicious- and we ate A LOT. The pork shank sausage board side of carrots etc etc ... the only thing I will Say is for $15 a pop on cocktails (which were delish as well) least give me a buzz!!! Otherwise our server Lauren and all the food was incredible! Will def return!
The food was good. I did the $22 restaurant week brunch. I was disappointed that I would have to pay like $13 for a drink to go with the meal. The French toast was ok, nothing impressive. The pulled pork and toffee pudding were good as well. My waiter was attentive and gave great service.
Went for Restaurant Week. Started with bacon wrapped peaches that made my taste buds explode. Moved on to pork cheeks which were equally delicious. Finished up with light and delightful cinnamon toast panna cotta. The bar made a spot-on dark and stormy and our waiter was attentive without being pushy. Overall a wonderful evening out.
Food was great, but very over priced for what it was
Face bacon and bacon wrapped peaches were amazing. All the mains we had were very average and the sticky toffee bread pudding was very dry and actively bad.
The Pig is like the tale of two chefs. The appetizers were great. We had the pork belly buns, face bacon and lengua barbacoa tacos. All three were absolutely delicious. And when I say delicious I mean, lick your fingers, get all the sauce from the plate delicious. Our entrees were the pig dip with grits and applewood smoked ribs with fries and coleslaw. Neither meal was at all impressive. The grits were bland, the fries seemed like they had been sitting around for a while and the sauce on the ribs tasted like ketchup and there was no smoke to be found on the ribs and they were tough. It's had for me to believe the same chef cooked both the appetizers and entrees. We were disappointed with the entrees after having such stellar appetizers. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding. The vanilla gelato wasn't included-I guess because we went for restaurant week? And we had mango sorbet with seasonal fruit. Basically, it was a scoop of mango sorbet with some raspberries. Not impressed. Our drinks were the smoke in the city and piglet's sweet heat. Both were decent. I would only go back for the appetizers.
It was a good easy and casual place to go and have a few good cocktails and food. Recommended if you have the chance.
Great food, great drinks and service! The portions are generous. They know how to cook a pork chop and keep it tender. The ribs were juicy and fell off the bone. This place is best suited for family or group of friends.
This experience was wonderful. They accommodated an unexpected addition to our group and set us up nicely.
The food was fabulous and the service was amazing!
Great food great service
Absolutely delicious! Everything we tried was amazing, especially the face bacon. The service was very fast, and the staff were very knowledgeable on their menu and excited to explain how the dishes are sourced and prepared.
Many attractive and imaginative menu options. Fresh ingredients, well prepared. Cocktails and dessert also superior. Very nice space, not at all crowded or noisy.
The food was quite delicious and filling. Wish I had room for more.
This place is the bomb!! Our waiter was amazing he treated my friend and I like gold from start to finish. We both had the pork chops, something I would never usually order but oh my god did the gamble pay off. Succulent pork chop with wonderful flavors. Also ordered a side of the Mac and cheese which was amazing. It was so good that we even went for a dessert! Highly recommend this place.
Great food & service. Everything we ate was outstanding.
Didn’t have to wait for a table and got our food pretty quickly... The hardest thing was costing one meal as they all sounded delicious! Would definitely come back if we ever done ourselves near.
The food was fantastic. The pork belly buns will change your life. Brunch food and drinks were fantastic. A lot of great comfort food.
I always come to here when I'm in DC. If you're a pork lover, don't pass this one up.
Went for happy hour before dinner (highly recommend). Got drinks and apps before sitting at the table and enjoyed amazing pork chops and bread pudding!!
This was a wonderful meal. A friend and I split multiple dishes and each one was a delight: the baked Brie, the watermelon and mozzarella salad, the bacon-wrapped peaches, to name a few. I had a cocktail that was both delicious and refreshing (it had mint, vodka, and sparkling wine) and when I couldn't decide on a dessert, we ordered both. The sticky toffee pudding is more of an inspired cake; it was very good but not very sticky at all, just so you know what you're in for. The panna cotta likewise was very good but didn't have any cinnamon flavor baked in; that was all on the side.
Overall, this will be a meal that I remember for a long time.
