The Pig and the Lady
Very nice to my very young children, Family visiting from LA was impressed
We were seated prior to our reservation which was nice. Order the llc wings that were delicious. Our water however, was rude and checked on us twice. Had to ask several other bus boys walking around for items we needed. Hostess was very nice and worked with us to get us in the right spot. I’ve been here before and enjoyed it. The only thing this time that was a disappointment was the waiter and the fact they didn’t serve duck pho. According to the waiter it’s an occasional dish.
Delicious, innovative food with fun and friendly service. Our server from our last visit (4 months ago) even remembered us and stopped by our table to say hello. I only wish we lived closer, as we’d be regulars.
Delicious food with great service! The entire staff makes you feeling so welcome and are ready to help with any questions or suggestions. The vibe is also very comfortable and relaxed, you can feel like home here. Be sure to try and sit at the dessert bar so you can see the awesome pastry team in action!
This place is always fun and the food incredible. I like how they are not afraid to change the menu with new items. Never boring! The soft serve is way under rated- try it! Super loud space so not for intimate conversation.
Great Vietnamese food. The banh mi beef dip is definitely what you need to try! A bit more on the pricey side for Vietnamese food but it’s worth it.
The Pho French Dip was revolutionary big will change your life. Service was quick and friendly. Food off the charts. A busy restaurant but not overwhelmed by the volume of noise. Could not recommend highly enough.
Food, all of what we ordered, was excellent. Our wait help was patient and answered our questions when we didn't know which sauce to use. Took home the leftovers and the next day it tasted just as good and one dish tasted even better … we were probably over-filled the day before!
Beautiful trendy space. Plenty of diners present which felt inviting but not claustrophobic. Amazing menu, you’ll want one of everything. The idea of a Vietnamese “French dip” with bahn mi and pho broth is genius, and the fact that there’s a vegan French dip option is incredible. Drinks are small but delicious. Service is fast and service standards are excellent, while the servers themselves maintain a warm laid-back attitude.
Awesome experience. Our waiter Keenan was extraordinary! Took time to explain the menu, talk about Chinatown and provide a great experience. The food....amazing. Fried chicken wings, Ahi toast, carpaccio and ramen. All foodies and want to be foodies Go...it’s worth it.
Food was over rated. Chicken, papaya salad and broccolini was good. Pork loin, scallops, slider and bun was not great in my book.
Our server was very nice but I wish he had us pull the reigns on our order as we ordered way too much. Then the other waiter (short, bald guy) delivered a drink that we didn’t order and when we told him we didn’t order it, he stormed off all annoyed which I thought was uncalled for.
In the end, I wouldn’t go back.
Delicious! The food is so good here. The seasonings and quality of the ingredients are top-notch. Flavorful in every bite. And the soft serve is remarkable - flavors change everyday and are never pedestrian. This day is was Earl Grey Tea and Lemon. This unusual pairing allowed two different flavors from to compliment but not clash, and worked together so well.
The ingredients are so fresh and the presentation is outstanding.
Heavily sensationalized by YouTube, I would temper your expectations as the Pig and the Lady differs minimally from a very average Vietnamese restaurant. The signature dishes - the Pho and the Bahn Mi dipped sandwich were not noteworthy in any regard. Expect your typical MSG based pho broth which serves as the dipping sauce for the sandwich - an unflavoured piece of pork belly between a plain baguette. A strange sensation after the meal, it almost feels like you haven’t eaten anything. Lots of expensive parking in Chinatown which has little to offer around the restaurant. Read reviews carefully, food vloggers tend to over exaggerate and have heavily biased feedback.
Hipster restaurant, concise menu, pricey but delicious food. It was a lovely date night!
Spectacular! Hyped up reviews actually totally accurate. Apps were all great, pork chop amazing, and desserts incredible. Small but strong wine list but great cocktails and beers. Any visit to Honolulu should include a meal here in Chinatown!
First visit to the The Pig and the Lady, so not quite sure what to expect. Don't let the area fool you, the restaurant is great with good food and energy. Highly recommended!
I have eaten at Pig and the Lady several times, but it was the first time for my friend. We both thought all the dishes (LFC wings, Ahi tataki on tomato toast, crispy broccolini, diver sea scallops) and the desserts (Goat cheese panna cotta, Green Apple sorbet puff) were incredible. Service was attentive and well-timed, and the waiter apologized when my drink was delayed slightly. The combinations of flavors and textures are inventive, but they all work. My only complaint is the relatively high noise level, which for those of us in the past-middle-age range, makes it more difficult to hear our dinner companions. I have never had a bad meal there, but the dishes I had on this visit were outstanding.
Our waiter was excellent, probably the highlight of our visit. The food wasn’t bad but I don’t think it was good value. The Curry Scallops were Ok. The curry sauce was the star of this plate. The $49 Pork Chops were very tender and easy to share. Craft cocktails just Ok. The $24 Pho was Very tasty. The Must have dish is Chicken Wings.
The service was slow to start,we waited a good ten minutes for water but the experience after that was great. Fabulous food and interesting drink menu. We had a great night
Inventive food you will not find anywhere else. Arrive hungry and save room for the malasadas.
California friend can't wait to return to feast on their food. Waitress was so funny plus accommodated our every need for sharing the dishes. Wonderful experience...
Everything was very good. Slightly delayed service and noise level due to lots of customer but can be overlooked. malasadas is even better than leonards
Very poor service level, isolated to our particular waiter.
Very disappointing visit. Service slow and honestly sloppy - we were asked to clear our own forks and knives off plates and “hang onto them” between courses. With entrees over $40 I’d expect clean silverware. We were also asked to move unfinished food from one plate to another to help the server clear our table. Appetizers came out randomly. Food was only OK. Not at all how I remember (fondly) this restaurant from previous visits.
Didn’t stay for dessert as we’d been there for nearly 2 hours by the time we finished our entrees (they came 75 minutes after we sat down). At over $80 a head without wine this was just an appalling experience. Can’t imagine ever eating there again. Not what it used to be alas.
It is not Vietnamese food. Bathroom decor can be offensive for Asian people.
Flavorful, fun. Great service and amazing desserts!
Love the ambiance, service, and food!
My favorite go to place for lunch!
Shrimp with noodles and green papaya salad is my favorite!
Will always go back there because of consistency and service!
The food is fantastic. Sat at the dessert bar. Those chefs are incredible. So talented. A feast for the eyes only rivaled by the culinary feast! Super Yummy and nice staff as well. Highly Recommend it!
Everything we ordered was excellent. Service was great also.
Always consistent, always delicious.
One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in the island. Staff are attentive and the service is great. The food are amazing! Will definitely come back and recommend it when ever we come to Honolulu.
Loved our waiter...I think his name was Trey. Very helpful and friendly.
Service was very slow. Seemed like they did not have enough wait staff. Food was good and plentiful.
Everyone was friendly from the hostess to our waitress. For was excellent!
Foods awesome! Amazing flavors developed.
You also pay the price for the carefully crafted foods as meals are pricier than your typical Vietnamese restaurant.
Atmosphere is lively - so not good for business lunch, but fine for casual/friend lunch.
Got there 1/2 hour before res time and we were accommodated!
Waitress outstanding!!! She was working the whole floor...WITH A SMILE...she needs a raise!
Disappointed with menu change. We don’t live on island so don’t come often. Was hoping to have red wine broth pho to no avail...so I had French dip...it was good. Husband had cold noodles with pork belly...not to our liking.
Checked menu online before getting there but it wasn’t updated to show change🙁
Iced Coffee-Like dessert unchanged, Love it!
Chicken wings pretty good but not as tasty as we remember.
We had to wait a bit for a server to come to our table. After that service was great. Ordered the poke, a new item and we were given spoons for the vinaigrette. We also had trouble finding any ahi. Would not order it again. Great broccolini, banana blossom salad, tuna tataki and pork chop
Interesting wine list
