The Pewter Mug Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant is outdated and dirty the food is not very good at all it is overpriced the salad bar is a joke I would not recommend this restaurant to even my worst enemy I find it hard to believe that it has good reviews I do not believe we were there on an off-night
Started coming here 30 years ago with my parents. They are now gone, but we still enjoy coming down and remembering all the good times and food we shared. We have never been disappointed with the food or service. We bring guests whenever they come to town. We were celebrating both my wifes birthday as well as mind on this last visit. We would recommend anyone looking for a place to make favorite memories try itbonce, you'll be glad you did. Thanks for all the memories from the past trips and the ones left to come in the future.
The Pewter Mug is our favorite for 'occasions.' We've celebrated many birthdays and anniversaries here. The salad room is outstanding and the soups are always good. The ambiance is old Florida/nautical and we would very much miss it if it ever went out of service!
Haven't been to Pewter Mug in many years, but went with friends who had never been. We were seated immediately upon checking in for our 6 p.m. reservation. The place was full! Our server, Cindy, was prompt, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. The salad bar was fresh and frequently re-stocked. Onion soup was delicious. Two of us had prime rib, one had ribs, one had chopped sirloin. Everybody was pleased and too stuffed for dessert. We will definitely be back!
The prime rib was nothing special, just average. We love the salad bar, although it is a little crowded when some of the items need to be replenished when customers are in line. Our waitress was hurried but friendly and her opinion of the house wine was spot on. We would not rush back if prime rib was what we were in the mood for.
The salad bar, that comes with every meal, was very fresh and the homemade soups included were both excellent. Scallops were very tasty and fresh also. The soup and salad bar as an entree at $14.99 is a great value.

WE had a reservation; we took the clicker, and waited, waited, waited, because they forgot about us. This would have put us off, but we have been there many times before and like their food. And the food was terrific. It was the usual busy Friday night so we made the reservation with Open Table.
We had reservations but could not be seated for awhile. There were tables available, but
they didn't have enough staff to wait them.
Food was average. Three of us had prime rib and one had salmon. Probably would not
Being longtime customers, we were looking forward to our 47th Anniversary dinner. The beverages were excellent (as usual), the salad bar and dinner sides were also excellent (as usual). The problem was with their signature offering - the entree. The prime rib was a joke - tough and the presentation looked like it was just thrown on the plate. The sirloin steak was ordered as medium-rare but was overcooked (at least medium-well) and looked like a piece of cardboard on the plate.
We would have sent the entrees back but there obviously just wasn't enough staff to handle the crowd - and that seems to be a problem. The attention to detail just was not attended to and seems to have been slipping over the past year or two.
It's a great serving staff that is grossly overworked - why isn't there at least a person to clear the tables so the wait staff can do their job more effectively?
All in all, it was a very disappointing evening!
Air conditioning not working very Hot, in the dining room, was told the unit is 30 years old and had to wait for the landlord to have it fixed, did not enjoy eatting dinner with it being 80 degrees at the dining room table .
