The Perfect Pint - West Ratings and Reviews
I had a reservation that didn't appear to be needed. The restaurant was mostly empty, but not sure if that is because it was Thanksgiving or not. The location was perfect, only about five blocks or so from Rockefeller Center, making this a great spot to pop into for a bite after seeing the tree. I ordered Irish chicken fingers which were just plain old regular ones. They were good and cooked perfectly. For my main course, I ordered the shepherd's pie, which while tasty and filling, had what seemed to be instant potatoes that were very dry. The presentation was very nice and the food was filling. For dessert, I ordered a brownie sundae which was supremely delicious. I would go back another time and try another traditional Irish dish as the service was excellent and my waitress was actually from Ireland, making the experience that much better.
We arrived late for our reservation. The restaurant was not crowded. We were in and out in an hour for our theater plans. Service was wonderful, timely and friendly. Calamari was surprisingly good for a pub! Big beer menu and our entrees were all delicious. (skip the nachos)
We would definitely recommend the Perfect Pint for a casual meal.
We went to Perfect Pint for a pre-theater dinner and were seated in a restaurant room with only tables for dining. Unfortunately, we were seated between two loud groups, one of which was aparticularly raucous and overwhelmed the entire room with their noise and shenanigans. The room had no fabric or soft fixtures to dampen sounds. When we requested that the group be asked to keep it down a bit, we were told by the manager that we were in "a bar" and that what else can you expect in "a bar." Needless to say, if they prefer to see themselves as a place for loud, drunken parties, rather than a restaurant with an excellent beer menu, then we will not be returning.
Very good pre-theater restaurant. Very clean, 3 levels with 2nd floor dining room quiet and good for conversation, 3rd floor is fun open roof deck. Food was good and nice selection of craft beers. All in all, a very good place to eat before going to the theater. And not expensive!
We ate here on Saturday 8/26/17 at 6pm before going to see a show. We sat on the rooftop for dinner. We were served quickly and the waitstaff was helpful and friendly. We ordered nachos, bourbon steak, a shepherd's pie, and the brownie sundae. The food came out quickly and was all very good. We liked the rooftop setting and it was relaxed and friendly.
My only complaint is the music. It was bizarre! They were playing party pop anthems from the 90s; obscure boys bands, tween ballads, and at one point, even the macarena! It was annoying enough that instead of staying for another drink after dinner, we opted to leave for the theatre early. I expect pop music at a venue like that, but the cheesy, dated, juvenile stuff they were playing made me feel like I was at a Sweet 16 in 1998. Very strange!
I went for a pre-theatre meal. It was very quiet when I arrived at the restaurant which is located upstairs. It is definitely an Irish style pub. I had the bangers and mash which was delicious and a good portion. They have a decent wine list. I can't speak for the beer, of which they list many. The bartender/waiter was most solicitous and efficient. The Manager was pleasant, friendly and helpful.
I'm always glad to find a good restaurant in the Theater District. I found The Perfect Pint on Open Table while researching a good spot for dinner during a day of both matinee and evening shows. I have passed this pub a hundred times on my way up or down 45th Street, but I never noticed it. After reading the reviews of other diners, I thought I'd give it a try. We arrived early for our reservation, so we first had a drink at the bar. When it was time for dinner, we were escorted up to the restaurant on the second floor where we were enthusiastically greeted by our server/bartender Lorraine. We had time to kill in between the shows, and I can't think of a better place to do it. We had a leisurely dinner along with lots of pleasant banter with the very efficient Lorraine, a native of Cork, Ireland. The Shepherd's Pie and grilled chicken sandwich we ordered were both really good, and the apple tart and Irish Coffee we finished off with were top notch.
During our visit, we learned that there is also rooftop seating. We plan to return during the summer to try that out as well.
Excellent dining experience ! Went to the Perfect Pint pre-theatre on a Friday evening. Bar downstairs was crowded and lively, but we were seated in upstairs dining area, which was very quiet and a great atmosphere for dinner and conversation. Food was outstanding, with a mix of traditional Irish pub food and more creative fare ... Crab cake sandwich is a true winner. Great selection of cheesecakes for dessert to top off the meal. Excellent selection of draft beer. Service was excellent, and our server made several good recommendations to aid in our menu choices. Overall, a great experience, and we'll definitely be back when we're in NYC again.
My friends and I really like The Perfect Pint for lunch because, although it is one of many Irish pub-like venuesbin the area, their food stands out. My friend had the seared tuna wrap, and I had my favorite crab cake sandwich. We sat in the rooftop dining area on a perfect Friday afternoon. The service, as always, was excellent.
Perfect Pint is a great Irish pub with classic pub fare. The food was good and there were a good deal of beers to try on tap. We ate dinner on the top floor which had a good vibe but it did not have all of the beers, so we ventured down to the first floor to try the wider variety at the bar.
We very much enjoyed the bartenders on the first floor, they were extremely personable and made the experience a lot of fun. We would definitely would return and would recommend to any beer lovers looking for the perfect pint.
I ate here on a Friday night before a show at The Laura Pels Theatre around the corner. Perfect location! Downstairs was a very lively Friday post work bar scene so I was glad for the quiet of the upstairs dining room. The menu is slanted towards the Irish culinary delights but actually my friend and I shared the Ahi tuna wrap and crab cake dinner- delicious. The service was good and very friendly. I will be back!
