Always good and always the first choice for a special night in Punta Gorda. The food is very good - interesting specials and an excellent core menu. The service is a little slow, but good.

Our friends and we have been meeting at The Perfect Caper once a year for the past 6 years, as it is the halfway point from where we both live. Usually, the food is wonderful and I look forward to going there each year. However, this year, the food was not so great. I ordered the tempura shrimp, which usually consists of large, tender shrimp and is delicious. This year, the shrimp were ordinary size and very tough....very disappointing. My husband ordered a lamb dish which he found very ordinary. I'm hoping that this was just a blip in their culinary skills and things will be back to the wonderful way they were next year

Very good. Ive been here before and its been excellent in every way. This night they were just a little bit off but its still the best restaurant in the area to enjoy great adult beverages and interesting menu. Still love love it.

One of the best restaurants that we frequent. Service is terrific, even on busy nights. Food is exquisite with delightful presentation. We have had many items on the menu and have thoroughly enjoyed every appetizer, salad, and entree that we have ever had. Highly recommended, and we have to many people. As always, thank you for the enjoyable evening

Fine dining but in a casual environment. Not stuffy at all, but unfortunately a little too loud for table conversation. Maybe a remodel, enclosing the bar area with glass walls, would reduce noise for restaurant area. We were celebrating my wife's birthday 2/13/18, so we started with champagne (a very nice selection is available). Staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. We both ordered appetizers, my wife had jumbo prawns crusted with phyllo dough on a bed of avocado salad - when she sliced into the prawn it was too firm (almost hard) and too chewy to swallow! She told our server, and they sent out another plate which were perfectly prepared and delicious. I had the Calamari and they were great. We then shared a plate of heirloom tomatoes with house-made mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto. It was outstanding!
We were ready for a little break before our entree, and without asking, our server (Dean) gave us enough time to talk and enjoy sipping our wine.
Our entrees were also very tasty. I had the Braised Lamb with Gnocci, and my wife had MORE SHRIMP! This time it was Tempura with a meyer lemon dipping sauce over a salad base. It also had tempura-coated asparagus spears that were the best she ever tasted. She was too full for dessert, but not me! I ordered the fresh baked mini-donuts with cinnamon sugar coating and we both enjoyed coffee.
We enjoy this restaurant and have never been disappointed. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Excellent food and service! Probably the best restaurant in the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area. Highly recommended for a good night out! We will certainly return.

They restaurant was accommodating in calling back to say we could come earlier than the time we booked on OpenTable. The filet was rare and not medium. The calamari was dry and tasted as tho it was warmed up from the night
Before. The tempura shrimp was the best. The pasta with meat sauce was huge and tasty.
The staff was nice and informative. The price for prix fixe was inexpensive. The 2 glasses of wine for $10 was a bargain Overall, the evening was nice and they did a fantastic job.

This is probably one of my two favorite eateries in Florida. I will occasionally drive one hour to get there. Last week I ordered a pasta dish for lunch. I viewed the portion as small, and frankly the sauce was too salty. I would not recommend this dish. The first time we had lunch there last year, I ordered a hamburger topped with sautéed onion and blue cheese (imagine that!), and I don't think I've ever had a better hamburger anywhere else.

Yum Yum and more yum! Impeccable service as always additionally,Jeanie the owner/chef was there and she greeted every table and helped bring food to tables and explained some of the specials to those that had ordered them. Another great evening at the Perfect Caper!

Decided to try this restaurant for the first time with a recommendation from a friend that joined us. We were a party of 4 ladies. We were given menus upon our arrival and seating. Three of the ladies in our party (myself included) found the entrees quite pricey, as well as the appetizers. The 4th lady in our party requested the Prix Fixe menu, that we were unaware was available. The Prix Fixe was $25.00 per person and included the appetizer and the dinner. The food was delicious. The cocktails were quite pricey. Two ladies ordered Sangrias, and one lady ordered two Dewars martini. The cocktails were $11.00 each. We did not know this until the bill arrived.
For a party of 4, our bill was over $200.00. We were NOT expecting such an expensive check. I know that this restaurant is quite fancy, but I would consider this high end. Unless you have a special, SPECIAL occasion, and are willing to spend a great deal on a meal and upscale ambiance, I would think twice about considering this restaurant for a date night or normal weekday night out.
