Very classic old world dining. Great tea service. Wonderful tea flavor.

Very relaxing.

We love this place. It's independently owned and operated from the hotel (The Lowell) but it is an elegant spot with excellent service. Anthony, our waiter for Easter, was knowledgeable and attentive. The décor is classy and charming and overall, it's just a great place for a quiet meal.

Servers today kind of got under the expectation of an afternoon tea in the boutique 5-astar hotel. Two of them dropped knif on the floor and poured water outside the kettle. Hope they will be more careful.

I made a reservation for afternoon tea here for my mother and I after seeing the Downton Abbey exhibition. She was in visiting from out of town and this was going to be one of the highlights of her trip. We showed up to the Pembroke Room at the time of our reservation and the door was locked. A staff member went inside to inquire about our reservation, another employee came out to talk to us and said they had called and left a voicemail to cancel the reservation for a baby shower that had booked the room. I never received a phone call or message that the reservation was cancelled. The staff members we interacted with were all very rude, the woman from the Pembroke room kept implying this mishap was my fault, asking if I knew correctly how to make reservations online, if I used the correct phone number, etc. By the time we left to find somewhere else to get dinner, we had difficulty finding a place we could walk into without a reservation before our tickets to see a show that evening. Overall a horrible experience with this hotel and I would not be willing to provide them any business again in the future

The Pembrook Room is one of our favorite place to visit when in the city. It is always a very pleasant experience and one of the most civilized dining experiences we enjoy.

This was my third time enjoying the fabulous High Tea at the Lowell Hotel in the Pembroke room. Each time I brought a different friend or family member & they keep mentioning how much they love it there. The hotel is a beautiful English boutique style. The personal service starts as they open the front door for you all the way until you leave. The Pembroke room is very quaint & never crowded during the week. The weekend brings in a bigger crowd although it appears that they can only accommodate 30- 40 people. They have a large selection of teas & they will double up on the scones. With no extra charge. They accommodated my guest & I as it was Friday during Lent ( meatless day) by giving us an extra mini lobster roll. They served an array of delicious goodies along with the mini sandwiches, jam, lemon curd (mmm so good) & clotted crime. Waiter also brought warm milk if you like it in your tea. Food is wonderful & they never rush you. We spent around 2hours or more. It’s a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Beautiful place to celebrate a special occasion. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday with an Afternoon High Tea with Champagne. The food was pretty and delicious. The scones were hot, crispy on the outside deliciously moist on the inside. They came with Devonshire cream, lemon curd, strawberry jam and marmalade. The only disappointment was the lack of instagram worthy orange blossom decoration with the ordered tea as reported in an article. The teapot had a very generous amount of tea for 1 person! For her birthday, my daughter received a beautiful box of L.A.Burdick’s chocolates and we both were given another glass of champagne each. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Definitely my go t place in NY for afternoon tea.The room was very cozy and well appointed. It was not very crowded. The service was excellent and the sever did not hover because he had nothing else to do. We really got to enjoy then whole experience

I've tried almost all of the afternoon teas in New York. This is one of the best! Excellent service; they were able to accommodate one of party's dietary restrictions (no fish). Huge selection of teas and they were all delicious. Beautiful pastries. Tea is served in a lovely, quiet intimate room. One minor quibble - the scones were slightly more brown and dry than I like. Otherwise, perfect!

I thought I died and went to British heaven for afternoon tea. Exquisite surroundings, magnificent service and an amazing value. I never wanted to leave and will return as often as possible. After tea we had a cocktail in the intimate Lowell lobby before a roaring fire. It doesn't get better than this!

The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Having said that, the food was disappointing and wasn’t great if you are used to high end British Afternoon Tea. The bread used for the sandwiches was dry and the fillings were not tasty. You are given one scone (choice of plain, currant or blueberry) and I had the currant which wasn’t great. The cake selection sadly wasn’t much better. The hotel decor was tired and the restroom was in desperate need of renovation.

All in all, although the staff were lovely, I would not recommend.

We wanted a memorable afternoon tea experience and the Pembroke room did not disappoint. Everything was perfect.

Having just returned from London, where we had Afternoon Tea twice at the Savoy, once at the Goring, and, earlier in the week, at the NY Ritz-Carlton, I can happily report that the Lowell's Pembroke Room was by far the best. The room is not huge, like the Savoy or Ritz-Carlton, but intimate and beautifully done. It was quiet--a major issue with me(there was a dog in the Ritz-Carlton's lobby, about eight feet away from our table(we were near the door-- that was permitted to bark for a half an hour. None of that at the Pembroke). The sandwiches, scones and pastries all seemed just a little fresher and more delicious than at the other places. We'd decided before going to the Pembroke that it would be our last Tea, that it really wasn't special enough, nor was it worth it; we have since changed our minds and shall return to this charming spot on 63rd St.

Truly lovely afternoon tea! Perfect place to meet up and spend an afternoon with a friend. Food is very good. My only complaint is that the service is slow. If you are not in a rush and want to spend time with your guest then it is perfect.

We dined here on Christmas Eve for dinner. The goat cheese ravioli's were tasty but everything else was average. Some of the empty tables around us had not been cleaned off. It was a little disappointing . I preferred the restaurant where we had dined last Christmas Eve.

I went for high tea because it was rated as one of the top ten restaurant in nyc for high tea. But i was disappointed. The food portion is small, tea selection is limited and nothing special that worth the drive. Definite overpriced.

This is the 4th year we have participated in the High Tea in the Pembrooke Room. It is always lovely however, the biggest difference from the 1st year and the years following is the minimal savory options. The emphasis is the petit fours, the mini eclairs and the warm scones. Would like to see more savory included on the menu.

My sisters and I have a traditional Christmas tea in the city each year. We try to select a different venue each year. The Pembroke room was a perfect choice this year - festive decorations, overall ambience, staff, food and location. Delicious scones fresh from the oven made it wonderful!

When we visit New York, we always look forward to an Afternoon Tea at the Pembroke room. This year we were able to combine our Tea date with our "Christmas Spectacular" date at Radio City Music Hall. Both made for a perfect and memorable day. I would HIGHLY recommend the Pembrook room to anyone vising NYC. It is a tranquil and beautiful setting to "unwind" and spend time with a loved one or friend.

I would highly recommend Pembroke Room. We went there for afternoon tea. It was lovely. It was delicious, setting was beautiful and quiet. Scones and desserts in particular were delicious! We would absolutely go back!

I take my now adult daughter for afternoon tea around the winter holidays and have done so since she was a teenager. We both like this tradition.

Got seated at a very awkward table for three for afternoon tea. The chairs were the plastic fake silver chairs you rent for a wedding. The table was a folding table and we barely fit. Our knees were all touching. Service was inattentive. We had to flag our waiter down to get milk. The tea sandwiches were hard and stale. The waiter forgot to bring tongs for the pastries so we had to use our hands, though other tables were given tongs. Given the high prices, it did not meet expectations.

My experience was very pleasant. I'm so very glad I choose The Prembroke Room for our afternoon tea..

We were seated promptly. Then, 17 minutes later we were finally waited on. Yes, I timed it... 17 minutes. We sat there wondering if anyone was going to come to our table. The food was ok. But they never asked us if we wanted anything else. The tea was great. But The service was blah. We didn’t even get a tea sommelier...the hostess waited on us and asked us what tea we wanted. I had a couple of questions but unfortunately, she didn’t know much if anything about the teas they were serving. Nice ambiance for a small room. But overall, we were disappointed. Most certainly not our top Afternoon tea experience. And i doubt we’ll be back.

Lovely place in a lovely location but pricey for just average food. It was almost empty while we were there which may says something? We had omelets and I expected scones or crumpets or something but it was the plain old bread basket...,

The room and the service were outstanding but the tea and food were just ok. We were also the only party in the room for a good hour which is always a bit weird. This tea is significantly less expensive than other options near UES but it might be worth spending a little more for a better experience.

Excited to give a 5 star review to all aspects of The Pembroke. The Lowell is my absolute favorite hotel in NYC and their new renovation is exceptional.

They are very accommodating to our needs. I appreciate their service.
