The Pearl Ratings and Reviews
The Pearl was absolutely amazing! I went with previous reviews that suggested jalapeño cornbread with honey and butter as an appetizer — oh my gosh it was delicious. I’m from the south & they did cornbread very well! The server recommended the braised beef short ribs for the entree. One of the best dinners I have ever had. We had Jordan as a server & he was awesome. We will be returning!!
The Pearl is my favorite place in Columbus. I eat there very often and the food is always amazing. However, I was not impressed on Valentine's Day. We were seated in back, in a section over-stuffed with two tops. The tables were uncomfortably close and offered no privacy. It also took about 15 minutes for a server to greet us and take our drinks once we did get settled in. I was also disappointed to see that they don't offer Happy Hour on holidays.
The Pearl is a great place, but this experience was bad.
I made a reservation for Valentine's Day and was very excited to try it out. The food looked delicious from the menu that was given and it looked like a very cool place. I called ahead of time to find out if they still did happy hour even though it was a holiday and they confirmed that they did. When we got to the restaurant I asked to see their HH menu and they then told me they didn't do happy hours on holidays. I was pretty disappointed because that was a big reason we chose this restaurant. The server was very nice about it though and did discount our appetizer (which was delicious). The rest of the food was decent but pretty pricy. The only other complaint that I have was that the menu I saw online was not the same as their current menu. There were some items that were not available, so maybe the online one hadn't been updated. Other than that the atmosphere was very unique and I liked it. It was a nice place to go for Valentine's Day.
The Pearl is one of my top five favorite restaurant spots in the city. Whether I'm grabbing a drink at the bar after a long day, meeting up with friends, or dining for a special occasion, I always leave full and happy. You won't want to miss the House Smoked Salmon - $14 ($7 for happy hour). I can't go to the restaurant without ordering it.
The food is great and I love going there, but the wait was awful. We had 8:15 PM reservations and we weren’t seated until 9:00 PM. Then, our food didn’t come until 9:50 PM. They comped us appetizers, which helped. But, when I take a group of colleagues out for dinner, I expect them to be able to eat at a reasonable time.
I have dined at the Pearl many times....Andrew is our favorite server we had Eric on this visit all your servers are good. I HAVE ONE COMPLAINT ON THIS VISIT...the oysters on half shell were the size of a dime quarter at best too bad the price did not match the size
The atmosphere is uber-cool here. I love the food! A must try are Devils on Horseback from the appetizer menu. The entrees are creative and delicious. Don’t plan on counting calories here. The brown sugar pie with homemade whipped cream was the perfect capper to the perfect meal!
My wife and I have dined at The Pearl several times and have always enjoyed ourselves. We were there during happy hour this time so we were able to get great prices on drinks and snacks. I ad the shrimp and grits which had just the right amount of heat and great flavor. My wife had the fried chicken dinner. The plate of chicken was enormous with a great variety of white and dark meat. She ended up taking half of it home because we had to have pie. I had the cherry which did not disappoint and my wife had the mudslide pie which looked more like a small cake with chocolate mousse and whipped cream. She said it was delicious. Our server was attentative and quite friendly. Overall, we had a great experience!
We all agreed. We would come back. Loved, loved, loved John our server. Could have been a whole different experience with a different server. The seating was a little weird and could have been a little warmer, but John kept the hot tea coming. The food tasted great. We all loved each selection. The music was a little loud but very eclectic. We loved the decor, the floor design and the prep area design. Overall a pleasant experience!
I visited from out of town and had a reservation at The Pearl. I arrived about 15 minutes early but that didn't throw off the host at all, he sat my party right away. The service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and helpful about the menu. He gave us the perfect amount of time to decide what to get. The food was phenomenal. The oysters are to die for and the brunch menu was great. I highly recommend The Pearl and can't wait to go back!
We love this place and it’s special catches of the day. Very fresh food and knowledgeable staff. Cocktails are always amazing.
This visit the kitchen was running behind and our server brought out several appetizers without asking to apologize.
To say we were full before we started is an understatement.
Had a great dinner once again. Thanks Pearl!
What do you get when you infuse a gastropub, an oyster room and a premium quality cocktail program?
You may get CLOSE to The Pearl, but the truth is that there is nothing like it in the city that can touch it's supreme status of culinary perfection.
Everything is thought out, including the flatware, the variety of ambiance in the dining areas and even the linens (not the standard par crap everywhere else has).
I refuse to go to The Pearl regularly... Not because of anything bad or even the price point, but because I love the anticipation of going then being there for a delicious meal. It's like my version of the magic Dragon.
If you're looking for a standard fare seafood experience then go to Blackpoint (it's hideously average down to the management, I know first hand)...
If you're looking for somewhere that will be close to your heart that you'll fall in love with then you have to come here and do the full experience!
