The Pearl Ratings and Reviews
Overall an unimpressive experience. I made reservations in advance for 4 people @ 5:45 on a Thursday and requested a booth (for my wife's birthday). We were seated at a table in the corner close to the restrooms and adjacent to a couple of large parties. The noise level was excessive and the server had a difficult time getting close enough to our table. The service was adequate at best and it took quite a while before we got our drinks or before our server came back to take our order - also had to ask to have our water bottle refilled. Three of our four entrees arrived together and we had to wait for the fourth, and the food was just OK. Honestly, there wasn't anything about the evening that made me think of returning again. Sadly, this seems to be consistent with other Cameron Mitchell restaurants we've visited recently. We used to be able to count on any Cameron Mitchell establishment for exceptional food and service. Not so much lately. Disappointing.
We enjoyed the food and it was of good quality, but the service was lacking. Our waiter did not read us the specials, we actually did not know that there were any until we were leaving and overheard another waiter reading them to another table. In addition, we had a very difficult time getting to our table because of the placements of 2 other tables. This would have been understandable but the restaurant was not very busy; we could have been given a better table.
Seated 15 min past reservation time. Ordered medium rare steak and got dark red and chewy throughout (incredibly rare) for $40. Server took drink menu almost immediately then disappeared so we couldn't order drinks. 2nd time here, similar experience. High cost for barely decent experience. Wanted to like so bad.
Had been wanting to try this place for quite some time. The restaurant itself is very nice and the atmosphere is lively; however, both the food and service left a little to be desired. The waiter was rather standoffish with my husband and I and took nearly 20 minutes to take our order after brining our wine. My Arctic char was quite good but the salmon special was cooked well but seasoned very blandly. We ordered the snickers pie which was quite good. Overall, very underwhelming considering the hype surrounding this establishment. We don’t care to go back!
We decided to go to The Pearl while researching restaurants to go to before Trans Siberian Orchestra. We based our decision on the reviews of the food and proximity to Nationwide Arena (Not too close, not too far away.) We were so thrilled with our meals, everything from the starters to entre dishes were delicious. The restaurant is very cozy and although bustling with people, we felt like we were the only ones there. Our waiter, Charlie was attentive and offered good suggestions (like having the pickles fried). We will definitely be back to try brunch as we are sure it is wonderful! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
