Good Food and a very reasonably priced wine list !
Another fabulous evening at our favorite restaurant. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and we met with champagne and greeted by most of the staff. The food was amazing, the service is exceptional and the atmosphere is second to none!
Food was superb. Scallops were done to perfection. Chocolate torte was decadent. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Soft guitarist playing during dinner. Overall, a wonderful dinning experience. Would definitely return.
Heard so many great things about this restaurant that perhaps our expectations were unrealistic. The food was very good although the scallops were gritty and undercooked for me. Had a poor table and not impressed with the service which is the cause for the low rating. Prices were fine. We probably won’t be back.
Amazing food in a clean, simple, and elegant setting. Wonderful service and did I mention amazing food. We will definitely be back. Make sure to check it out!
Incredible dinner and desserts with friends. Our new favorite place near HHI!
This visit was not as good as usual for a restaurant that we really like a lot. Salmon was tasty but overcooked after we specifically asked for it to be rare to medium rare. My shrimp and crab piccata lacked some spices and was fairly bland. They have a reasonable wine list at good prices. It is nice they offer some live music, but I have to say this performer should have only played the guitar as singing was very poor - JMO. Service was good but not as good as we have had in the past. Seemed to be some commotion in the back as servers were discussing an issue and a shop vac could be heard. We will return as we have always had a great experience in the past so will not let one instance spoil a good thing.
The food and service were wonderful, but the price was higher than we would normally pay for a dinner out.
We had reservations for 2 weeks and still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Bar area is extremely small and crowded and took a while to get a drink for our wait! Waitress was very friendly but did not check back with us enough (ran out of water and drinks). Ran out of creamer for dessert/coffee. Food was 5 star as always.
New Year’s Eve. A bit overextended compared to normal dinner nights
We have been to the Pearl several times and have never been disappointed. This time was New Years Eve and for such a hectic night when so many things can go wrong, we found nothing wrong with anything at the Pearl. We were extremely pleased with everything. The place was full, but the service was great and as usual, we were all pleased with our meals. One big improvement was the wine list. We plan to return more frequently.
We has dinner at the Pearl on New Years Eve. The service, ambiance, food were excellent for a very busy restaurant! Usually any restaurant on New Year's Eve is over crowded, under staffed and cooks are overwhelmed...not here! Perfection in all areas! What a please to dine there!
New Year's Eve dinner at The Pearl is going to become a tradition! Every entre, appetizer and adult beverage was delicious and the service by Eric, outstanding. We'll be back and we won't wait until New Years!
We were there on New Years Eve. We sat outside. The food was amazing the servers were great.
They could invest in some patio heaters 😉
Yes I would recommend the Pearl, as it has a fresh, trendy, Lowcountry decor and style, however if you go on a holiday and make reservations, list any special needs and call again, just to reiterate those and be sure they can truly accommodate them. The prices on the holiday menu were high considering the portion size, and The Pearl isn't a formal restaurant. There are side dishes of veggies for vegetarians or vegans, however the portion size of those side dishes should be much more generous, prep each side dish and then present them in full size, and please offer more vegetables, fruit, legumes and whole grains, a baked potato option or whole wheat pasta or rice or chick pea pasta could help, also Quinoi and Kale.
Always such a special time! Service and food were top-notch.
Loved the food! Apps, salads, and entrees were all delicious.
Always eat here on Christmas Eve since the choice is so limited on "real" restaurants that are open. The food and service is always good. This year they served the best sautéed spinach that I have ever had with the beef filet which was perfectly cooked. Awesome!
Drink prices too high. Food and service was great. .
Despite making the reservation on Open Table, and being regular customers, they gave us the worst table for two right next to the kitchen. We asked to be changed and were tucked into a small table behind a large party of eight. Despite telling us all the other tables were for parties more than two, they proceeded to seat later parties of two at tables for four. Why they could not do that for us was unexplainable. Such a shame to get us out of the holiday mood, especially since the food there is usually excellent. Doubt we'll go there anytime soon.
We had a wonderful lunch to celebrate the holidays with our family members who were passing through on their way to Florida so we decided to meet in Bluffton and decided that the Pearl would be the perfect spot. My salade Nicoise and a side of truffle fries were outstanding. I really liked the way the chef presented the salad and the tuna was so fresh! Our server was very attentive without being overbearing. We’ve dined at The Pearl and have always enjoyed each dinner - this was the first time we had lunch and were glad that The Pearl was open for lunch on Saturday.
Great place in Old Town Bluffton.Service and food were excellent.Very good wine selections.
We had steak, bone-in ribeye and filet. Aged beef that doesn't get any better! Service was very timely, pleasant, and unobtrusive. Will be back to sample the seafood dishes.
When one charges the prices that they do at The Pearl, one expects exceptional food presented in superb fashion. This was not the case in this visit. The fish special, wreck fish, was excellent, but the potato, cleverly sliced like an accordion, was half done and basically inedible. How does a tp notch restaurant let this happen? They don't! To add to this, accompanying the potato was a slab (yes, I mean slab) of herbal butter which was as hard as a rock and didn't melt throughout the entire meal. If you want to be a high end restaurant, you need to meet the bar and The Pearl fell very short.
The food was delicious. Noise level could’ve been lower but certainly did not spoil the ambience.
The Pearl is one of my favorite restaurants in Bluffton. I have been there many times at different times of the year and the menu, service and overall dining experience has never disappointed my wife and me.
This time we tried the She Crab Soup and Fried Green Tomatoes. They were both delicious and memorable dishes. I will never hesitate recommending the Pearl and when I'm in town it's the first restaurant that comes to mind to get into the Low Country spirit. Enjoy!
I have been to The Pearl twice now. First time for our anniversary dinner and it was excellent, second time to celebrate the season with a girlfriend for lunch! Started with fresh grilled asparagus and calamari that is over the top! So tender and the side aioli and roulade were wonderful Too.
Everybody had fish or seafood. The preparation was outstanding in everything. Nice wine list, good service. Difficult to hold a conversation among 5 people because of the noise level.
Food was outstanding, fish was fresh and well prepared with great flavors. Service was excellent, Eric was very attentive. We will definitely return!
We always love the a pearl, but Sat. Night was a Hugh disappointment. Wine, good, salad good, Entree which was the special was burned to a crisp, I like blackened but
not burned to the point I had 2 bites of fish, rest was charred black and hard.
I’ve been here several times, but tonight the food was especially great. I had the bucatini and it was fabulous. The other two diners enjoyed their meals too. Eric always provides great service.
Excellent crab and shrimp with bucatini and tomatoes in garlic sauce and a side of roasted asparagus. To celebrate Thanksgiving, I had a slice of delicious pumpkin pie. Great atmosphere and fantastic service.
$$$$uperb. Will be back after we save up.
We have been to The Pearl many times and recently, like tonight, it has been hit or miss. The appetizers, calamari and fried green tomatoes, were excellent. For the entrees we ordered the scallops and the grouper special. The grouper was so overcooked we didn’t eat it. To add to our dinner woes, the largest of the 4 scallops was undercooked and couldn’t be eaten. While the manager took the grouper off the bill, the fact the dinners weren’t properly cooked when we were the only diners in the restaurant having entrees makes me wonder about the chef. We won’t be back for a while, which is unfortunate because we really like the restaurant.
Nice restaurant in Old Town Bluffton with appealing menu choices. Service was okay but could be raised a notch to match the overall feel of the restaurant and menu. Possibly more training on higher end service would be beneficial.
In general, the restaurant is much improved from when we were there soon after it opened. Regardless, our meal was generally very good. The mussels appetizer was good although quite spicey. I thought the ceviche app was very good. My wife ordered the ribeye medium rare. It came medium well. Not even close! We showed it to our waiter Eric and he generoisly offered to prepare another steak. For $50 I should hope so. The second came as ordered and was very good. I had the shrimp and crab pasta dish. It was good, but nothing to write home about. We will not hesitate to dine here again since there were several other apps and entres that looked very interesting. I'm fairly certain that Eric placed the original steak order correctly. He was very attentive and exacting. The folks in the kitchen need to pay closer attention. Offerings from the bar were good. We had cocktails to start and they were well prepared. The restaurant now has draft beer, a plus, and one of the offerings was an IPA, a double plus. The wine list was very adequate. Overall our experience was good to very good. We will return.
Whenever we visit Bluffton, we always make sure to dine at The Pearl. The bigeye tuna was cooked perfectly as well as the shrimp and grits. Carrot Cake was delicious. Great ambiance, very laid back. Highly recomended
The food was a bit overpriced. The special, veal parmigiana, did not have much flavor and the piece of veal was tough. I needed a steak knife to cut it. My wife ordered salmon over salad, an "off the menu" request that was very good.
