   I was reading the review and had a high expectation of a fine dining restaurant. My new York guest was not impressed with the quality and the décor of the food . We think the review is over-rated, given that both of us have been trying various fine dining in town

   Three of us went here for a celebratory dinner. We had the steak, lamb and rabbit (along with the scallop and soup appetizers). All three main courses were fantastic, the service great, wait staff knowledgeable, and the presentation very hip. Though it was pricy, we thought it was good value because the portions were decent and the meat exceptional. Would definitely go here again!

   I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was great! Our server was attentive and helped with menu questions and selections . The food was amazing. I recommend the caramelized orange scallops, the steelhead, and the pear sorbet for dessert! The menu wasn't overpriced which is rare for a restaurant of such high quality. There's a reason Pear Tree made the top 10 restaurants list in all of Canada for 2015. I will be telling anyone who will listen about this place.

   This is a gem of a restaurant. The menu is small, but exceptionally well presented. Nice wine pairing. The quality of food was outstanding. All starters and main courses that we had can be recommended.

   I was very pleased with the service and the quality of food. I ordered chicken and it was perfectly cooked. The bread they serve is heavenly. It is baked from scratch at the restaurant. I asked to buy a loaf and when i left they gave me a loaf ON THE HOUSE! My spouse ordered the lobster bisque and it was the best she ever had! My only criticism is the ceasar salad. I was unimpressed. It did not have any anchovy flavor at all. It was tasteless. But overall i loved the food and the non pretentous yet professional service.

   I went to the Pear Tree restaurant for a dinner with a friend and his wife. The service was exceptional from the moment t I walked through the door to the moment we left. We did not think our food could possibly be as good as was described by our waiver but it truly was. Attention to detail from the people sitting at the table to the food at the table. I am from across the country but I loo forward to my dining experience at The Pear Tree every time.

   The best tasting and presented food in the Vancouver area! Love this place, food always tastes and looks incredible. The have a real passion there. I asked for a tasting menu dinner ahead of time, and in doing so they made custom dishes just for us that evening!

   The Pear Tree is a restaurant that we have , for about 18 years, recommended to friends with absolute confidence that they will like it. We haven't been wrong.

   A work colleague mentioned this restaurant to me and I decided to bring my sister here when she was visiting from out of town. The restaurant was accommodating to our request and we were able to divide many dishes to sample more menu items. Everything was delicious and my sister and I were very impressed. It would also be great for a girls' night out or a romantic date. Worth the drive and will definitely be returning.

    We ate at the Pear Tree some ten or fifteen years ago. In those days it was a tiny, ordinarily furnished place with superb food. We tried it again a few nights ago and were disappointed. In a word we found Pear Tree to be overproduced. The food was superbly presented but nothing to write home about in taste. Obviously the decor was a product of a very expensive Inferior Desecrator deeply immersed in hard-edged techno. The service was considerate and excellent.
