The Patio on Guerra
Our favorite restaurant never disappoints! Celebrated Mother’s Day and the food was delicious as always!
Enjoyed delicious steak and tuna. Quiet, but I can (2) bar areas, 1 inside and 1 outside on the patio, which could lend themselves to a little more noisy crowd. Nice wine offerings as well.
First time here but we will return. We ate on the patio my husband got some bird dropping’s on him so we moved tables. Other than that it was excellent
Gem of a place
Wouldn’t realize till you walk in
Not only do i recommend i bring my friends here for special occasion dinners. The food is good and there is an unusual selection. My "go to" in the valley.
Great food. Best we’ve had in the area. We will be back.
Great service , everyone aware of occasion, felt warm welcome
Muy buena comida y la atención perfecta
Fuimos a cenar siete personas y los alimentos fueron excelentes y la música excelente
We come here every time we’re in McAllen. The food and wine selections are excellent and the service is as well. Angel has been our server every time and he is very attentive. We will definitely keep coming back!
I live in ft Lauderdale FL and visit my mother in McAllen frequently. I am from McAllen originally and the Patio is by far the finest dining establishment I have found in the valley in years. Mother is 89 years old and the individual tables are well lit, that's important for an 89 year old. The food is of excellent taste and quality and the wait staff has been efficient and attentive during our last 3 visits. I will return for each visit and most certainly mother will attend. Its her favorite restaurant in the valley as well.
This is one of my favorite McAllen spots but this dinner wasn't as good as usual because my group was not able to enjoy the dessert I had planned: bananas foster prepared tableside. There was only one guy who knew how to prepare it and he was needed to wait on a private party so that was a major bummer. Otherwise everything else was tasty.
Nice restaurant. Food was pretty good. Had the bone-in ribeye. Was very hard to cut. But the 16 oz. ribeye was better. Mushrooms were mediocre. Lyonaise Potatoes were great.
we had an early for 6. the atmosphere was nicely relaxed. We were able to converse without a problem. Food arrived promptly and correct temperature. We did not realize that tip was included in the bill. We all added a tip. A very honest waiter pointed this out to us .and revised each bill
excelent service and food.
great music and ambiance
Decided late to try The Patio....had been there two years earlier but moved from McAllen. Four of us had a variety of dishes. My Seabass was incredible and the other 3 were happy with their selections. Atmosphere dark and romantic as usual. Service terrific. Dessert was too good! Prices reasonable.
We loved this place! We chose to go here to celebrate our anniversary and what a good choice. Great food, great drinks and great service! We liked that even though it was a pretty full night it wasn’t overly loud. We will definitely be going back.
We enjoyed our visit and will return in the future.
The Patio is locally owned with its own history and character. It is a quiet place with the ability to visit. White table cloth with the service and varied menu that come with it without being stuffy. You feel comfortable wearing jeans or dressing up for a special occasion. They have several fish dishes for Lent. Their food was delicious from steaks to lamb and duck along with vegetarian options. Live music and an outdoor patio.
After a week of frozen dinners I treated myself to a delicious sea bass. Because of the early seating (5:30) there were only a few other diners present, plus a half dozen at the bar. Service was punctual, pleasant and efficient. The salad, entree and vegetables perfectly prepared and presented.
This is a place my wife will enjoy when she is able to join me in McAllen.
This is a fine restaurant. The live guitar music created very nice ambiance and kept the noise level down. The ahi tuna was just excellent. The red snapper was fine also. Wine list was very good. The only negative part of the evening was parking. There was no street parking and no valet either. We eventually found parking behind the restaurant and came in thru the back door. Not impressive at all , in fact, one of the worst parking arrangements I've experienced at a good restaurant.
The service and waitstaff are amazing. They make you so very welcome and comfortable.
The only issue we have is that the food was extremely salty. I ordered tuna tartar. Usually, tuna tartar is clean and refreshing. This however was very salty causing it to be heavy. We lived the restaurant, however, and will come again if given the chance.
Albert was an excellent server.
Some of the best service and food in the valley. Good for business good for family good for dates etc. Nice variety on the menu Always fresh and well prepared
Everything was wonderful. The meal was delicious and we enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere.
Always dependable place to take out of town guests in addition to our own nights out.
This visit to the Patio was somewhat disappointing ... the server was totally distracted making several errors in the course of our business meal. I was served for my meal an aaptizer and then after they realized the error most in my party had completed their meals. This visit was certainly what I had grown accustomed to at The Patio
Live music. Excellent
Arrived 5 minutes before our reservation with a confirmation number from this site. We cheched in early that day to let them know we were going. They appeared surpised to see us. Told us they were full and would set up a table for us. We reserved for outside patio. Nothing was ready outside. They took 40 minutues to get us drinks (not even water or bread). We had to remind you them about orders multiple times. Once we asked for drinks and waitress said she would bring them. After 20min, she never came back, not even with an update. I went to the bar on placed the order. A few minutes later we had our drinks. Overall great food and music, but never visit this restaurant during a busy saturday night; they need more service staff or teach the ones they have how to multitask.
Understanding it was Valentines weekend, I’m hoping my experience was isolated. Our server never checked on us, I never had an opportunity to order a second drink, or dessert as we kept having to flag other staff members to help us. I ate my ribeye with a beer vs the Cab I really looked forward to. My girlfriend remained with her empty cocktail throughout the entire last part of our 2.5 hour experience. The manager seemed genuinely passionate about her role but this was not the case with our server. Steak was cooked perfectly and yet lacked seasoning and was dry on the outside (under a heat lamp too long). I can remember less than 5 times I’ve tipped zero on a check and this will be one of them. The place may be popular with many. However, I will not go back.
Very beautiful and romantic for a date .. took my fiancé and she loved it .. was outstanding .. recommend for everyone that wants a nice romantic dinner place .. best time to be there is around 5-7p.m less people more romantic 👍❤️
Excellent food, great ambient been going for 5 years now in our anniversary never had a problem with staff except yesterday, it took the waiter more than a hour to bring us the food, in the bright side the manager took care of us with a 50 dollar gift card, over all great fancy restaurant
Tables very small, and table accommodations very tight.
Excelente service and quality of food, music was also very good valume and professional
Always a nice dinner at the Patio. Great food, atmosphere, and service. Brooks was playing, as well.
Food was great. Started with the quail which was unbelievable ( and half price at Happy Hour). FInished with a filet and mashed potatoes. Filet was perfect, mashed potatoes were adequate. Great atmosphere, met fun people sitting at the bar and they definitely have a fun group of people.
The food was great from the appetizers to dessert. And the service was outstanding.
The Patio is still my favorite restaurant in McAllen.
We had a wonderful evening. The food was terrific. Service very friendly and efficient. The only thing I would suggest is that the dinner plates be warmed prior to playing dinner. This would help keep food hotter. I would definitely recut this on my next visit. The musician in the dining room was excellent and had a great presentation of music which was perfect for dining. I would highly suggest this a must place to go for dinner.
Gorgeous room. We ate early on a weeknight, so there were not many other patrons. Top notch service.
