The Pastaria has been serving fresh Italian food in the Los Gatos area since 1995. It's a family-owned restaurant where sauces and pastas of all kinds are handmade every day. You will feel right at home when you sit in the bright, active dining room. Whether you're there on a date, with your family or with friends you can expect to have a delicious, authentic Italian meal in a comfortable place.
Cuisine served at The Pastaria includes freshly made tiramisu, fantastic meatballs, classic fettuccine alfredo, gnocchi, seafood and meat dishes. Stuffed pasta dishes like the cheese ravioli and tri-colored tortellini are popular at The Pastaria. If you have dietary restrictions, many meals can be customized to fit your needs. Gluten-free pastas are available and there are a variety of vegetarian and vegan meals on the menu.
I ordered the Truffle Paparadelli, one of my usuals, and did not really taste any truffle flavor at all.
Also, unfortunately the service was a bit spotty as well, which is not highly uncommon.
We wish they'd just tidy-up a little (e.g. remove the un-lit neon "Lunch" sign in the window, as they haven't served lunch in over a decade?) and put in just little extra clean ambience and consiststency.
It really could be great.
Very good food, large portions and great service. Highly recommended.
We greatly enjoyed our date night along with our 10 month old daughter. Great menu, perfect ambiance and overall a wonderful dining experience.
Amazing food! One of my favorite places for a date night with my husband.
One of our favorites, outstanding food and friendly laid-back service. The dining room is small, so make a reservation.
I went there with my wife. Loved the food. I got the pasta arrabiatta and the sauce was delicious, if you like a little bit of kick and spice in your food. The place was kind of small and perhaps a bit too cozy for a warm summer evening. For whatever reason, they chose not to have air-conditioning. That probably works fine (and in fact sounds great) on a nice spring day, but not in July. The outside tables looked very inviting. Unfortunately there were only 2 of them and we couldn't score one.
Its tiny, crowded and hot in the summer but in a good way - like you have been transported to Italy on a hot summer night. The door is open to let any bit of cool breeze in, the wine is flowing, and the tables are full of people laughing and talking as they enjoy dishes like the warm Mediterranean olives appetizer and arugula and peach salad truly a bit of summer in a bowl. At other tables plates overflow with tender fresh pasta dishes. The mushroom and black truffle sauce, butternut squash ravioli, gnocchi salsiccia, house made meatballs with Sunday gravy are local favorites - but get there early before they run out! Reservations are a must - rarely have we been able to just walk in and get a table, even on a week night.
This restaurant is a gem. It only has a dozen tables so reservations are a must. Excellent homemade pasta, generous serving sizes and reasonable prices.. Service was attentive and menu had a variety of items to fit everyone's taste. Would definitely come back,
love this place, one of our families fav'es, the food is very good, the pasta is made fresh there at the restaurant and is so good, we go here at least once a month,
Pastaria gets an A+.
I have been twice. Both times excellent food!!! The Gluten Free pasta is by far the BEST that I have tasted in all of Los Gatos and Campbell! I understand that the chef was unhappy with the other Gluten Free pastas that were available, and so now makes his own! YUMMMMMM!
I had the pesto walnut GF pasta with sliced chicken. I wanted to eat only half as I was hoping to take some home for lunch the next day...but couldn't help myself! I also asked for a side of marinara which added zing!
Their service is excellent as well. FUN place!
great food but it is extremely hot inside the restaurant!
Everything I've tried is good here, but I keep on going back to the Truffle Raviolis. Now everyone we go with wants them! Wednesday early & the place had a line at the door with every seat filled, so you know it's good. Nice that their wine isn't so overpriced like so many places also.
We love this restaurant, but had dinner on a hot night with no AC. And our favorite app, A mozerella dish was not available and 2 of the wines were not in. Just hoping they get some AC and the food and wine were just a fluke
My son had the meat tortellini with pesto and walnuts. Every bite was heaven.
I had the gluten free mostacholli (sp?). Wow, the sauce was so comforting, it was like cuddling up in a warm bed on a cold day. I can't tell you how good it was!
Pastaria Market has become one of our local favorites. You do need to plan ahead but it's worth it!
Our table was not quite ready at the time of our reservation, but the hostess was friendly and all was good, especially at the end....we had gone with another couple who shares the same anniversary day as my husband and I. I had noted this in my open table reservation, and the server actually read the note and surprised us with 2 nice desserts. Very thoughtful and special!
This was our second time at The Pastaria. The food and service were just as good as the first time which is why we made the trip back. The only hiccup was that we had a 7pm reservation and couldn't be seated until about 7:30/7:45 due to two patrons who stayed an inordinately long amount of time, long after they'd finished eating. There were also two very large groups taking up most of the seating. Understandably, they couldn't boot out the ones who were just hanging out but it is something to keep in mind when you're booking at a small restaurant . The staff did everything they could to accommodate us while we waited and the great service continued once we made it into our booth. Sometimes things occur that the owners cannot control. It's how they respond in those situations that leaves a lasting impression. Try the Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Gelato. So, good! This is our new favorite in town. We'll be back.
my buddy and I get together once a week and we trade off finding a new spot to have a good meal and a few glasses of wine. We found it at Pastaria. Our salads were fresh, bread soft and fresh, and when the main course came out, the aromas just made you want to dive in. Afterwards, our waiter suggested the vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso and that was a great suggestion. Yes, the noise level was a bit high and the restaurant is a tiny place which does make it difficult to have a quiet conversation. We have added Pastaria to our return list.
The Pasteria is a neighborhood gem, the food is good and the poepl are nice. It is always busy and noisy but that is part of the place.
Great food making me want to come back and try more.
Wonderful evening with friends. The restaurant was quite busy for a Sunday and it was a little hard to hear both end of the table with a larger group. The food and wine were very good. I would go again with family or friends. It was a little warm but the service was nice and they kept things moving with a larger group.
I LOVE this restaurant! The food is so incredibly delicious. If I could, I would eat there every night of the week. I had the pasta primavera on this visit and it was so wonderful -- I was already thinking about how much I was going to enjoy eating it again the next day for lunch. The portion was quite substantial, so it really was enough for two full meals. My starter salad was cool, fresh, crisp, and served on a chilled plate. I really do appreciate those extra touches that make a meal special. You can tell that everything is carefully prepared and served at its peak with care and attention to detail. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. He made us feel at home. I can't wait to go back. I already know which pasta I want to try next! Always be sure to make a reservation and so you won't be disappointed if you can't get in.
Food is great as always. So was the wine and staff.
One small nit though, I would like to see them dust a little better. Some of the decor is a dusty
Good food . Good service. it's small but a great neighborhood restaurant.. The server was knowledgeable and attentive.i went with 4 friends and we each had something different and we all enjoyed our meal
We had a nice dinner with tortallini, nice seafood and a good glass of wine and a beer. Something on the menu for everyone. And our waiter was a local Los Gatan and was super accommodating.
We have been going here since their doors opened, @ 1996. Love the food! Always crowded, I have never seen them advertise. Great pasta dishes and appetizers. The owner
Donna is wonderful!
This place never dissapoints and the food is better than any other Italian place I have been to.
We live 4 5minutes away and will drive there, for the fresh and delicious food! The owners are very nice, too!
Over the years (17), this restaurant has been consistently good.
Great food--so many delicious choices, hard to decide. Barrata salad--amazing. Our waitress, Kim, was fabulous!
