Made reservations but they didn’t have a table for us, so they put together a setting down the block on the curb next to a road block. Our server was nice but had to jog back and forth between us and the restaurant. The food was ok, seating and environment not good.
The Pastaria is one of our favorite restaurants in Los Gatos. We dined outside on a warm Sunday evening. The wait staff worked especially hard to keep diners safe during Covid19.
Secured standard seats, not patio.. but we were seated in the patio regardless. Without complaint - I understand the difficulties in operating these days. We were, so far from any service table with support items that when I asked for pepper on my salad... it took 7 minutes to wander back to the dining room secure the shaker, then return.
There were only coverings on two sides of the tent - so wind blew through and it was very chilly. The propane fireplace had little effect.
It simply took too long to deliver good and service since we were located two addresses away from the restaurant. We rushed our meal to get out of the cold.
Simple steps could have solved this... covid restrictions or not..
The restaurant is now open for indoor seating as well, which is nice to see. We sat near the front of the restaurant. The selections we chose were really tasty. I ordered seafood linguini. We also had the salmon on asparagus dish and the lasagna.
We were stuffed. Our server was very attentive.
I recommend.
Best Italian food and value in the South Bay. Outside dining is nice and not too loud; with all the downtown charm of Los Gatos.
The servers were amazing, and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed the experience.
The food was the best! Service was great!! Our waiter was so nice and very helpful
Great dinner w the kids
The food was delicious. But there was group outside that was very loud and in the small
Very good and I will be very excited to go back.. I love the new location and the owners are both lovely.
Always wonderful and consistent! Wonderful man agent!
The highlight of our week (yes, we eat at the Pastaria that often) is our night out at The Pastaria. The staff is like family, friendly, knowledgable, efficient and fun and the food is always remarkable. The ambiance is fabulous and cozy with fire pits, lights making it a refreshing break from reality.
I've eaten at The Pastaria before, and I couldn't wait to go back! Unfortunately, it took me a couple of years due to living out of the area. Our dinner was such a disappointment. The appetizer took 30 minutes to come out, which was a bit long. We weren't too upset about that, although we had ordered it because we were so hungry. When our pasta came out, mine was perfectly flavorless. The sauce was so runny that it didn't coat the pasta at all. Pushing the pasta aside and attempting to scoop up some sauce, I found that it tasted like warm cream -- no truffle flavor at all. I resolved to simply eat the chicken. I took a bite, and could barely chew through it, it was so overcooked. My husband's dinner was so-so-- better than mine. His gnocchi were prepared well, but his sauce was also incredibly runny. I wanted to order something else, but our server did not check on us for over 20 minutes. By the time she asked us how things were, my husband was finished, and we were just ready to go home. I told her what was wrong with the dish, and she seemed to take it personally. Gratefully, the owner/manager comped my dish, but we will not return. The server, herself, said that she "eats this pasta every night," which tells me it wasn't just an "off" night (as I was hoping was the case).
Great food, great service! Beautiful location as well!
So delicious! It was our first time here and we loved it. Our server was amazing and the pace of dinner was perfect... not too much down time between things (drinks, apps, mains, dessert), but did not feel rushed. We definitely will be back to enjoy again!
So good I love their frose my waitress was so nice. I went on a solo self date and definitely recommend to my other friends.
The Pastaria is the best restaurant of all time. Phenomenal food, ambiance and service.
Great food and service
One of our favorites for date night and the staff is always so amazing!
Always excellent. The house made gluten free pasta is the best I’ve ever had. Not to mention it’s difficult to find places that make their own GF pasta at all
The best pasta in town!
We had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Tagliatelle Bolognese. We finished every bite! Their garlic bread is very tasty as well. Our server and the bus person were attentive to our table. They made sitting outside in the cold bearable for us!
The Pastaria is our go-to place (at least 2x's a week) for the best Italian food in a charming setting even during COVID and all the restrictions. I can't recommend this place enough a true neighborhood gem
Covid so eating outside. Cold. Heaters could be better placed.
The service was amazing. Food was very nice. Prices are good value for money esp for a group.
I love everything about this restaurant! Cozy, intimate, amazing food, and great service. The host working (Ruey) was very accommodating.
This was our first time dining here although I had heard good things about it. There were five of us and we all loved the choices we made. The salads were good sized and the appetizers were very good. You will not leave here hungry. Our server helped with recommendations and(I think his name was Ian) was very welcoming which helped make for a great dining experience. We will definitely be back.
Restaurant is very small and inviting. Definitely need to make reservations. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. Recommend it highly!
The Pastaria was an excellent venue for a date night. It is a very small restaurant, and I would not recommend it for families with small children but perfect for a date. The service was just perfect and the food excellent. The small size of the restaurant and the many tables take away from the romance factor, but it was a good choice for a date none the less.
This is my go to down to earth pasta restaurant. Love the food. The bread is great, the artichoke dip delicious! Must make a reservation if you plan to get a table as this is a small place.
We've been going to Pasteria for many years now and we love it. For the quality that you get, it is exceptionally well priced. It's our go to place for 'special occasions' and even 'not-so-special' occasions. The wine list, though not voluminous, has selections that I like, especially some very good local wines. I am not going to say what they are because I want them to have those in stock when I come in.
Our waiter, young man , do not remember his name , was excellent !
Interesting Italian.
Small dining room, make reservations early.
Great local wine list. Ask your server for advice.
Pastaria continues to be one of our favorite local places. We cannot get here enough. The food is always outstanding and the service makes you feel like family. We go with and without our kids as the atmosphere is appropriate for both. If you have not been, don't hesitate as you will not be disappointed.
The food is always great! We have never had a bad meal...
Excellent as always.
Fabulous, fresh food.
Great service.
Very accommodating with food allergies and preferences.
Make reservations. Excellent place for couples or small groups of six or less.
Who hasn't been to a gazillion Italian restaurants already? Italian food is good. But the restaurants are a dime-a-dozen. Pastaria really stands out because the quality of the food is so obviously exceptional and way ahead of what most of us are used to. Handmade, homemade pastas and gnocchi, rich sauces, delicious sausages...the list goes on. Two of us in our party of four asked for something slightly off menu - add a little spice/kick to this, add some prawns to that, and they delivered nicely with what we were after.
The service is a bit on the slow side - bad if you're in a hurry I suppose or great if you prefer to savor a meal without them trying to move you along and turn your table. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, the specials, and the kitchen's capabilities - somewhat of a rarity these days. Highly recommended. A cozy family place with great service and delicious food. This is what a restaurant should be.
So good. Pasta is a amazing always for get just how good there food is.
